Was right in the middle of everything we needed, close to AO arena where we went, xmas markets right outside door. I just want to say a big big thank you to the Mitre Hotel, I left a bag down at hotel and I live in Scotland so it was hard to go back down with work etc, they went out their way to post it back up for me, wouldn't have bothered but the stuff in it was expensive so I just want to thank them.

Showers are terrible, a 10 minute wash took half hour.

My husband, son & I stayed here overnight as a stop gap between London & Glasgow. The room itself had a double and a single bed which was great (as sometimes you end up with a cot bed for a child) & both incredibly comfortable! The location is superb; right next to Manchester Cathedral, the oldest pubs and a 2 minute walk from the Arndale shopping centre, Harvey Nicholls etc. The breakfast choice was also great, I had eggs benedict, my husband had a large English breakfast, and my son 4 American pancakes with Nutella & strawberries...................cannot fault for £80 overnight! The staff were also all lovely & really friendly, both in the bar & the hotel - they are a credit to this place!

The WiFi in the room could have been better and the bathroom was a little tired however, for the price we paid this really wasn't an issue.

Charming historical building. Stunning view of the Cathedral, very nice decor, comfortable room in a great central location and close walking distance to AO Arena. Bed was comfortable.

Bathroom was tiny, and the pump made a disturbingly loud noise. The taps were on a timer, so I used much more water than necessary. The room was very small and there was nowhere really to put my bag or hang my clothes. The mirror was difficult to get to and was from the waist up so I needed to stand on the bed to get a full view of my outfit. Despite all these shortfalls, I still enjoyed my stay... it just wasn't perfect.

I wasn’t expecting the hotel to be very good considering the cheap price. The hotel is right in the centre of Manchester , a short walk from Victoria train station. The bed was comfy , room was spotless. There was an iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities and a large fan in the room. The building is very old with wonky floors which just added to the charm . Staff were welcoming and friendly. I will be booking again.

Nothing. I loved the hotel and the location. It was noisy outside until about midnight but I slept well. I’ve added a photo of the old pub opposite the hotel. Such beautiful buildings.

What we thought we was getting was a room, but what we got was like an apartment! It was excellent and blew us all away! Had well air conditioning which was needed for us travelling on a hot day. Cannot complain at all about anything the hotel had to offer! We did think it would be noisy given the area the hotel is in but we couldn't hear a thing when going to sleep!!

Room didn't have a shower but did have a bath to get a quick wash in which is what we needed the room for! Ideal for a nights stay but had we stayed longer, we'd of liked the option of a shower in the room.

I liked the Location and closeness to alot of the shops , restaurants and attractions such as Manchester Cathedral, The Glade of light and the national football museum . the public transport links are close by and there is more than one option available. The hotel has alot of character and is quite spectacular to look at. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The free included breakfast on my stay was ample and was delicious , and also we were able to add and take things off of our meals , Tea , coffee , juice and water was included as well and you could refill. the room was spacious and very well maintained and clean. Overall, we were all very impressed with the hotel .

Me and my daughter stayed here for four nights in May and we had a great time. Food was good in the pub downstairs. Location was perfect. The building is old and beautiful with a history and we loved that. Lovely staff, always a kind smile for you!

The view from our window was the worst view I've ever had anywhere, but we were mostly out and about so not to disappointed after all. We had no problems at all but if you're having problems with mobility maybe this is not the place for you since there is a lot of narrow and steep stairs and no elevator.

We honestly loved this hotel! It's not, like, the fanciest thing ever, but it was an amazing value for the money — perfect location right in the city center and above a really fun pub. We were just spending the night during a long layover before a really early flight the next morning. I thought the room was quite comfortable! It wasn't massive or anything, but again, a great value for the price and more than adequate. I could see why it could be loud, as others mentioned, given that everything's pretty close together and the walls and doors don't seem super thick, but we personally didn't have any noise issues at all. The staff were really nice, too. We would definitely come back if we return to Manchester — all-around it was wonderful.

Booked the luxury double room. Fantastic decision. Room was huge, bed was comfy but the bathroom was the real highlight. Stand alone bath tub and a fireplace?! Hello! It felt really luxurious. I needed a city break with my best friend and we had a fantastic time away. I genuinely would book that place again in a heart beat

Nothing to do with the property itself but you are located next to a cathedral that loves its bells on a Sunday. It is also above a pub that can get loud but they do remove their outdoor tables that are outside the room relatively early on. They also supply earplugs which is a useful touch!

Lovely quirky hotel in the heart of Manchester. Manchester is a city of ugly multi storey hotels built of concrete and glass with no character. On our arrival we were confronted by buildings each more ugly than the last. On parking the car we walked to the Mitre Hotel. An oasis in the town centre, adjacent to a number of very old pubs with lots of character. Staff very polite and welcoming, our room overlooked the Cathedral. There was entertainment in the bar if you were staying in. Do not book this lovely old fashioned hotel if you favour bland surroundings and a corporate atmosphere.
