The staff was so inviting and accommodating. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and so fun. Pool was perfect with lounging cabana beds.

Breakfast was not truly breakfast, just store bought snacks from Ralphs still in the clamshell package. Would have appreciated something as simple as toast. Coffee offered in the lounge was the same coffee in the room.

The property is gorgeous, has so much character, and was obviously designed with love. David, the owner and designer, was so welcoming. The pool was perfect, the bar was beautiful. Everything was exceptional.

This property is divine! A diamond in the desert. It was our first trip to Palm Springs and we were so excited to get a room at a place that was filled with nostalgia, beauty, class and personal touches. I kept saying to my partner that I felt like we were celebrities! We stayed in the Presidential Suite but were able to catch a glimpse of several other rooms before guests arrived and every single one was incredibly decorated and themed perfectly. We walked just a few blocks to great dining and historic homes. I couldn’t recommend this property more! Thank you for creating this magical oasis, David!

Nothing. It’s perfect!

The theming of the rooms were super fun. The pool and hot tub area were lovely to hang out in! We had an issue with our shower draining and staff was super responsive.

Cleanliness left something to be desired. It seemed like the toilet had not been cleaned between guests and we saw three small roaches in our room during our time there. Communication was also inconsistent. There wasn’t anybody at the front desk when we went to check out so we left our keys in the room and hoped for the best.

Loved absolutely everything about this place. The rooms are absolutely stunning and the beds are so comfortable. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I was there with a group of friends and they were very accommodating about our time of arrival and departure. They gave us a tour of all the rooms (I asked, and they were more than happy to show off their hard work). Each one was so unique and beautifully done. I love that the pool and hottub have no curfew as long as you're respectful and they're perfectly heated. You can tell a lot of love was put into this hotel, and they thought of everything. They even have complementary sunscreen, haha. The location is great too! It was easy to get around downtown and plenty of delicious food nearby. Oh, and since each room accommodates 2 people, I doubt you'll ever have to worry about kids running around the pool, haha. Definitely worth the money. I'll absolutely stay the next time I visit Palm Springs.

I stayed in the Playmate Suite and lemme tell you, that is a sexy room. The only thing I'd change is I'd add another light near the couch area because it was a little dark in that corner at night. Not in any way a deal breaker.

David and the staff exceeded our expectations with their warm hospitality, genuine care, and attention to detail, making us feel like family. The Velvet Rope provided a safe, comfortable, unique, and relaxing boutique experience, just a short walk from downtown PS. Highly recommend for a peaceful and fun getaway—we’ll definitely be back!

We wish they could have provided a full bar and food experience, so we could have sat poolside with cocktails and apps in hand. Everything else they provided though during our stay made up for this. The NYE party was so fun!

New little gem of a hotel in PS. Really cute themed, well designed rooms surrounding a pool with sunbeds. At the pool they provided us with extra towels, bottled water and sunscreen. There's a classy little bar onsite too with great craft cocktails. Skip the corporate boutique hotels nearby and get a better experience for less money here.

My partner wished there was an electric kettle in the room or hot water for tea available. I went to one of the several craft coffee options a short walk away.

What an amazing find! We loved everything about Velvet Rope! It is such a special boutique hotel. The room fitouts are so stylish and it really does transport you to another era in time. Rick was such a great host and looked after us well! We enjoyed meeting David and talking about his vision with the hotel- very clever! The location in old Las Palmas was good and we enjoyed riding the bike around and checking out the wonderful estates! We hope to one day return for some more Velvet Rope time!

The only thing we didn’t like is having to leave!!!

We loved the layout of the hotel. All the rooms faced the pool and the cabanas were so comfortable and chic. The patio was spacious and the heated pool was wonderful. We stayed in the Candelabra Room and the decor was inspired by Liberace. The room was beautifully designed with gold fixtures and a piano. Our king bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed having a drink and the glamorous bar, decorated with ‘old Hollywood’ style. The staff were amazing and attentive to anything we needed.

The owners were a complete delight from start to finish. The pool and surrounding area was lovely as was the hot tub. We loved the pool towels, iced water and sun screen station.

Micro details (these did not spoil the stay in any way) - perhaps cutlery would be a good addition to the kitchen we also felt the room could do with a little welcome folder with WiFi and bar / restaurant recommendations as the owners know so many cool spots they need to note them down.
