I’ve stayed in a few places on the island over the years, but this one truly blew me away. Don’t be fooled by the photos on BNB — the reality is even better. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded expectations. Julie, the host, was absolutely exceptional — warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. She went above and beyond to make the stay perfect. The cleanliness was outstanding, and the attention to detail throughout the property was second to none. The location was spot-on — peaceful, convenient, and just what I needed. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right, but this one did. Without a doubt, it’s one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. A flawless 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.

Nothing

We wanted a room within walking distance of the train station and town so that was great. All within 10 minutes walk. The room had three beds so that too was perfect for my daughter and me who wanted separate beds. The room was clean and quiet as the road it looked over was not noisy. The room was a reasonable size and there was a small table and two chairs.

I woke up very early as the room got very light in the morning. There were curtains but they did not block the light. It's not a problem for everyone but I would have wished for thicker, black out curtains as I didn't get enough sleep.

This is a property located in a very quiet area. The room was clean and well presented, with a friendly landlady, The shower was hot and with a good water supply, and the bed was extremely comfy and I would recommend this property to anyone.

I can think of nothing to say that would improve this property - except perhaps a sign indicating where the pull cord for the bathroom light is, as it took me a while to locate it owing to the second pull cord for the shower - but this is only a minor issue and did not detract from the pleasure of my stay

Julie the owner was delightful , friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the bed was comfy. I also liked the fact that there was a fridge in the lounge as you come in which meant guests could keep food and drinks cool.i in fact Julie kindly puts bottles of water in the fridge for anyone to use. I would definitely book here again and recommend it to others Carol

The fact that I could not open the blinds or shut the curtains. I enjoy the light in my room when I wake up and the room to be dark when I go to sleep.

Booking in was quick and easy. The location was excellent. The room and facilities are spotless, with plenty of tea and coffee also provided. No breakfast is available, but just 5 mins away is "Barnabys" with friendly service and very good food. I would certainly stay here again and recommend, if the standards remain the same under any new owner as it is up for sale.

3 parking spaces but quite difficult to manoeuvre into if 2 vehicles already there, but o.k.if careful.

Very friendly, very clean, nothing was too much trouble. Everything had been thought of to make our stay comfortable, kettle, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, TV, WiFi access etc. Comfortable bed, clean room. Plenty of storage, wardrobe etc. Bed made and room cleaned daily, tea/coffee and milk sachets provided daily. We would highly recommend Whitecliff View.

Basic but very clean and comfortable and quiet. Good value for money. Lovely owners who could t do enough for us. Moved their car so I could park and get us a new kettle when I requested one. Fridge freezer for use of guests and fresh fruit and bottled water every day. Highly recommend.

There was nothing to find fault with

I was made to feel very welcome, it was very hot weather but I had a ceiling fan which was great. A big bowl of fruit to help oneself and a fridge downstairs with bottles of water.

I was fine but a lot of stairs for people with mobility problems.

Everything was spotless. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. It was a very short walk into town where there were plenty of restaurants and also buses to Newport and up and down the coast.

Although there was parking for up to four vehicles, access was not easy and this was not helped by it being a one-way street.
