Staff were attentive courteous and helpful. The single bed I slept in was extremely comfortable and room was clean and fresh. I asked for a fan as weather was hot, it was delivered to my room within 5 minutes. The location was great, bus stop directly outside and was close to everything I needed. Overall it was a great place to stay and I would definitely stay there again.

There is wear and tear and stains noticed mainly in some hallways and staircases on the carpets in those areas, the lift wasn't working which didn't cause me much of a problem but could do for others.

While the common areas that I saw would be in need of some more love and care, I was satisfied with my room - it very spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable. The room was properly heated through the night. I had all the amenities mentioned at the booking stage. The location was really good for the purposes of my visit.

Indeed the sink and shower fittings are a bit older but they were clean, so I have no issues with that; my only comment is that 1 tap was in need of a firm hand to properly turn off the water.

Very good location.The staff were very helpful and happy to help. Sheets and towels clean. For the price paid good value.

All the carpets were very worn, as were some of the furnishings in the room. When we returned to the room on the first night in the evening nothing had been cleaned. At reception they said the guests have to tell them if they want the room cleaned otherwise its not cleaned. The curtains didn't really block out the light.

Finish was a bit tatty eg. paint on carpet Crack in bath so could only fill upto 1 inch. Not good in a family room when you need to bathe children Toilet handle loose and bathroom door handle coming off. Needed to screw it back on

I'm a frequent visitor to Hove, and I love these distinguished, old buildings. It's so full of character! No, of course it's not meant to be a new building with the latest amenities. It has an olde worlde charm with massive windows, wood furniture, and red carpets. My room was large but cozy, and it was nicely warm in the winter. The bed was large and quite comfortable (even with my back pain). The staff were WONDERFUL, helpful and so kind. Will definitely stay again! Thank you!

Beautiful room! Lovely and spacious we got a family room for a group of friends and it was perfect, lovely old style room high ceilings, dated decor. The reviews complaining it wasn't modernised are horrible! We loved the charm of the decor and style of the hotel. Perfect location close to shops and the pier.

It could've been more clean it was dusty in areas but defiantly not dirty, you can only clean it so much when you're a busy hotel.

The staff were helpful, kind and welcoming. The hotel is in an ideal location, close to the beach with lovely cafes and shops right nearby. The room was quiet, clean and spacious.

The room was sometimes very hot, and the shower had low pressure. We forgot to mention this to the staff until checkout, they said they would have assisted with the water pressure so maybe the issue could have been fixed.

We have stayed here a few times - the decor is tired in places and this time our shower was not particularly powerful and couldn't be hung on the wall but the water was hot. I'm sure we could have been moved if we had asked but we were staying for one night and it didnt matter.

Noisy pigeons on building plot behind. It was a very hot weekend so windows were open. Nothing they could have done about it! A fan in the room would have been welcome! Lifts didn’t work but we were happy to walk.

The location was near bus stops and Hove station and we could easily walk into central Brighton and the beach is the end of the road. Our bed was very comfortable and our room 216 was very clean also quiet as it was around the back of the property. The staff were friendly and helpful, the receptionist carried my bag up two floors to are room.

The curtains in our room were short and a bit on the small size they only just covered the window. There is no lift.
