The location was fantastic. You're right by everything on the water, so its very walkable. The lobby looked nice and the staff were all very nice and helpful.

The room was an odd setup. The shower is in an open area so there's no door to the bathroom area (besides the toilet only), so definitely weird for people traveling together since there's not really a lot of privacy. Also, the parking was kind of expensive but honestly the street parking was so bad over there that we just paid to park. All of the street parking was either a max 2 hour parking or you could park there from 7pm-9am, so if you street park at night then you have to move your car by 9am. So honestly, paying the $40 a day (though expensive) was about the same price as everything else in the area and easier than dealing with street parking.

Aloft is located conveniently close to almost everything we wanted to experience in downtown Portland, and it's surprisingly affordable compared to other hotels in the city without sacrificing comfort. There are countless restaurants and shops within walking distance. Front desk and valet staff were welcoming, helpful, and professional in all of our encounters. The room itself was clean and quite comfortable, with a corner sofa and table for meals, and a spacious bathroom featuring a large walk-in shower and some of the most unique wallpaper I've ever seen. Rooms come equipped with a small smart fridge, which keeps beverages and leftovers much colder than the fridges I'm accustomed to in other hotels.

The cost of the valet parking, while on par with other hotels in the area, still seems very expensive. The hallways are rather narrow, which makes maneuvering around housekeeping carts tricky, particularly when pushing a luggage rack. I also would have liked to have a microwave in the room. These are minor issues however, and overall, we had a very pleasant visit. I would absolutely stay at Aloft again.

No opportunity to park your own car and no EV chargers in hotel garage.

I am not normally a fan of staying at chain hotels, but I have to admit in this case I was very pleasantly surprised! While this was clearly a corporate hotel, the front desk staff was actually really friendly, and the service across the board was great. I love how clean and efficient the rooms are.

The only thing I didn't like is really just a small nitpick. I used the gym several times, and it's a great little gym, but the lights on in the gym turn off very quickly and it happens while you are exercising. They only turn back on if you go to the sensor at the front of the room, but if you are running on a treadmill or weightlifting, the sensor can't see you! How annoying!! Still, that didn't detract from my stay so I still give this place a 10/10.

Very cool hotel with a GREAT view of the waterfront. Clean, trendy, and every staff member was incredibly nice. Valet Parking is $40 per night, but so simple to use. Simply scan the qr code you are given at the desk and it sends them a text. They tell you when your car is ready to pick up. I love that the floors with rooms can only be accessed with a key on the elevator. Just another level of safety. My only regret is that we only had one night.

I wish parking was a little cheaper, but it was super convenient to use. Thanks!

We stayed on the 6th floor for a night out. In the old port. The room was beautiful. The view was even better from the room. It was beautiful to look out the massive windows at night with all the lights and just as beautiful the next morning. The bar down stairs in the lobby made fantastic drinks they have a pool table in the lobby as well. We sadly left without trying the breakfast or anything else in the hotel beside the bar and enjoying the room. But it was very nice we will for sure go back and stay again my new favorite hotel in oldport.

Great location, walking distance to all the local restaurants, bars, activities and shopping. Beautiful property with very helpful front desk management. Nice spacious room with big window and fun lobby with a bar and seating.

This hotel allows dogs and there were way too many people bringing their dogs. We heard a dog barking in the room above us for the majority of our stay, seeing as they left their dog in the room all day. We notified the front desk twice and she was very nice and called the room, however it never resolved the issue. Disappointed since this was not an inexpensive stay. Would choose a different hotel next time to avoid this issue.

Booking.com messed up our booking so had to sit for half an hour at the counter trying to get it sorted..

We loved our stay at Aloft. The common areas were clean, and comfortable. The room felt very clean, and modern. The decor was fun! The bed was SO comfortable. We loved that the tv was on a moveable mount, so it could be easy to view from all areas. The view of the water was nice, too! We spent some time playing pool in the lounge area, and ordered drinks at the bar. The drinks were fantastic, and we loved getting to relax at the hotel. The fact that the hotel is just on the edge of the main Old Port area made it convenient enough to walk to great shops and restaurants, but not so in the middle of everything we felt overwhelmed.

The bathroom being mostly part of the open room was a bit awkward (the sink and shower area was divided off by a partial wall). A sliding door to the small toilet alcove is not something we're fans of anywhere, as it doesn't feel like it offers enough privacy. And, while the room had a cool, modern feel, the mostly bare floor and high ceiling did make it feel a bit echoy at times.

The breakfast sandwich I had was good, but I expected a full-service restaurant based on Booking.com’s description. Otherwise, the accommodations were great. The view from the hotel room was fantastic, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was excellent. Love the layout of the room.

I expected a full-service restaurant rather than just a refueling area. Booking.com indicated there was a restaurant on-site, but what was offered was merely pre-prepared food, which doesn’t align with the typical description of a restaurant.
