Honestly this hotel was the best weekend away we have ever had the communication before we arrived the special touches were above and beyond. Big thank you to Kris, Emily & Spike. Excellent team. The hotel is spotless quirky n cool. Bar staff super friendly, we had a cocktail in our room made by the lovely Eddie, it was better than the margaritas we had recently in Mexico. Great guy 👌. We stayed half board and had the best sea bass we have ever eaten out, perfectly seasoned, a real treat. Next time we come we will definitely try the taster menu. The room was just fabulous, our photos don't even do it justice. The bed was super comfy, I am a very picky sleeper and I really didn't want to get out of it. We decided to have the gotham breakfast delivered to our room, piping hot and of the highest standard. Our room was The bank managers suite, if anyone reading this has a bit more money in your budget please book, u definitely won't be disappointed it knocks your socks off the minute you walk through the door..Take it from someone who knows a bit about hospitality, I have worked in it all my life. Absolutely nothing to dislike

The decor adds a nice ambiance and the rooms are laid out in a nice manner. The huge ceiling height adds to the Gothic manner of the hotel. The bathroom was spacious and the monsoon shower large enough for 4 people! The shower head was properly large enough to drench you fully while standing under it. The terrace bar affords great views over the city. Had breakfast on two of the days. The full English was very nice. Good bacon and sausages with lots of flavour. A different twist on a hash brown which was very enjoyable. The crushed avocado was not as good. The muffin was not a muffin, it was a bread roll and the avocado was only dressed at the edge of the roll with the two poached eggs covering the middle of the toasted roll. It tasted ok but was unimpressed. Also a roll has a curved top makes it much more wobbly when on you plate. However passed comment to the Maître d’ he apologised offered me a replacement and explained he would investigate why. He also came back to me the next day with an update that they were looking into why the wrong items were being used in the kitchen. Was very impressed with the service from the staff in the restaurant. The bar staff and reception staff were also very friendly and polite. Bar staff also were very attentive when on the terrace as to if we wanted more drinks. At the Club Brass you drink in the continental manner where you get your drinks then settle the bill at the end.

By the time we arrived at The Gotham, we had already been traveling for nearly 2 weeks, and we were getting weary. We arrived late at night, around midnight and there was something at the check in desk that was super friendly and happy to get us quickly into our room. The room itself was beautiful, comfortable, and very interesting...lots to check out. An experience that we weren't expecting; it was awesome. The shower had a huge rainfall shower head plus another shower head; best shower I'd had in a while! The bed was very soft and comfortable; even the sheets were great. Anyone looking for something a little dark and stormy and interesting should check this hotel out. Highly recommend.

Well, when we were walking to our room, we could hear...um...fun times coming from another room and it was LOUD. Not sure if that is the soundproofing or the people themselves, but I would be aware that others may hear you if you are very enthusiastic.

The concierge and reception staff were fantastic, friendly, welcoming, making good local suggestions, couldn't fault them. The room was very cool and the whole place felt very cool on a very unique way!

Very little bad to say about this hotel so I'm kinda clutching at straws but the barman in the roof bar was slow and distracted by cleaning instead of coming to take our order... But when he did the drinks were good and came fast.... Other than that.... The door release button on the second floor wasn't working very well and made it hard to get out to the lifts.... But only for a few seconds... Genuinely can't think of anything else I would change, great stay, 100% rebirth

Great hotel , fantastic room & facilities . Staff were brilliant .

I wasn’t aware prior to my stay there was a £100 deposit charge it wasn’t stated in the booking . I was additionally charged a further £95 on top of that deposit totalling £195 extra on top of my paid booking . The staff at reception couldn’t really explain the reason for this either which wasn’t helpful . I was told I would receive it back 3-5 days , but as of today writing this I still haven’t received it . I think it needs to be explained when booking that a deposit charge is taken , so future customers are aware .

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. We booked as a last minute get away and were welcomed with the usual first class service and more. The renovation works to the exterior are noted, and a cold glass of fizz on check in, plus a complimentary bottle in our room on arrival was a lovely touch. Cocktails in club brass were fab as always, as was the service from the bar staff.

We stayed on the first floor on this occasion in one of the suites, and unfortunately it was very noisy from around 4am from the road noise. Building works were started quite early also so our luxury of a lie in was a non starter. We have always had a great stay here and the road noise was never and issue on previous stays.

I came here with my girlfriend for a last minute night away, and I've been here before. The staff are always friendly and professional. The rooms have a great vibe and really make it a "destination" hotel. Good mini bar provisions, robes, nice toiletries etc. The rooms are very quiet and you don't really hear internal or city noises.

The mini bar would be improved with more tea/coffee/milk. The top floor bar seems to be a weak spot at this hotel; I've been a couple of times and it's always slow and possibly understaffed. We sent a cocktail back and they waived the bill for both drinks, which was very kind and appreciated.

The Gotham hotel is a beautiful hotel full of charm, style and elegance. All the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Andrea checked us in, she explained everything about our stay, she is helpful friendly and made us feel very welcomed as this was our first time stay, she even check with us when we got to the room that all was good for us. We also had a welcoming glass of prosecco, which was a lovely touch. Our room was amazing, full of character and charm, with a large bathroom and a very comfortable bed. After an amazing sleep we had an excellent breakfast, all the dinning room staff were attentive and chatty. We will be having a return visit.

DONT BE PUT OFF BY THE BUILDING WORK!!!!!!!! Beautifully decorated hotel and yes it is covered in scaffolding for renovation work, however who sits looking at the outside of a hotel! In Manchester it’s usually only the Lowry or Dakota for me however there’s a new favourite in town! Inside is beautifully furnished and unique in terms of local hotels in Manchester. I was upgraded on arrival which was a fantastic treat. The room was beautiful with a freestanding bathtub and huge bed. Mini bar and room service facilities were excellent. With the staff were super polite, attentive and friendly. Every single staff member you walked past would greet you with a smile and a welcome. Brass was a nice speakeasy time bar, bar staff, were excellent with a great knowledge of cocktails. Amazing views on the roof terrace although it was a little too hot to sit out during my stay. Breakfast was fantastic and included a cooked and continental breakfast. The scrambled eggs are a must! A fabulous stay, will definitely be back!

Only request would be that the curtains were more “blackout” as it did feel a little bright in the morning

Really lovely room, and the bathroom has the most amazing rainfall shower and well stocked mini bar (water in there is free which is very handy). The bed was really comfortable, everything was immaculately clean, and the decor was gorgeous. The Bugle newspaper guide was a lovely touch, as were the biscuits in the room. Staff were really friendly and polite, particularly the bar staff who were very chatty and personable. Breakfast was lovely, and the team there were nice and handled everything with great professionalism - I liked that the cooked options were fresh to order. The outside did have some scaffolding up for a renovation, but there was no noise and even the scaffolding had been decorated and lit so that the outside was easy to recognise and didn't look bad at all.

The roof garden was lovely, but the plants up there did need some tending to. The breakfast area could do with having some butter on the buffet counter, and access to the toaster as opposed to having to ask the staff to cut and toast the bread - otherwise fabulous.
