The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and the location is nice and quiet being 'south of fifth'. The room was very nice and clean with a comfortable bed and good a/c. There was a very useful kitchenette off the main bedroom with microwave, cutlery and china/glasses for use. This is my second winter visit and I will be returning again and recommend it to anyone. Great location. We stayed in the building with the restaurant downstairs and the kids had an amazing experience with the staff inviting them to make pizzas. We were on the first floor and did not have much noise from the street

It would have been nice with a small fridge and a coffee maker in the room.

Needed a place to stay in Miami for one night, Ocean Five was a perfect location, easy access to the beach and everything necessary in a walking distance. Loved the charm of the old buildings, if you want new and modern, this place may not be for you.

The Ocean Five Hotel is a good quality tourist class hotel located in the quieter end of 'South of 5th' district of Ocean Drive, convenient for all amenities. As an older style 'art deco' hotel the rooms are large and comfortable with good a/c. Very clean and tidy. Joshua, Jorge and the other reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Good car parking facility aside the hotel. Nice quiet area, and an attached excellent cafe/restaurant for breakfast. David Baird - Scotland

Good location. Liked to see nature, trees, out of windows. Spacious and private. People very nice. Will return. Miami SOBE excellent - friendly, relaxed, safe atmosphere. Met people from the UK, Europe, everywhere who said they visited to find 'normal', 'freedom' and 'a place where good clinical evidence is followed' and Florida ticks those boxes. Everyone supported the governor's decisions to protect children and the public. We are doctors, we certainly agree with his decisions.

Kitchen a bit small, tricky as coffee maker takes a lot of space when in use. Hob took a very long time to heat for pasta to get water boiling 20-30min. All in all if the kitchen was more user friendly we would have used it more, but it was good enough. People were so friendly though, so we mostly snacked whilst socialising outside. Parking 25 dollars, but sometimes the parking attendant asks less. Will return though, but likely not at these high prices.

amazing location on South Beach. friendly staff, clean.

Very basic room. Miami was experiencing a rare cold front and at night it was in the lower 50s/upper 40s and windy- so I tried to use heat as only thin sheets were provided on the bed. The coils immediately smelled burnt to a crisp and set the smoke alarm off. The smoke alarm then continued to chirp evey few seconds, loudly, all night until I stood on something and got it to stop.

Fabulous staff and the restaurant bar next door is phenomenal and great fun. A really great spot to sit having a few beers and people watch.

There was a smell which was sort of drainage related but it didn’t ruin our vacation.

The room furniture were a little weathered (stained desk, faulty wardrobe drawer), but nothing seriously affecting our stay.

great location, so close to the beach. wonderful staff, very attentive and super kind and nice. Overall beds were comfortable, it was clean and parking was only $25. There is a breakfast cafe downstairs with cute decor and nice space to relax. Beach towels were provided. To access the building you need a room key, I felt very safe.

the hotel is dated. AC in my room didn’t work correctly, I had to set it at 64 to get some cold air out. also it had funny smell. No view but that’s ok, since we only came back to the room to sleep.
