From the moment we were greeted at Reception the staff were helpful, friendly, polite & efficient. We were attending a private party ( Margery & Tony Dey’s Golden Wedding) & that was a superb occasion, a pleasant room, delicious afternoon tea & excellent service. Our room was comfortable clean with good facilities , an especially good shower & the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed a very good breakfast before returning to our home in Devon & we would certainly stay again & encourage friends with business or family in the area to stay with you too.
The tea & coffee served at the tea & at breakfast could have been hotter, a very minor criticism.

Thought Breakfast was far too expensive as there was NO alternative to one of us who only has Cereals and Tea every morning. However the excellent Restaurant Staff did oblige us with this and only charged accordingly. Also the first room we had was far too small and on the top Floor and being Older (one of us had a Pacemaker which we should have mentioned I guess when we booked) so we had to ask to be moved to the next floor down, which they did. Apart from that the staff were great and the dinner we had on our last night was delicious.

We only had breakfast once at the hotel. Overall ok but could have more variety in cheese and bread. The hotel is beautiful and the surroundings are amazing and well maintained. For the price you pay you get a beautiful spacious room in a very British historic estate. Staff are very friendly.
Mattresses a bit old probably and not very comfy and I fail to understand the two separate faucets in the bathroom(hot and cold). I know it is a British “thing” but it’s so unpractical…. It is quite far if you want to visit London every day(1h by car or a bit less by train).

Comfortable asthetically pleasing, historic building, quiet, easy parking, friendly staff, everything within easy walking distance ie to the building, lifts to rooms to resaurant and bar and the beautiful grounds.
The addition of an extra heavy blanket would be apreciated, so I don't have to bring my own. Availability of providing a yoga matt, if requested, I think would be a very good touch. Need for room & bathrooms to be thoroughly inspected as some lymescale in corner of shower base. Dirt in trim of UPVC window by the handle, you see it when you open the window.

For my needs the location was perfect. I have used this hotel several times and have always enjoyed a wonderful stay. The staff make you feel so welcome. They are friendly but consummately professional. The food, both evening meal and breakfast was excellent. The gardens are well worth a visit. Great place to relax.
The only place for an extra large double bed is the 'garden lodges' which are in themselves great spaces although to be fair I haven't inquired about twin beds in the main hotel. (Twins are not mentioned in the advertising) Here, the infuser in the entrance way to the lodges is not a scent for everyone and I found it overpowering.

Set in amazing, quiet grounds, lovely Georgian style property with very nice outdoor area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was also very nice.
Stayed in the lodge, at £216 for the night I would expect more/better facilities, such as a small gym, and maybe a pool. There was nothing. The rooms were dated and the TV in the room was not usable as it was such a dark picture - it must have been at least 10+ years old and I can see other guests have mentioned this in other reviews. Food & drink pricey (but nice). I likely noticed all of the above as I was a solo traveler for work.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. As I checked out and put my bags in my car I decided to have 5 minutes looking at the grounds. Just to take a breath before a work day with its stress meetings and then a journey back north. A guy said good morning to me and he turned out to be the head gardener. We had a chat about the history of ownership the grounds and in particular the trees etc. and it was just engaging, interesting and just set up the day and made me smile. Thank you. I will be booking again

Everyone I met was so lovely and helpful. Room was fab. Upgrade had everything, room was perfectly warm and cosy on a freezing cold night. The perfect welcome after a long day. Food was delicious and a special mention to the restaurant manager.
Nothing to dislike. I’ve stayed before a number of times and it’s consistently a great place to stay.

I stayed here the day before my wedding and for my wedding night and I cannot go on about how lovely and amazing the staff were! Bless them in the run up to my stay they answered all of my many queries, ensured I had everything I needed and really put me at ease so I didn’t have to worry about anything! I stayed in the spacious garden lodge room which had plenty of room for me and my bridesmaids on the day to get ready with a gorgeous patio space outside - and the amount of facilities were fabulous with a great bath, good minibar and coffee station. I had such a wonderful stay here I didn’t want to leave with my husband and it was very comfortable and get v luxurious! Thank you so so much for a memorable stay!
Not much to be honest! Perhaps slightly on the pricey side but to be expected with the amenities!

What an absolutely stunning place to stay. Everything was perfect. Spotlessly clean, so comfortable and staff so helpful and welcoming. Room was amazing. Everything thing you could wish for. We were well provided for with complementary biscuits and tea making facilities, toiletries, soft luxurious towels, ironing equipment and so much space. The bed was so comfortable and the room so quiet and cosy, with comfortable chairs to relax in, with so much space.. The location was fantastic, set in acres of beautiful countryside with plenty of free parking available. It was perfect for quiet relaxation and perfectly situated for going into central London on the underground trains from nearby (5 minutes drive away) Cockfosters Station, where there is a large car park. However, just be aware, this can get busy and we were unlucky not to be able to find to space, by 11am on a Saturday, so had to hurriedly find an alternative on the Just Park app and park 30 minutes walk away in Sainsbury car park. Obviously absolutely nothing to do with the excellent hotel stay at all but thought this might be useful to bear in mind for future visits. We would love to stay here again and would throughly recommend it
Absolutely nothing! This place is perfection in everyway
