The decor adds a nice ambiance and the rooms are laid out in a nice manner. The huge ceiling height adds to the Gothic manner of the hotel. The bathroom was spacious and the monsoon shower large enough for 4 people! The shower head was properly large enough to drench you fully while standing under it. The terrace bar affords great views over the city. Had breakfast on two of the days. The full English was very nice. Good bacon and sausages with lots of flavour. A different twist on a hash brown which was very enjoyable. The crushed avocado was not as good. The muffin was not a muffin, it was a bread roll and the avocado was only dressed at the edge of the roll with the two poached eggs covering the middle of the toasted roll. It tasted ok but was unimpressed. Also a roll has a curved top makes it much more wobbly when on you plate. However passed comment to the Maître d’ he apologised offered me a replacement and explained he would investigate why. He also came back to me the next day with an update that they were looking into why the wrong items were being used in the kitchen. Was very impressed with the service from the staff in the restaurant. The bar staff and reception staff were also very friendly and polite. Bar staff also were very attentive when on the terrace as to if we wanted more drinks. At the Club Brass you drink in the continental manner where you get your drinks then settle the bill at the end.

The classic room is small and lacks storage space. The hotel requires you to pre authorise £100 per night and charges your credit card. I appreciate why they do it but £100 each night affects the bank balance!. They also charge you 5% of your overall room cost at the end of the stay as a tip for staff. The bar also adds on a service charge. The bar has great views of the city but lacks atmosphere. The hotel reception is on the 6th floor and there is nowhere in the hotel to just hang out.

We were here for our anniversary and had a brilliant time. The staff were absolutely fantastic, really welcoming and attentive. The additional extras that were requested were ready in the room on arrival. The breakfast was absolutely delicious.

The cost of water from room service, we had run out of complimentary water and my partner was feeling ill, we rang down to room service asking for cans or bottles of water. The room service attendant arrived quickly, which is a plus, but 4 bottles of water came to a total of £29. This is beyond excessive. Our carpet was stained with red wine, the television was not straight on the wall either, and we noticed a tear in our duvet in the morning. We did have the service charges removed for the inconvenience. However, for the cost and the class of the hotel, we did expect a little more. Regardless, we would stay again!

Staff were all amazing, but special mention goes to Harry, who took care of our valet parking and went the extra mile in terms of service ... not in real miles of course 😉 Food was fabulous in Honey and in the bar, Brass, where the barman is another superstar.

Building work meant that the hotel is cloaked in scaffolding and, therefore, completely impossible to find ... that combined with the Manchester one-way systems, meant the journey took an extra 45 minutes. Room 209 was lovely, but it had an adjoining door to the next room, meaning that it sometimes felt like the neighbours were in with you!

From when we arrived to when we left the Gotham was welcoming. Staff where very helpful and friendly. We stayed for my partners 40th. When we arrived we headed up to reception an welcomed with a happy birthday and a room upgrade to a suite. On arriving at our room 'The Delaney' we walked in to find beautiful decor the radio planing an the most amazing mini bar (can't call it that) stocked. Id arranged for balloons an treats to be placed in the room and they where presented so perfectly. We relaxed for a few hours then headed to the restaurant. We where greeted by staff an seated by a window. The restaurant was decorated beautifully. We where handed the wine bible which was the biggest one I've seen to date an out order was taken. Id just like to say the lamb was the most incredible meal I've ever eaten. It melted in my mouth an the chef deserves a congratulations, it was delicious. We then headed up to the members bar which was on the top floor. We had a cocktail an sat out in the heated roof top area which was lovely. The following morning we head to breakfast. Again service was fantastic an there was lots of continental options as well as hot options. The full English was cooked to perfection an very tasty. All in all our stay was exceptional. I couldn't fault a thing, we'd definitely stay again.

I purchased a bottle of prosecco from the members bar an I feel it was very expensive. I've purchased the branch from a local supermarket in the past at a 6th of the price which was disappointing. Id have thought it would be of better quality.

Service not 5 star, champagne I ordered flat and when I asked for it to be changed the bar member said - there is a slight bubble (it was on life support). No apology at all. When ordering dinner waiter didn't ask if I had any allergies (I do), seemed to want us to order three courses all at once i.e. including desert and confused re: cutlery. Small things but noticeable especially as restaurant not busy in the evening. Food during dinner average and wine by the glass poor. Additional service charges and another 'hotel' service charge added to bill.

Every member of staff we met were so nice & friendly. Our room was fabulous, the shower was amazing, as were the towels & toiletries. Everything was quality in my eyes. We had an amazing breakfast, there was plenty of choice to help yourself to and our cooked breakfast arrived hot. The location was great, only a few minutes walk to shops. I would definitely return.

Not a massive problem but like a lot of places these days they prefer card payment at the bar, you can pay cash but they don't hold change, so unless you have the right money, your change turns into their tip!

Very comfortable sleep; quiet, clean and lovely bed. Not something you expect to get in such a central city location. Staff were really accommodating when I ran into some issues during check in. Decor had very luxurious feel and felt reasonably priced compared to other hotels that I've stayed in at this calibre. Housekeeping were excellent, the place was spotless.

It was not made clear enough to me that the card security payment would be withdrawn and then refunded - I got the impression from the wording 'pre authorisation' that a deferred payment would be set up, rather than a literal payment of £100 per night. It would be useful to clarify this for people who aren't in a position to temporarily lose access to that amount of money!

Great location and decor, we loved the room (one of the suites) and the staff were friendly. We didn't try the restaurant but we enjoyed a drink in Club Brass.

We were in Manchester an extra night due to poor weather and didn't have a physical bank card with us, which meant we had a holding charge of £150 for the room. I had other ID on me so it was a frustrating extra cost, although I understand with upmarket hotels that it is a common policy. We were unable to get anything but Freeview on the TV despite Netflix and Disney being available as they would not work. It was also a shame that the camera to view outside on the media wall wasn't working either.
