Breakfast was good, breakfast staff were exceptional great group of people

Room was serviced every day, fresh towels etc but one major concern was the bedding was not changed once in the week we stayed, I have already sent in offical compilation via email

The property is quiet comfortable and secure One staff member (Bev) in the dining room was brilliant. She was very personable and actually looked like she wanted to be at work. Chatted and was genuinely very caring and attentive

Menu in the bar could be a bit more varied. On this occasion a lot of the staff were miserable looked like they could not be bothered. I have booked most every week with work and this week was possibly the worst. I actually cut my lip on a glass that had a piece missing when I bought a drink I raised it with bar staff no details taken no entry into an accident book no concern could not have cared less. Also staff missing from bar area chatting and carrying on in a room behind the bar out of sight but within ear shot. There was a list on reception about available slots at the spa and when I went over to enquire I thought I was speaking a different language.

I booked this hotel as it was close to The Royal Birkdale GC which was a suprise for my husband’s 50th. We were upgraded for free and the room we stayed in was very clean, it had a huge bath with a TV, unfortunately the remote didn’t work, yes we would have asked for a battery, but it was a little too late when the bath was filled, but I’m not letting this put a damper on our stay as it was 10/10 The staff in the bar and restaurant went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday special. I had brought my own bottle of Cristal to celebrate the evening, to which the corkage price was good and they locked it away in their wine safe until needed. I first booked a table in the window for our evening meal, which was no trouble for them, when we arrived we were shown where our table was and that there was soon to be a large group of Golfers sitting near by, I asked if we could be sat somewhere not too busy, and again, they pulled out all the stops to accommodate us. I can’t comment on the spa as we never went, we were too busy watching the golf :-) They had a huge screen outside on the terrace showing the open and a BBQ running. Unfortunately the good old British weather ment we went back inside and continued to watch the open. I’ve read a couple of reviews and it was said about stains on the some of the chairs, this is true, but I know they are addressing this. Unfortunately they are like a velvet material, and it’s difficult to get stains out.. I did not let this ruin my experience as I’m sure they would have anyone staying there a different seat if there’s one available. Thank you too all that made our stay top notch and we’ll definitely be back again soon.

Excellent room. Spacious, fabulous bathroom and shower. Good A/C and nice view over the golf course. Could not be better for us

Not much. Pillows were slightly hard, but small issue. In the hotel generally, the largest missed opportunity was the bar facilities. The beer/lager/wine varieties stocked were pretty awful. The bar menu was limited and the staff on the bar had no personality. Put fixes in place and the bar could double the income easily considering the great views and constantly passing customers, both from the hotel and golfers.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Formby Hall, and I can honestly say it was a truly lovely experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and the peaceful, picturesque surroundings. The atmosphere is both relaxing and elegant—perfect for unwinding and enjoying a bit of luxury. The facilities were spotless and beautifully maintained, and the staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. Whether it was at the spa, the restaurant, or around the grounds, every interaction felt thoughtful and personal.

Our room was lovely, one of the largest hotel rooms I've had anywhere, with a patio with table and chairs. There was plenty of wardrobe space too (useful if you're attending a function). Big bathroom, with separate shower and bath. The pool is one of the best hotel pools I've encountered, big enough to actually swim in, with well-maintained sauna and steam room. There was a good breakfast with a range of cooked items, cereals, yoghurt and pastries. The restaurant isn't cheap, but the food was top class and worth visiting for a treat.

The hotel was fab, but some of the golfing clientele were a bit rowdy - but there are quieter areas outside the main bar

Staff were friendly, both at the hotel reception,bar and golf/spa facilities. Breakfast staff were lovely. (And what a breakfast!) massive selection and range of different breakfast items there’s something for everyone, And quite frankly the quality of the cooked breakfast couldn’t be faulted. Delicious set us up for the day! Room was spacious beds were comfortable slept like a baby. Room amenities were brilliant nice supply of coffee and tea. Nice to see a hotel room with a separate bath and shower 5 star! The property is very clean through out. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Room was amazing, it was so calming and the location of the room was so peaceful .Breakfast was a buffet style affair ,it was all fresh and hot with lots of choice and was topped up when foods were getting low. Dinner was lovely, chefs are very good as the food was amazing and the waiting on staff are very polite and professional . Restaurant was lovely but a little bit cold .

I really cannot fault much ,just the evening meal setting could have been a little bit more stylish ,maybe a candle or/and a small vase of flowers on the table just for the ambiance change from a breakfast service to a dinner service.

everything was superb!! The room, the big comfy bed, the excellent breakfast, the chilled atmosphere, the leisure facilities (very cool swimming pool, ideal for a morning refresher) and the staff were super friendly, the girls at reception, good lad behind the bar, lovely ladies on breakfast and certainly not forgetting Fiona who gave me a much needed deep-tissue massage which made me feel so much better I wanted to take her home with me! 🥰 Lovely person she is! Nothing bad to say about this place, highly recommended 👌

Rooms spacious and comfortable. Only thing that was wrong was the tv wouldn’t work. After a quick trip to reception and one of the ladies visiting the room, the tv was reset and worked…..until the next morning. As we weren’t around all that day we didn’t get another reset done. Breakfasts were good and we had evening meal in the hotel the first night which was lovely. Staff on reception helped us whenever we asked questions. Pool facilities were good, used on a couple of occasions. Bar staff very friendly. All in all a good visit.

Apart from the tv not working properly there wasn’t anything else that we could find fault at.
