Evelyn and Charlie make sure you feel welcome and taken care of from the moment you meet them. Super comfortable bed, fresh towels changed daily and plenty of toiletries to use. A kettle and tea/coffee to make in the room whenever you wish. Delicious homemade breakfast accommodated to one's preferences (full English breakfast, fried/scrambled eggs, toasts, Weetabix, yoghurts, fresh fruits, tea and coffee). Great location, right next to the bus stop (20-ish minute ride from the airport) and only 25 min walk from the train station. A quite big shopping mall nearby with everything you may need.

I had a wonderful stay at Arkaig Guest House. Evelyn and Charlie are very kind and helpful hosts. I felt warmly welcomed from the moment Charlie greeted me at the door. The guest house is easily accessible by car and public transportation, and it remains a quiet retreat despite its city location. There is private street parking behind the building. The room was small but comfortable, and I had everything that I needed for a pleasant stay. Evelyn is an excellent cook; my breakfasts were delicious and generous. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer on this occasion, but I will gladly book again when I’m back in Aberdeen.

First class guest house where you will be provided all that you require for a wonderful stay whilst in Aberdeen, I wish I could pick up this bed and breakfast, it is so good I wish I could take it with me wherever I require a place to stay. From the warmest of welcomes, you will receive awesome five-star service for the duration of your residence, and nothing seems too much trouble. The room was brilliant, functional, well-appointed, nice décor, well-maintained and spotlessly clean with a sleep-inducing bed with fabulous mattress, pillows and duvet together with a modern smart TV and good Wi-Fi. The highlight of the stay for me was the breakfast; an extensive cold buffet selection accompanied by a delicious full-cooked breakfast of high-quality ingredients cooked superbly and presented with panache; a truly wonderful start to the day. Located on the main road leading to the city centre, the airport and the city’s main hospital, with buses connecting these places stopping frequently just a few steps from the front door.

Absolutely lovely staff/owners, they really took good care of me. The location was very good for my needs - near my place of work (it was a business trip), easy to get to by bus from the city centre and the railway station. Very warm and cosy room - an important consideration in Aberdeen in winter! Overall, good value for money - you get a room and breakfast for 50 quid, can't complain.

The room was quite small, with a single bed, the light especially was quite dim and gloomy. Overall, it was quite clean and well maintained on a daily basis, but the room might benefit from a deep clean at some point.

My second proper traditional B&B of the trip. The Scottish obviously know something about providing a decent service. And a very nice b'fast it was too! The room was on the first floor and very comfortable. Despite being in a big city there is dedicated car parking in an adjacent road which is a big plus for anyone in a car. Avoids problems of parking restrictions and charges. Were I to revisit Aberdeen, I would rebook Arkaig. Arkaig is not in the town centre but is a short bus ride away with the stop just opposite. I actually walked it as well so really no distance. So don't be put off by location. Places to eat out in the immediate vicinity were limited - it is basically a residential area - but go into the city for plenty of choice.

Very friendly, efficient welcome. Everything I needed was provided and very impressed, especially considering the price. Would definitely stay again. Full range of cooked and cold breakfasy items. Impressive for the price point.

Would have preferred a range of pillow sizes. For me, 2 pillows were too much, each on their own wasn't enough 9both the smae size). However, I was only there for one night, so didn't ask or bring this up. Definitely not a deal breaker. I reckon if I was there longer and had asked, the owners would've sorted this if I had asked them. They were super helpful and lovely!

The hosts were superb. They were always doing things for me: calling a taxi, carrying my suitcases upstairs, making me a cup of tea. I felt very pampered. Before I arrived Evelyn was so responsive to my emailed questions. For a budget price I received luxury service! Everything was spotlessly clean and it was quiet and very easy as a weary international traveler to get naps as well as a great night’s sleep. The breakfasts were wonderful and the full, cooked breakfast kept me going until the end of the day, so generous were the portions

The Hosts were exceptional! They made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was always excellent, with a good choice of options. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean. This guest house is very well maintained. The location was just right for all the possible needs - from restaurants, to the city centre, to the University of Aberdeen,, to laundromats, to malls. This guest house is a walking distance from all of them. With several bus stops just down the road, and one almost directly in front of the property. I took a bus to the city centre on my departure today, and all I had to do was just walk across the road to the bus stop, less than a minutes walk! I would definitely recommend this guest house, and I'd definitely stay, when next I'm in Aberdeen. Thank you Charlie and Evelyn, for being such exceptional hosts.

What went well? Everthing Eveyln and Charlie are great hosts and couldn't do enough to make my visit as enjoyable as possible. In fact it was so good I stayed for 10 (ten) weeks. Clean comfortable rooms, comfortable beds and a breakfast to set you up for the rest of the day. I'm not sure what else you really need, it almost felt like a home from home. A good location for me, free parking a rarity in Aberdeen. What else can I add, also a great price. Its a 10 from me

It was perfect

Everything was perfect. The owners were so kind and answered all my questions. Breakfast was amazing, the place was incredibly clean. The location was perfect, a short walk to the city and the bus stop was right in front. The service was like a 5-star hotel. I highly recommend it. The owners treat their guests with care, as if they were family. I will definitely be back. Thank you.
