We were in the family suit and it was huge! It took almost the whole second floor above the former hotel lobby (now it’s a storage space). The design, the style, the cleanliness was great!

There are about 43 drawers and cabinets and you need to open all of them to find kitchen utensils. Some big items like frying pans, lids, pots were missing in those 43 cabinets. Fortunately, the staff was helpful and brought the missing items to us. The oven temperature is super low. We couldn’t cook even a bacon on its highest temperature level. So the oven is useless. There is no dinning table or regular chairs. You either need to climb a bar chair every time or sit on the couch when eating. It’s super inconvenient. The central heating was great but it took us about 3 nights to tune it (a big learning curve)

The staff was very nice on check-in and the room was very clean. The location was great and the grounds were really beautiful. The balcony on the room overlooked the courtyard and was really pleasant to sit out on in the evening.

Unfortunately, we visited during a rare heat wave and our room wasn't air conditioned - which I should have noticed when I booked, so that's not the property's fault. The floor fan that was in the room was incredibly noisy and kept falling over. We would have loved to try the wine bar, but although we were told it was open until 8 every night, the night we tried to go at about 7:15, it was already closed.

The space was so beautiful and calming. All of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful! Did not want to leave and will come back when we are in tahoe. They gave us a list of local places to check out and we used it every day, so helpful. Loved coming back in the evening and having a glass of wine by the fire. And reading outside under the trees. The hot tub was also very nice after skiing and hiking!

The only suggestion would be to have blankets people could borrow for sitting outside or in the rooms by the fire. It would add to the coziness!

It was a great place to stay. The room was spacious with great interior design and comfy bed, and great view. There were complimentary teas and coffee, free parking, hot tub, nice reception area. Perfect location: 10 min walking to Lake Tahoe/ 2 min drive. It's super close to Heavenly. Lots of restaurants nearby and the grocery store is like 5 min by walking.

Everything was great, nothing to complain about. Some suggestions/several things that could be improved: 1. Internet speed 2. Add complimentary water 3. Add a full size mirror. 4. Put newer TV

Way more beautiful than the pictures show, large wooden interior, high ceilings, clean rooms, super friendly staff. Tons of amenities: fire place, balcony deck, toiletries, extra towels, slippers and robes for the hot tub, silverware/plates, comfy bed, easy to operate shower, oil diffuser, large trash can, hot tub, comfortable bed, free complimentary drink at the wine bar, games in the lobby, the list goes on. Check in was quick and easy. Can’t say one thing bad about the place. Booking our next stay ASAP.

We had a wonderful time during our stay in Black Bear Lodge. It made our first time visiting Lake Tahoe memorable. The staff were friendly and super helpful. Our suit was clean, spacious and cozy. The kitchen was fully equipped which is great if you want to stay in and cook a nice meal. We also enjoyed the hot top in the crisp October weather. The property is located in a walking distance to many restaurants/cafes as well as the lake and downtown. Black Bear Lodge is where we will stay next time we are in Tahoe.

Checkin was quick, very friendly and perfect. The Hotel is located in the woods. It has a very nice lodge and woody design. Outsstanding design. Have a look at the Hotel website.... We loved it. The rooms are cosy nice and clean. Beds are comfortable we had a restful sleep. Room had a little fire place which was lovely and created a warm. I would definetly book it next time again when going to south lake tahoe. Checkout was as well very quick + good, but we didn't loved it becasuse we had to leave :-)

Everything was good, not much to complain about. Maybe it would be nice to get a breakfast offered in Hotel, but Red Hut is close and had a very tradiditional american breakfast :-). Elevator or someone who would carry, just to bring the luggage in the upper area would help.

The lobby entrance was very welcoming with a mountain cabin feel. The staff member who welcomed us (Bri) was very kind and efficient. We loved the decorations throughout the room and buildings. Many thoughtful touches including warm robes and slippers to use for walking outside in the cold to hot tub, chocolate on the bed at arrival, ice scraper to use on our car which was handy. The room was clean, large and bed was very comfortable. We didn’t really use kitchenette but it was a nice option to have.

The stand up shower setup made it very difficult to start shower without spraying water all over bathroom floor.

Absolutely loved the cozy feeling of the lodge, a modernized take on a classic cabin. From what I could tell it's one of the prettiest properties in the price range, and extremely close to ski lifts and restaurants. Black Bear Lodge was clean, had a great color palate and accompanying details. So excited to have a fireplace in our room and inviting scent from the oil diffusers in each room. The lobby was straight out of your favorite RomCom. Gorgeous stone fireplace, high ceiling, balcony, board games and complimentary drink tickets to welcome us in. And the jacuzzi was just what I needed at the end of the evening!

Wish access to amenities was indoors. Lobby, jacuzzi and rooms were not connected. It was snowing during our stay, we had to suit up each time we left our rooms, only to quickly get undressed again for jacuzzi. And to run to the lobby briefly. This should be clearly stated in the description that these are all sep. buildings. Lastly, my building was a bit noisy but we could deal with it.

I adore this property. It resembles a hallmark movie. It is so cozy from the rooms to the lobby and everything about it. I will likely choose this property for every stay in Tahoe

Just a few very minor complaints. The hot tub is looking very green, when we went down there in the morning it was so green wasn’t sure if it was cleaned or what not, the temperature was however perfect. I booked a suite specifically for the jet spa and only a few jets worked out of all. When I turned them on long black hairs came out of the jets, maybe from the last person used. I had to clean it before feeling comfortable taking a bath. Other than that the room was perfect
