Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. Very clean in all areas, well decorated and maintained. Nice and warm on a very cold NYE! The room was excellent; spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Loads of storage and a very comfy bed. We ate breakfast and dinner there for two days. Breakfast was served at the table and was the best we've had (in any hotel) in a long time! There was plenty of choice for dinner and the food was freshly cooked and excellent.
Nothing really. Some hooks to hang damp coats, maybe on the back of the room door, would have been useful.

Third time staying here, best asset is the excellent staff. Quite dated property but very clean and good food. Room five had a barely functioning shower which was a little inconvenient. Staff are helpful, friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. Liked the new outside seating area and having stayed previously in the newer accommodation block I would recommend staying in those rooms. We will certainly return as location is great for coastal resorts.

Our room (a small twin bedded) in the 'outside block' with its entrance 'lobby', excellent en-suite bathroom, the attractive dining areas in the pub itself (complete with gleaming copper & brass!), the excellent evening meals which included plain, fresh vegetables served in a side dish, the spacious car park... the friendly staff.
Not really a dislike - but a little more choice on the breakfast menu would have been good. For example, some more fruit or porridge! Exiting the car park was rather tricky as the exit was on to a pretty busy road.

We had two breakfasts and an evening meal during our stay. The restaurant was a little bit "too cosy" for our liking and if it was possible for the property to utilise their other dining / bar areas that would improve things. Having said that the quality and presentation of the food was very good. We had a quiet room at the back of the hotel, the four poster bed was very comfortable but I don't think a 13.5 TOG quilt is needed, even in the cold weather during our stay.
The bathroom was functional but the water pressure was on the low side for the shower.

The room was a good size and very clean. Obviously the owners love the place. Breakfast was good and the evening meal excellent. The service was friendly and very good in bar/restaurant. The car park was a good size. Great to have a smart TV to access streaming services as normal is rubbish.
Bed wasn't the most comfortable and the mattress was maybe a little tired and worn. Room was big enough for a larger chair to sit in rather than sitting on the bed.

The welcome was really friendly with a lovely british style bar on entrance. The guys working their were really helpful in providing directions to Scarborough and how to get there and back by taxi.
The shower is tiny with barely enough room to turn in it. The breakfast was disappointing, served between 8.30-9,30am we arrived at 9am. We waited for 45 minutes and was then told they had no sausages. After 55 minutes our rather bland breakfast arrived.

The staff were lovely. The evening meal was really lovely.
The shower mixer tap didn’t work, you either scalded yourself, or froze. When I mentioned this at check out, the man didn’t apologise, and just said that will be down to the mixer tap then. We stopped a year ago, and breakfast this year was far inferior. On the cooked breakfast, we only got 2 mushrooms on the plate, half a warm tomato, and no baked beans. In addition to a single sausage, 2 bacon, fried bread, and watercress???

This was a real find. The room was spacious with plenty of storage. The Staff are friendly, professional and all round excellent. Food is outstanding. Breakfast and evening meal were both bang on. Ate twice in the evening on our stay and 4 different dishes. All spot on. Bar was friendly with a good mix of visitors and locals and the Beer / Gin excellent. 10 out of 10 all round.
Nothing.

Our second time staying here. Everything is first class. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, helpful and obliging. The landlord is a perfect host. The food is excellent and very well prepared. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and the bathrooms are high spec. Great location for many east coast resorts.

Lovely little pub & stay. Warm & friendly , rooms were very cute and the perfection location for us to do some visiting of the area.
Only negative’s would be no beans with the fry up in the morning & slightly slower waitresses in the evening. Toilet wouldn’t flush great but not a massive problem.
