Booked the accommodation at the last minute, but we were delighted with everything about the Oakwheel. Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. We decided to have our evening meal there and the food was delicious. All the staff were great, very friendly and approachable. Our room (Room 5)was very spacious, comfortable, quiet, and clean. Breakfast was also great with generous portions. The pub is not very far away from Scarborough. In fact, from the pub, we walked along the old railway line, known as the Cinder Path, into Scarborough, and then back later on. Think it's about 4 miles each way. We would certainly stay there again. A real gem. Thank you to all the staff at the Oakwheel.

The porridge was lovely, very enjoyable. The eggsbenedict was also nice. The cooked breakfast was tasty but bacon cooked too much, and I didn't like the sausage too spicey. I had a prawn and salmon salad in the evening, which was very good, lots of fish on an interesting salad.

The path panel needed putting back on, and a bit of bleach around the bathroom, mainly the plug holes. There was a strange smell on one of the towels, not nice. Also the window only opened a bit, and it was very very hot and stuffy, could of done with a large fan, we went out and bought two small ones to have by the bed.

Stayed for 2 nights while on a 8 day cycling holiday. Bikes were stored by the staff in the cellar overnight. We ate in the pub on both nights and the food was the best of the trip by some distance- and not the most expensive.

Can’t be helped, but quite a lot of traffic noise in the morning if you keep your window open Quite a long wait for our evening meal after ordering. (at least 45 minutes). I think this is because the meal was freshly prepared, which is great, but it would be a good idea to just let the customer know of the wait and they may choose to have a drink or two in the bar beforehand.

My partner and I stayed at the Oakwheel over Easter, arrived very early way before check in time. However, we were able to have the room straight away, we were then offered breakfast even though it had just ended, breakfast choices are great, quality produce & delicious👌, The team here are amazing nothing is too much trouble, also had an evening meal again delicious, that steak pie is to die for, everything was piping hot & fantastic quality, it's just a fab little spot, traditional pub, open fire, and made all the better by the amazing team that work there, Can't fault it location wise either & is perfect for Whitby/Scarborough/Robin Hood Bay, etc , Didn't want to leave, This place is exceptional value for money , can't wait to go back!

A really pleasant stay. Had a great room, larger than average with a very comfy bed and a large bathroom with a bath! The added benefit of having a very well ran Pub downstairs, with great food and choice of drinks made it even better. Everyone who worked there had a big smile for you. I arrived earlier than it opened, and was happy to wait but the lady (landlady I think) dropped what she was doing and brought me in, checked me in a showed me to my room. Half the price of a smiliar stay in Scarborough 2 miles along the road, and much better in my opinion!

Bed very comfortable and linen good, room clean. Food very good. Breakfast cooked to order and very good quality products. Restaurant food equally as good. The pub is very traditional with a real fire which was very much appreciated on such cold nights.

Only a slight niggle in that the room was on the corner of the pub and single glazed large windows which let in very cold draughts. Curtains were good but the radiator is under one of the windows and on the first night which was below freezing outside, the hot air went straight up the inside of the curtain. The weather changed and warmed up the next day and the room felt warm after that. It is an old building and would think in the summer months the room would be lovely as both windows opened so you would het a breeze.

The pub is lovely and cosy, fab fire down one end of the bar which is great to sit by this time of year with a pint of the expertly kept beer (highly recommend a pound of the Boltmaker!) There were always a few other tables of locals and visitors which gave it a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious and good value for money. The room was very spacious (we stayed in the Punch & Judy room) and the bed was so comfortable. We stayed for a few nights around a friends wedding and it was a great base to head off and visit local places knowing that we could come back to a friendly face behind the bar, a good pint and a comfortable stay for the evening. Taxi was easy to book for our event too, there’s plenty of local companies to choose from. The staff were always very friendly and helpful, I’d really look forward to going back in the future when I’m nearby.

Excellent value for money. Bed was comfortable and room fresh and clean. The restaurant was extremely good value with a hearty breakfast. Location is very convenient for walking and cycling on the cinder track (NCN1), a traffic free path from Scarborough to Whitby with some wonderful places to visit and views of the coast. An added bonus was being able to watch the Lionesses victory over Spain on the large screen TV in the lounge.

Nothing really.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, with a complimentary bottle of water and biscuits in the room. Breakfast was excellent. There are plenty of car parking spaces.

It was a little out of the way for Scarborough town centre, but this didn't bother us. We just drove in. I'm guessing the staff would of helped with taxis and buses if you asked.

Breakfast - fantastic, really filling; Room - comfortable, high-spec; Location - 8 mins' drive from North Shore, easy to get to the town centre and navigate. Inn is in a quiet location and never experienced any noise from the pub or beer garden.

The shower cubicle was very small - too small to be comfortable, kept banging my elbows against the wall when lifting my arms to shamppo my hair, etc. Quite a large bathroom but very small shower cubicle. A larger person - man or woman - would have struggled.
