The staff were all so lovely and super helpful. Was great having the convenience of the pub/restaurant downstairs.

If I was to be a little over critical, the bedroom and bathroom could have been dusted thoroughly, quite a bit of dust on lampshades/extractors and bedside tables. The shower was in need of some resealing, quite a bit of mildew.

The location was perfect for us. And we live on a busy road so the traffic wasn’t a problem at all. Night seemed very quiet but obviously being a main road did pick up early. Beds were super comfortable! Welcome basket is a lovely touch. Staff were pleasant enough.

Musty smell in the bathroom, which also wasn’t as clean as I would have expect. Floors creaked a lot which woke up others and I can’t imagine the rooms below us got away without hearing that too. At breakfast the continental was hit or miss. First few days was stale bread. Last morning however was amazing and all very fresh and stocked up. The weird sweeping and moping while having breakfast is super annoying! Moping an area in-front of the buffet where I need to walk can be done after breakfast has finished!?

Blackfriars is an exceptionally pleasant place to stay. I rarely use hyperbole to describe a hotel, but from my first online contact with Graham the manager, to my interaction with the delightful, professional and friendly staff such as Naimh, Jenny and Abbi (others too) it was a first rate experience. The location is central and convenient, the room was warm clean well presented and more calories in the freebies snack basket than I should have eaten, but hey. Breakfast and lunch was excellent. I overnighted as I did a trip up and down on the Caledonian Sleeper train (that was fun) and they very kindly accommodated my request for staying longer before checkout to fit in with my departure time. All in all I don’t know what else you would look for than this. By the way, Leakey’s second hand book store, with its huge wood burning stove (google it) is just behind, so do visit. Thankyou Blackfriars 😊

Room and bathroom were very good. It was All super clean. Staff were lovely to us and the dog. Great location, large old graveyard nearby for a nice peaceful walk and for the dog to get some exercise.

It’s fine and there are only minor things. Check-in was a bit chaotic with a wee mishap with someone else being given in error our room and they were then moved, but that didn’t bother us, we were fine to wait. I was surprised that the ball of ice cream that accompanied the desert was not a ball, it was a scraped out of the container lumpy bit of ice cream which was at odds with the carefully arranged cushions and welcome Basket of tea and biscuits in the bedroom. It’s like two different people are running things. Huge potential for this place to be absolutely super.

Lovely large quiet room, warm and very comfortable with a small seating area. Beautiful blinds and wallpaper, and quality bedding and towels (although a bath sheet, rather than a bath towel, would have been welcome!). There was plenty of piping hot water, great water pressure, rainfall shower. Excellent selection of in room snacks and drinks, including individual bottles of still and sparkling water. Breakfast was excellent, great choice - this was provided downstairs in the main pub, where they also offer a very good varied menu, including a tasty Sunday Roast lunch and an excellent Cullen Skink. All staff were super helpful, friendly and efficient. And finally location was great for us - 5 minutes from the railway station, round the corner from one of Scotland's best 2nd hand bookstores, Leakey's, and a couple of doors up from fantastic traditional music and real ale pub, Macgregors. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again on our next visit to Inverness

Side lighting in room could have been a little brighter, however that's personal preference I guess. And I would have liked a fluffier duvet, however again, that's personal preference.

Our breakfast server during our stay was the best! One of the days during our stay - the breakfast chef called out and she did an amazing job taking care of everyone and doing her best completely alone. She remembered our coffee orders, was friendly and prompt with service and made our stay so much better! The rooms are cute and comfortable. Good shower and bathroom size. Great location.

It's not a didn't like - but prepare for the stairs!

The location was great, and perfect for exploring Inverness. The staff were all really friendly, and went out of their way to get our room ready early when we arrived which was much appreciated. Our room was gorgeous, a really nice size with a very comfy bed. Lots of snacks were provided in the room which was a really nice touch. Overall, we had a great stay at Blackfriars!

The only negative was how loud it was when anyone walked around in the room above, which they started doing most mornings at 6am for long periods! So that was a little disruptive, but out of the hotel staff's control.

The breakfast was excellent, our room was clean, comfortable and homey. The staff were all lovely. The evening meals were tasty and I especially loved the Sunday roast. The decor was oldie worksite. I loved the old exposed brick work in the bar/restaurant. The window sills were deep and The Christmas Decorations and the Christmas Tree were tastefully done. The hotel was nice and Central for my husband and I as he had appointments to keep at Raigmore Hospital. The owner was really nice and paid for our soup and sandwiches as we’d been mistakenly charged for our breakfast. All in all we enjoyed our stay in the Blackfriars Hotel. We definitely want to stay there again. 💕

The only thing we didn’t like so much was the sound of the traffic but that can’t be helped being in the centre of Inverness, we got used to it and slept peacefully in our very comfortable bed!

Very convenient to main downtown area of Inverness. Best set up for family. Our room consisted of one room with queen + single and then separate room with 2 singles. This was a welcome change to having to share one room with two teenagers. Room was able to heat well with the space heater. Dinner at property for extra fee was delicious.

No parking at property- had to pay for parking in a lot across street snd down a lane. While dinner was delicious, breakfast was a disappointment. It is obvious the chef only cooked the dinner. The toast was dry and cold and the eggs had a weird burnt taste.

Beautiful modern room, excellent cooked breakfast (don’t read the other negative reviews) fabulous attentive and very helpful staff- thank you for the phone charger and keeping our bags for the day, much appreciated! 😉 Loved the snacks in room- very nice touch.

Not a dislike- just that the toiletries could have been filled up rather than having to go and buy shampoo as bottles empty and never brought any with us. Room a little noisy as next to the door at top of stairs with other guests coming in and out, I know this will be a fire door so can’t be helped.
