I ate at the union restaurant 3 times. Twice for dinner and once for brunch. It was incredible. I loved everything I ate and I was so impressed with the chefs. Their take on food was delicious and unique. The portions were perfect. Some places skimp out and they did not, and the quality was incredible. I will dream about that wedge salad and seaweed ranch, as well as the lobster Benedict I had!! Amazing. The staff were very kind and friendly too. My servers were all so kind! Good job, yall! I will definitely return.

It’s a little confusing coming into the union restaurant from the hotel side. I felt like I wasn’t always noticed or sure where to stand! Maybe have a sign that directs us to the host stand? Or have the host watch for hotel guests entering from the elevators.

Overall had a great stay! Modern, immaculate chain hotel, with a themed decor throughout; great luxurious bathroom, well-equipped rooms, great location. Parking/valeting is $40 a night, it was pain-free and feels expensive but was actually cheaper than paying for overnight parking in the lots nearby. Fantastic cocktails at the bar.

- Breakfast in the connected restaurant is not complimentary, which feels wild given the rooms rates. It was tasty, but expensive for what it was and slow service; after the first morning we just went and explored Portland's many cafés instead. - Joining the Wi-Fi is way more of a pain than it needs to be - it needs you to create a Marriott loyalty account. - We could hear the plumbing from other rooms - Bed was a bit too soft for us

It was an extremely nice hotel with a friendly staff and a welcoming environment. The beds were super comfortable, the TV was great, and the bathroom was nice as well. The shower was a bit unusual for me since it was on the ceiling, but if that’s your style, it’s a good feature. The water also got really hot, which was a nice touch.

Nothing was wrong with my stay it was a great experience!

This is an ideal location to walk or bike around all of downtown Portland. It was safe for me to walk at night as a woman, alone, down Market, Commercial streets, etc. I also LOVED the free shuttle service from 3:00 -11:00.

There were renovations during our stay, but they did move our room with a free upgrade so we were more comfortable. I also like complimentary coffee and water in the lobby but there wasn't...but these are minor things.

Location is prime for downtown Portland, and the thoughtful decorative touches were truly a sight to behold. The vintage typewriters, the lettered flooring, even the room number lighting. Just spectacular to take in knowing the space once held the Press Herald. Such a storied building!

The bathroom door wouldn’t close, almost if it was bolted to the hinge askew or something. Looking at the threshold, we could see the scrapes the door made over who knows how long. It definitely seemed like an ongoing issue. Maybe just a feature of the room? It was the only odd thing. Also, somewhat bothersome that it’s valet only. We’d left some things in the car after valeting, but didn’t want to put anyone through the hassle of retrieving the car just for a few random items.

It was an absolutely beautiful hotel, with the kindest staff I have ever come across. I don’t usually leave reviews but my experience here really made me want to leave one. Stay here if you’re visiting Portland! Nicest staff, beautiful hotel and immaculately clean!

I had a very difficult time getting on wifi They wont let you on to wifi unless you join their hotel club. I wont do that and couldn’t get on wifi Very disturbing to me Everywhere else the hotel gives you a password and you are in It made me feel negatively about the Marriot chain in general

Perfect location! Steps away from pretty much everything. 1 block from the heart of the Old Port, about a 10 minute walk from the State Theater.

There was off-season construction going on while we were there. It did not detract from the total experience, but it was definitely present. Especially the dumpster right outside our window! But renovations need to happen, and the off season is a great time to do them.

Good breakfast in a convenient location but, unfortunately, short on "Maine" blueberry muffins!

I had some "technical" issues with my room that because of my short stay never had a chance to be resolved. The hotel wanted to compensate me, however, because I booked on booking.com they could not. Good to know, lesson learned for future bookings.

We liked the hotel environment, the courtesy and convenience. It made our vacation restful and pleasant. We would recommend it to others as well. Thank you!

The food is a bit pricey at the hotel. Other than that, there is nothing poorly we could say.
