Friendly staff and great location

I returned to my room Saturday night to find someone had used the toilet and not flushed it, not me as I had been out all day and there was one of the coffee cups used with still coffee in it. If this was the cleaner then they should have cleaned up after themselves, I do not object to them having a cup of coffee but leave the room with clean ones. Also the bed was extremely squeaky.

Check in was awkward at first as the hotel’s systems were down but they dealt with it well and it caused no issues. Our Club Room was very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect although I think the hospitality tray could be improved by providing a selection of teas rather than just breakfast tea. Beds were amazingly comfortable but the pillows were rather hard for my liking - maybe a choice of pillows could be offered.The bathroom towels were large and fluffy and toiletries were provided along with slippers and bathrobes. Good system in place for cleaning/ replenishment choices by guests. Breakfast on our first morning was somewhat shambolic but all issues had been resolved by the next morning and our subsequent breakfasts were excellent with everything running as smoothly as you would expect. My only comment would be that breakfast room staff could be more observant about clearing used plates away. We ate in the restaurant twice and on both occasions our meals were hot, freshly prepared and delicious - compliments to the chef. We had been given free drinks vouchers and a 20% discount on food so we used both of these on our first meal. These vouchers were greatly appreciated and a lovely welcome to The Copthorne. All staff we encountered during our stay were welcoming, pleasant and helpful and we would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Aberdeen.

A couple of minor details which I have already mentioned ie pillow choices, tea choices on hospitality tray and plate clearing at breakfast - these would have enhanced our stay but didn’t spoil it.

A close walking distance to the Music hall, with a car park opposite. The lift can only be accessed by your key card, which is good security. My room was fine, with a small openable window. Fridge . The staff were very friendly. Car park , not hotels but reasonable price. Nice large fluffy towels

There was only a couple of points, steps to the front entrance & then more steps to the reception. No air con & shower in bath hand rail made for awkward shower.

The room was very spacious. The bed was comfortable. The bar was nice and relaxed with great seating areas. We didn't eat at the restaurant as we had already made reservations at a restaurant in town.

The room was very warm,although we did have a fan, it made a bit of a difference. The people in the room next door had loud music on and were banging until gone 01:00 also locked themselves out their room and were quite loud in the corridor.

The staff were nothing but excellent. My room was spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and recently renovated. Really handy to know that there was an iron, ironing board and fan in the wardrobe. My 1 night stay was incredibly reasonably priced. Very close to city centre. Will gladly return.

There was a bit of a gap under the door so I could hear to occasionally person walking/talking in the corridor. Understandable for being an older building.

The customer service is outstanding. Normally when I stay in a hotel, it's nice if one or two staff members are really good at it, but in this hotel everyone is excellent. I had quite an upsetting family emergency right after ordering food and had to go back to my room. A few minutes later they just turned up with a tray. I had to leave at 3am and was greeted with reception asking if I needed help with my bags. Earlier in the day I was shown how to use an accessible access route by a staff member who just happened to be passing and noticed I had a pram. The whole team and whoever trains them deserves recognition. The breakfast also a highlight. The orange juice tasted fresh and they offer extra little features like fresh pancakes. The evening food is also excellent. You can tell they have a chef who puts thought into the dishes.

It's not awful, but the sound from other rooms is quite noticeable. I'd welcome a flag at check in about the room cleaning system, as you have to stumble on it from noticing tags on the door. I agree with the system itself though.

The staff were exceptionally lovely and helpful, the bed was very comfortable and it was great to have pillows with loads of life in them. The room was clean, plenty space for a longer trip and the ability to cast my own phone to the TV was a great touch. View out of the room across Aberdeen rooftops was lovely and as much as they state no parking there is a multistory across the road for lower height cars that would be ideal, we unfortunately hadn't realized this and parked further away. Also great location for food and the music hall!

The bathroom is a little dated but it is still very functional and clean, so it certainly isn't a complaint. Though we didn't seem to have a working bathroom extractor fan.

Love this hotel and its location. We have booked it twice now whilst at in Aberdeen the Albyn hospital and this place is ideally located for everything you need in and around the centre. We only dealt with one member of staff in the 4 days we were there and that was on check in. Her name was Rachael and she was just fantastic and ever so welcoming. This staff member needs to be praised for her lovely manner and professionalism in dealing with customers. She is the reason we have booked this hotel again for a third visit to Aberdeen.

The location was perfect: 5 minutes walking from the main street but the area where the hotel was located was very quiet: no traffic or early delivery vans. The room was big enough for me with a huge bathtub to relax after all day walking. Breakfast was also good: plenty of choices.

There were no radio channels on the TV despite of an existing "radio button" on the TV control.
