My car hire company dropped me at terminal 5 where I checked in my bags and then had an easy walk to the hotel. You just can't beat the location even though it's a bit pricey at times. The check in lady could not have been nicer and I would never have thought she must have said the same thing 100 times that day as she was so nice.

Oh my goodness the carpet 😩. Even wheeling my had luggage bag was difficult so goodness knows what big bags would be like. There must be some good low noise floor covering? Also carpet always feels so dirty.

The rooms were incredibly calm and quiet and super clean

There was a queue to check in but it's a busy hotel so that's to be expected. I was asked for photo i.d. which is understandable as it's an airport hotel but actually I wasn't travelling and I didn't have any. It's not a requirement to carry photo i.d. in the UK and nothing in the booking confirmation said it was required. The receptionist seemed genuinely shocked that I didn't have any and made me feel like I was in the wrong which didn't get my check in off to a good start. The car park has very inadequate signage and having driven around for ages desperately searching for a space I was quite disorientated. It could have been much easier to find an exit to the hotel.

Just overnight stay before flying back home, but was great stay! Was lucky enough to be upgraded to a king room and after 5 weeks, all over Europe, it was the most comfortable bed for the whole trip! Lots of great pillows and thick, crisp sheets AND blackout curtains that actually kept the room dark! Woke up in later morning and still thought it was nighttime! Staff was friendly and welcoming. Had flown out of Heathrow to Italy a few days before this stay and they kindly stored one of my bags so I was able to just carry on my Italy flights! Super clean room and large shower with great water pressure. Definitely a great stay, would highly recommend it for overnight or longer. Location is fantastic for flying out too! Can't beat how quick and can even stop at stores in airport to get sandwiches, drinks, etc before checking in.

The room was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were given an upgrade which we really appreciated because we had an early flight to catch. And the location for the airport couldn’t have been better.

The only issue we had was that the parking is very expensive so we ended up leaving our car in the long stay car park, which meant we had to travel from the car park back to the hotel, so more reasonable pricing would have made it even better so we could have parked there.

Our room was perfect and had every convenience for our stay before our vacation. It was super quiet, the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and it was spotlessly clean. Every member of staff we encountered was courteous, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal in the vivre restaurant (smoked haddock and salmon fish cakes were gorgeous) and we could not fault our overall experience. We even dropped our luggage at the hotel drop off with the concierge as we went to park our car (as we were unable to park at the hotel for the 3 week duration). Superb location with a 10 minute walk to the terminal. So relaxing to start a holiday or work travel.

Would have loved to be able to have had the possibility to park at the hotel for longer than 2 weeks as we had to find an alternative., which was slightly inconvenient.

Convenient to Terminal 5. Staff provided an upgrade and complimentary mini-bar. Room comfortable and good AC. Good bathroom ensuite.

They need to solve an issue with electrical outlets. Outlets with standard UK rectangular 3 prongs and US grounded plugs available in desk area, but there are no plug outlets on the nightstands (where people would normally want to charge phones overnight). Furthermore, the only wall outlets near the bed are of the infrequently seen 3 prong rounded type. So someone with a C-pap machine and only standard 3-prong rectangular UK adapters is in a bind. The hotel does not provide 3-prong rounded adapters at all, nor do they provide extension cords. The hotel would do well to provide adapters to guests. Longer-term, they should look at the solutions that many hotels now provide with nightstand lamps with integral (built-in) charging ports.

Upon arrival the entrance hall is beautifully spacious and an oasis of calm. The door man assisted with the luggage, the check in was knowledgeable and the process was extremely smooth. The porter took our luggage to our room and showed us how everything worked. We had an early check in, so I did the walk to Terminal 5 departures as a trial run and found everything the night before so we knew where we were going the next morning. We had room service and an early night. The room service was excellent we were very impressed, they use hot boxes which are a life saver when delivering food. We didn’t have breakfast, but were delighted with the assistance received getting our suitcases onto the airport trolleys to go to check in. All the staff we met were polite, courteous and exhibited excellent hospitality - thank you.

Highly convenient, which is the major selling point. Both the waiters (Sorocco, Kamaljit) in Vivre were outstanding - made me feel at home for dinner and breakfast. Concierge luggage service was first class.

Huge queue to check in - took 15 minutes to reach counter. Failed cable / broken kettle in room (see pic) so had to go downstairs for breakfast. I was then charged £33.75 for the privilege - which did not include sparkling water until I complained - & is by far the most expensive coffee and bacon sandwich I ever had ! 😆🙄 Confusing room numbering and lighting in room

So conveniently located for flying out of Terminal 5...just a walk across a pedestrian bridge. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Before arriving, we were offered an upgrade for an additional fee to a suite. Ours had club access that included complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening canapés and drinks. Our dinner (plus a bottle of champagne) in La Belle Époque, a French restaurant, was included in the offer as well, quite a bargain since we had planned on having a celebratory dinner our last night before flying home anyway. The food and service were excellent. There was also a spa on premises but I didn't try it.

We're retired and used to travel frequently on business. This hotel has a definite business hotel vibe, and although we were upgraded to a very nice suite, our room didn't have much character and felt a bit sterile. No complaining though. For an airport hotel, Sofitel was an excellent and convenient luxury hotel option.

Easy 5 minute indoor walk from Terminal 5 Arrivals. Bed was very comfortable, sheets were crisp and we had the best nap upon arrival from NYC at 6:45 a.m.! I had reserved the room for the previous day so we could check in immediately. I called the hotel before boarding flight for London to confirm we would be a very late check in. I was asked to provide a credit card to guarantee the room since, apparently, Booking.com had not paid for the room yet. I was also offered a free extra hour to 1:00 pm for checkout. I’m glad I also asked for directions to hoteI because I don’t think I would have found it so easily otherwise. Upon arrival, we were upgraded from a classic room to a junior suite. Our room was conveniently located close to the lobby. Before my nap, I stopped at the lobby coffee bar and brought a freshly baked croissant and excellent caffè latte back to my room. After nap and a shower, we checked out and left our carry on bags with the hotel bellman so we could sightsee in London before our connecting flight that night. The Sofitel Hotel made our London layover delightful. Thank you to everyone’s kindness on the phone and in person!

There was only one shower cap and it was so thin that it tore in half as I tried to open it.
