I stayed in a 4 bed female only room and it was awesome. Very clean, neat, and spacious. The beds are comfy and the lighting is good. There’s a shower and toilet in the room which makes it more convenient for guests. The location of the hostel is great. It’s close to the Museum of Science and Technology. It’s roughly 20 minutes from both Manchester United stadium and Manchester City Stadium. The hostel has a kitchen as well as a restaurant. The environment around is breathtaking! I’ll definitely be back.

The beds lack privacy as there are no bed curtains. There’s female only rooms should have emergency female products like tampons or sanitary towels.

The staff were incredibly easy to talk to (as well as the clientele - there's something about the YHA that brings the best out of people's conversation skills - I don't think I've ever stayed there without bumping into an incredibly interesting - and polite - person), and all of the facilities were top notch - especially for the price! I know some people aren't fans of the idea of sharing a room with strangers, but if you're okay with that idea, you can't stay anywhere better.

The dorm that I spent the night in was a little stuffy, and the only source of ventilation we had at our disposal was a singular fan. That might have been fine for the other guys, but, as the person on the top bunk, I had a pretty sweaty night's sleep.

In a cool and safe area, being on a wharf had a view of the river. Staff were friendly and helpful. Common spaces were very clean and welcoming. Good value for money. Breakfast had good options and was fairly priced.

It was very hot, but it was also summer and there was a very powerful fan provided so they couldn’t do much more to help. Towel rental was £2.50 (not necessarily a dislike but just be aware if you don’t bring your own you will have to pay for it). Mattress was pretty thin so you were sleeping on the frame by the morning but it did the trick.

The beds were comfortable and it’s definitely good value for money. We came as a group of 4 and felt comfortable in the quadruple room. One of our bedsheets had a stain to which the reception staff immediately replaced it after we asked. There’s a water refill station and a spacious communal area. There’s also luggage storage facilities and you can store your luggage after checkout and collect it when you want to. Staff were also helpful and friendly. We had a bathroom in our room which was really handy.

The water pressure for the shower is not very strong and the toilet can take some time to flush. But other than that we were really happy with our stay.

Clean, tidy, modern, all amenities that you would expect except for...see improvement below. Great location for bars, eateries. Offers a warm up jog to Salford Parkrun. Friendly staff, breakfast offered, good communal area and bar. Cost effective.

Although the room had lockers, they were not electronic locks linked to keycard which meant you needed a padlock. I remembered to bring one for this eventuality but it was too big so still couldn't use. You could however buy a smaller padlock from reception. Bathroom fittings were worn but it was functional and clean. Both minor in the scheme of things.

The kitchen area was great and had everything you could need and storage area. The rooms were spacious and it was nice to only have to share with three other people especially a bathroom and shower. The staff were very nice and accommodating. They have full menus of food, drinks, and dessert to choose from. Lots of area to just hangout if needed but also fairly close to things to do if you plan it out.

It is a little bit of a distance from the train/bus station but there is a bus that will drop you off with only a 5 minute walk to the hostel.

Clean, well organised, cheap and cheerful. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare food. The shared rooms have ensuite bathrooms and a toilet. The staff are always on-hand, friendly and helpful. The bag drop room makes it easy to leave luggage so you can go about your day unhindered. Good location right next to the MOSI. I've stayed here on several visits to Manchester and will surely be back again.

No complaints whatsoever! As its a hostel you can of course expect the occasional minimal noise from other guests, but that's hardly the hostels fault and comes with the territory really. I've always managed to sleep just fine every time I've stayed.

Amazing hostel that is very clean, very welcoming and in a very convenient location! Really liked that the room was only 4 people and included a private bathroom and shower. Lockers were also a great size for the backpack. Staff was super kind and friendly and really liked that it is maned 24/7. Only a 10 min walk to get to the heart of the city centre and 10 Min walk to get to Deansgate station which takes you directly to the airport which is perfect.

The area it is located is beautiful and urban but a bit sketchy a night pending on which way you walk. Recommend walking on the main road side at night as opposed to the water canals (quite dark at night).

Well lit outside, in a nice location next to the canal. Very clean facilities and bedding was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and knowledgable. Breakfast was very cheap and very good selection and quality.

Kitchen did not have any sharp knives to cook with and one of the hobs didn’t work very well. Lots of trains very very nearby so can be quite noisy throughout the day and night, however for the price you can’t complain. Very good value for money.

Everything was perfect from A-Z apart from noise while we kept the windows open and the size of the room, which didn't have enough space for our kids to walk around. Nice location, free car park, clean and tidy, game boards, big screen, smoke-free, professional, friendly, and very helpful staff. We had a great stay at YHA. I have to say a big thanks to all the team, especially the lady who brought the baby cot to our door, and the guy who introduced himself as a night shift manager was very friendly and helpful.

The noise from the train, especially at night when the kids are in deep sleep. The size of the room, which is expected to be big enough for 3 bunk beds and a baby cot.
