Staff were friendly, Stacey checked us in and was really polite and helpful, when we checked out staff were equally as polite. The hotel had a really nice atmosphere, the lobby was clean as was the room. The facilities in the room were great the free drinks in the fridge were an added bonus. Staff in the restaurant/bar were attentive and the drinks were lovely, prices as you would expect in a hotel. The beds were comfortable and well lit, even though there were no windows that could be opened there was a fan/air con which was great. We parked in a public car park right next to the hotel, charges were reasonable and reflected what you would expect within a city. The location is really good for those who want to visit the centre, would recommend a trip to The Dubliner pub which is just down the road from the hotel.

Close to the train station and quayside. Modern, distinctive hotel with lovely bar and restaurant. Great vibe in the bar area. Room was lovely, clean, comfy large twin beds. Great linen and fluffy towels, lovely smelling products. Room service breakfast was spot on. Shower worked fine and loved the quirky room telephone. All staff were polite, efficient and lovely.

We found it a little tricky to find the steps down to the quayside from the train station. But no complaints about the property it was super, fab, modern looking hotel and spotlessly clean in all areas.

The hotel was very sleek and modern, located directly adjacent to the River Tyne with great views looking along the river towards the Tyne Bridge to the west. Upon arrival at circa 13:00, we were offered early check-in as a similar room to what we had booked was available. We went to the Gino D'Acampo Restaurant Bar for an Aperetif during "Happy Hour" before we headed elsewhere for dinner, and later had another drink in the bar. We had breakfast included in our booking which was buffet style, with an "egg station" where you could order extras such as omelettes, fried or poached eggs. The breakfast was great and the restaurant/bar is nice and bright.

We went to the Gino D'Acampo Restaurant Bar for an Aperetif during "Happy Hour" before we headed elsewhere for dinner. However, despite the "Happy Hour" being advertised around the hotel: at reception, in the lift/elevator etc., the bar and waiting staff didn't appear to know much about it but thankfully i had taken a photo of the menu during check-in so they honoured the prices. I did feel that they should be more aware of the deals/offers, and customers should be notified when they arrive and not made to feel like they were asking for anything out of the ordinary.

The staff were so incredibly lovely. People on the front desk, and at the restaurant, went above and beyond to make this such an enjoyable weekend for me and my sister. It was great to go to the Sunday quayside market, which was within walking distance. Just a really chill and peaceful vibe. Will definitely be returning!

We stayed in a room with a balcony, and the view was a little disappointing. We couldn’t see the river from our balcony because of the grass, which is on top of the restaurant I believe. We had the view of the car park really, which was a little disappointing. The balcony was really nice though. Aside from this.

This is a consistently good chain of hotels. Its a newer hotel, so all areas were modern, clean and pleasant. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable with great views of the river. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom area. Had all the usual room facilities you'd expect. Well located hotel to get onto the quayside or up into town. Stayed on a Sunday and got a very good rate. Nice Italian restaurant on site; food was REALLY good.

Minor point; the hotel has a small carpark which was full so the parking option was a Q park about 5 minutes walk up the hill. Not a problem for us but worth noting if you have someone in your party with mobility difficulties.

This hotel was excellent. The concierge was provided me with good advice on services in the nearby area. The restaurant provided an excellent breakfast. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. We had an incredible view of the Tyne river looking east to the High Level bridge and beyond.

They do not have a laundry room which I had been hoping for. There is a laundry service that is provided by a third-party but it is really expensive. I walked to a laundry in Gateshead that the concierge kindly found for me and it was reasonably priced.

Had a lovely 1 night stay for mine and my husbands (40th birthday) i contacted them with regards of balloons for the room and they recommended a person.. I used her and she was so lovely and the balloons were amazing even tho I hate balloons.. I contacted melia before hand about this and they responded straight away.

The price of the bar drinks, got 4 double drinks (because of a special occasion) and it was £40..Walk 2 mins down the road and it was £22 half the price.. As lovely as the setting was it's very steep in price and not worth the money (bar only) this is not a bad review on the hotel or cleanliness just the bar only

Staff were delightful. Lovely building design - airy, modern, stylish, chilled. My studio room had an amazing view of the Tyne bridges. It was so well designed. I appreciated the large comfy bed and the lovely selection of complimentary drinks in the fridge. Communication with staff in advance (my train was delayed, so my check-in was very late) was friendly and helpful. They even offered me a courtesy extra hour in the room before I checked out. I had a quick workout and the gym was small and clean.

Breakfast was pretty good, but some of the standing buffet items (especially the scrambled eggs) were a bit lukewarm, and the selection of meats and cheeses was small and a bit dull. The gym could do with one more piece of equipment, to allow you to work your back more effectively (even a cable machine would do it — there’s space). But these are minor quibbles … I loved this hotel and hope to return.

The kindness shown by Simon. When we checked in he gave us a bottle of prossecco to celebrate our engagement. We were checked in very easily. We got to our room and it was so beautiful and we loved the balcony it had all the things we needed for an awesome night's stay. the bed was huge and I didn't wake up with a bad back as I normally do at home . I think they have magic beds . We got breakfast in bed in the morning it was nice . I would definitely come back .

There was nothing that i didn't like this hotel is the best we have ever been to in newcastle and we have stayed in a few . This hotel beats all them hands down

Despite being a chain, the hotel gave you a real sense of bring in Newcastle, as well as having an excellent location by the river. Rooms were quiet, spacious and comfortable, with great views. Members of staff were friendly, helpful, professional and quietly efficient. The bar was excellent, and meeting Gino da Campo, up to coach his team on the new menu, was an unexpected highlight.

Not really a fan of the unisex loo in Reception, but that is a very minor detail.other than that, impossible to find fault. Well done everyone.
