Melrose Mansion is a lovely boutique property in a good location. The lobby was comfortable and our room was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast area was a nice touch. Although the hotel didn't have a proper restaurant or bar there was a friendly 24 hour spot across the street.

The windows are single pane and you can hear every sound outside, including conversations. The property is on a fairly busy street, so while this wasn't a deal breaker, it was a bit annoying since this property is fairly recently renovated. The property allowed a couple to invite 9 family members (6 children) to spend the entire day at the (very small) pool. They had floaties and took over much of the seating so that is was very hard for other hotel guests to use or enjoy the pool. The property needs to limit the number of outside guests allowed.

Loved that is was close to downtown and they had a 24/7 bar right across the street that we could grab a drink and something to eat whenever we wanted. The place is beautiful! The stairs are huge so keep that in mind if you want to stay in a room that is not a room on the ground floor. Emily was absolute amazing and showed us around the property and our room when we arrived at 11:30pm! The large rooms were breathtaking. The furniture was a little outdated and old but still very pretty. The breakfast was a continental breakfast with a couple of microwaveable sandwiches. The bagels were good. They had premade French toast that you just popped in the toaster and they were actually really good. The coffee was good and loved it was available all day until 10pm. Not the healthiest options but the breakfast did the trick for just needed something in your belly quickly before heading out. Parking was $55 a night, on top of the room fee which was a surprise. I thought it was a little step to use their parking lot even though we are staying on their property. It’s in the back alley as well and no one is watching it or there when you go out or come back at night so that was a little scary. There is security in the main house 24/7 so that was nice. The pillows were huge! I like a flat pillow and my friend likes big fluffy pillows but they were even big for her liking lol the room to only be able to cool to 70° which is usually hot in our opinion for sleeping but it stayed surprisingly cold with it being 70 in the room and it was very hot outside so we were pleasantly surprised. We would stay here again but probably wouldn’t get the balcony room again. The kitchen sink was very low pressure but not horrible, the shower had great pressure, we didn’t get a chance to use the rub.

The only thing I didn’t like was that we had to pay for parking and we were the only guest there the first night and 1 of 2 guest the second night so there was plenty of spots.

The location was perfect. On the edge of the French Quarter it is an easy walk into the middle of the revelry. Yet be in a quiet neighborhood with several nice restaurants and a good convenience store in walking distance. Beautiful homes to view along the way. A large room with a very comfortable bed. Extremely nice staff. Got some take out and spent a very enjoyable evening with Emily on the porch. Late check out.

Breakfast needs a boost. Pastries, bread, fruit, instant oatmeal. Coffee, hot tea and orange juice. No butter for 3 days. One guest went and bought some herself.

The property itself was so beautiful and having the pool was so nice in the New Orleans heat! It was fun staying in an old mansion but still having all the modern amenities. The staff was so nice and so helpful. And I don’t think you can beat the location. My friend and I had never been to New Orleans before and we worried about being too close to the French quarter with all the noise and partying. But it was far enough away that it was quiet at night but close enough that everything was within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again!

We pulled up after dark and I wasn't familiar with the neighborhood and a staff member , Emily, came out to greet us and showed us exactly where to park and helped us carry our things in. Emily was so helpful, welcoming and accommodating and my tension from the drive in was immediately relieved because her positive attitude and helpful nature. She showed us around, acquainted us with our surroundings and the staff , she showed us around our beautiful room. We had water , soda, ice and snacks available to us along with espresso we had the next morning. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was spacious with a shower and a large bath tub. Toiletries were also available, a robe, linens and adjustable lighting. The chandelier in the room with the high ceilings is gorgeous along with the beautiful, large windows. This was my daughter's first trip to New Orleans and I wanted her to have a unique experience and see how beautiful New Orleans really is and the Melrose Mansion with its wrought iron gates , high ceilings , wood floors and chandeliers was very impressive and she was so excited to be there. The neighborhood is also beautiful and easier to get around with street parking available also if needed. The staff went above and beyond at every turn and I can't say enough good things about them. I highly recommend staying here.

The Melrose mansion is gorgeous, perfect location for Frenchmen street and the French quarter. Short distance to Cafe du Monde and the French market. Inside the property it is filled with amazing architecture and history which staff are knowledgable to explain. Staff are amazing catering to all our needs, and always have us a warm welcome making us feel right at home. Breakfast every morning was a delight with an array of food for everyone. The rooms have all the amenities you could wish for alongside the potential to personalise your stay. This is a one of a kind touch that no other hotel I have been to provide. This was a breath of fresh air. My partner and myself would definitely recommend Roomza New Orleans Melrose Mansion to anyone wishing to have a personalised historic hotel near all main streets in New Orleans. We just wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely old mansion converted into a small hotel. Great location on Esplanade, with an easy walk to Frenchman St and the French Quarter. Our room had wonderful high ceilings and a fantastic marble bathroom with a huge tub and nice shower. The breakfast was good, mostly hot food from Buffa's across the street. Best of all, the staff was amazing - very friendly and welcoming. In particular, Emily was super helpful with tips on things to see in other parts of the city.

It would have been nice to have some cereals and toast for breakfast alongside the hot food.

The location was fantastic, next to the French Quarter and also Frenchmen Street but quiet at the same time. Just perfect. The building was beautiful, a grand mansion perfectly in keeping with New Orleans, with trendy, modern décor. The pool was great, really refreshing at the end of a long sightseeing day. The staff were really friendly.

Our pillows were quite hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was beautiful but a bit impractical, the access to the bath/shower could be difficult for some people. The breakfast was good but not very varied.

I loved the location. We were literally walking distance from everything! The French market, bourbon st., the cathedral, restaurants, the public transit… we didn’t have to move our vehicle at all. A lot of culture around the area. We loved it. The staff was AMAZING! Anything we needed, they were very accommodating! We had a hot breakfast every morning! And parking was free for the guest!

So, the first day we were there the elevator didn’t work. Our room was on the top floor so we had to walk up and down 4 flights of stairs, but it started working the next day, and our refrigerator didn’t work in our room for our entire stay, but we made due. The room could use a little updating.

Lovely property, well located to town, nice, clean and pretty period building. Complimentary extras such as cans of drink and crisps was a nice touch too.

There weren’t many people in the hotel on the first night so the hotel decided not to serve breakfast - they only told us at 8 when the breakfast was meant to be served. They gave us a voucher for a diner next door, but it didn’t open until 9, so we had to miss it. Then when we were leaving the next day, we had told the desk we would be leave early at 7, and were told there would be someone at the desk at that time. But when we got there, there was no staff about to check us out, or to assist when we couldn’t get the gate to open (to get our car out). No one answered the phone or returned our messages either. We managed to get out ourselves in the end, but were c50 mins late leaving - which was really frustrating. Had we been due to get a flight this would have been even worse.
