The property is very family oriented. There are many families staying there. It has a wonderful included breakfast with many quality options. It has a comprehensive fitness center. However some of the equipment needs to be serviced. The location is convenient to downtown but still off the main drag which makes it quieter. One complaint: I paid for a room with a harbor view, but did not get one. The term itself is misleading because the harbor is so blocked by buildings and far enough away that I am not sure a higher floor would help. The hotel took $20 off my bill ( $10 for each night) to compensate me but this was not satisfactory. They also took 1 night of parking ($35) off the bill for the lack of a harbor view and their inability to change my room to try to provide a view. Instead, I was looking out at telephone lines, electrical equipment and the street.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I have stayed in several hotels and I have never observed so many staff members who appear to truely enjoy making their customers happy.I got the impression they were happy in their workplace. It was very refreshing to see this.From the minute I checked in until I checked out the staff was very nice. I was surprised at the variety served at the breakfast buffet. I was expecting small boxes of cereal...I was wrong. The location is perfect.Portland is a "walking city". The beds are very comfortable.I was surprised at how well stocked the room was with everything you could need in a hotel room.

The room I had was dark due to where it was.There were many lamps in the room but it was still a bit too dark. This is the only tiny improvement needed to be done.Otherwise it is such a wonderful, clean, comfortable place to stay!

Staff accommodated for a late check-out with ease. All staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast was top-tier, and everything was super clean. The bar had a great atmosphere, and the hotel was easy to work with.

The airport shuttle service is a small operation. It was unclear that we were supposed to schedule the shuttle in advance after calling to confirm shuttles were available. On the phone when we arrived to the airport, there was a woman who was very impatient with our confusion. However, the shuttle service was great!! Just make sure to schedule before arriving.

Room: The kitchen was nice and open with clean and functioning appliances. The sheets were nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast: The selection was great and the area very clean and tidy. Location: Loved the location and the parking garage. The front desk staff were AMAZING at providing ideas for outings with my family as well as gestures of patience and kindness towards my children.

Room: Was a little tight on walking space around one of the bedrooms with a king size bed. Also asked for sofa bedding that included the most measly looking blanket and no comforter. Breakfast: I attempted to get an attendant to help with the waffle batter dispenser. I told her it had been working but now wasn't dispensing past a trickle, but she just shook up the container and walked away. I tested it and it still was not working that great. Decided to just eat something else. The next day it was working fine again.

The staff were all amazing. Bean and the other front desk employees were so kind. My friend had an unexpected medical emergency, and everyone was kind and helpful. Mikayla from housekeeping was also extremely kind. The breakfast selection was very good, too. The laundry facility was great... detergent was included with the cost of the washer. $3.00 Pet friendly! My Sweet dog, Olive made herself at home. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the outside area with the fire pit. (2nd floor), but we hope to on another stay!

We wanted more space for our one-year-old to roam around, so if you want a bigger room, this hotel is one of the only options in Portland. The location was pretty good. There's an inner courtyard on the 2nd floor that has a grill and sitting areas, which was great for our toddler to run around in. Pool seemed to be in good shape. The breakfast was excellent and probably the highlight of our stay -- Horizon organic boxed milk for kids, soft and fluffy english muffins, real scrambled eggs (not from powder), oatmeal bar with lots of toppings, and blueberry compote made from Maine wild blueberries.

The stay was generally good but we had a couple of nitpicks. The room wasn't as big as we imagined from the photos and had an awkward layout -- bathroom was at the far end of the room. We were supposed to get a harbour view but only got a sliver of water since we were on the 2nd floor and there was a building in the way. The heat in our room couldn't be set above 76 degrees -- we wanted to set it warmer for our one-year-old since he was getting cold overnight and would wake up in the morning with cold feet. We had to ask multiple times over several days before it finally got fixed. Hotel was pretty pricey.

Great location of hotel for walkability to ferry, restaurants, shopping. The room was big. Nice kitchen w/ big fridge w/icemaker. Comfy bed! Housekeeping picked up our trashbag & dirty towels by our door & dropped off new towels & toilet paper rolls. Breakfast was ok. Loved the fruit, yogurt & coffee & juices.

The sofa smelled like poop after 3 days. A previous guest must've had a pet accident. I febreezed it & it was ok. Housekeeping did not make up our room during our stay. The breakfast was ok if you got there early. Late arrivals has less choices. Need more gluten-free options & fresh fruits. Eggs were gross.

I liked the breakfast and would’ve loved a different variety every day…pancakes or French toast. I love how clean residence Inn is and it is quiet. The bed was very comfy. My kids loved the pool and workout room….and the breakfast. Thank you!

The $30 per night parking fee! $90. If we had stayed for 6 nights….$180. Is ridiculous!

The room was a great size. There was a king bed and a pullout couch. It had a sink, stove top, and fridge. The breakfast was great, lots of choices. My daughter also loved the pool.

The room smelled like fried food. I think the people in the room before us had been eating in the room, some Fabreeze would have helped. The couch also appeared to be stained.

The staff was VERY friendly, helpful and gracious. The room and facility had all of the amenities that we wanted/needed. The kitchen was well supplied. Breakfast was yummy. The location was perfect; we were able to walk to everything that we wanted to visit...all of the fun parts of Portland. The patio was nice; I wish we had had time to grill and eat out on the patio; the weather would have been perfect for that. We usually stay in airbnb's because most of the time we can get more bang for our buck, but this hotel was so reasonable and was such a great value, that in Portland, at least, we will be staying here.

The pillows were a little bit lacking but what a silly complaint given all that was right with this facility!
