Staying at Blind Tiger (Danforth) was like staying in our own private mansion. There are only 9 guest rooms, but it feels like home. It's a gorgeous, cool, beautifully decorated guest house that exceeded expectations. The staff were fantastic, anything you might need is provided & breakfast and parking are such a sweet bonus. Beautiful living rooms, a stocked pantry, a bar to make your own cocktails (BYOB), and cute little sitting areas throughout the house. Our room was cozy, and the staff checked in on us daily via text. I would stay again and again. Maggie even arranged for us to upgrade our tickets to VIP at a show at Thompson's Point and gave us a bunch of fabulous local reccos. It's little touches like that that not only make a guest feel special but elevate a stay. Staying at Blind Tiger made our trip better than we could have imagined!

The entire experience was as if we were visiting a dear friend's comfortable and cozy home. The rooms are incredibly spacious with no design element left unattended. I felt like I had walked into an Anthropologie store less the clothes. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING decor. The breakfast buffet spread was perfect with options for all. About a 20-min walk to downtown through neighborhoods or along the wharf was fine. We drove to town when it was a little too chilly. I would stay here again, and again, and again! Thank you!

I loved everything about this place!

Such a nice experience; I would have liked to have stayed longer! I arrived in Portland around 11 am on the day of my stay, and the hotel was great about letting me check in early, which was much appreciated. The concept is so unique without feeling hokey or contrived. The downstairs "living area" is so relaxing and spacious, with cool art and good books, comfy stylish furniture. Loved the morning breakfast and all the coffee/tea offerings, etc. And the staff were all fun and helpful. Highly recommend.

Artistic eclectic decor, abundant healthy breakfast options, ambiance, ambiance, ambiance!

I would have started a fire if the started logs were already set up in the fireplace. I don’t know where they were. My husband would have loved a drink, but we didn’t realize Maine is dry. (Our bad) There was an ironing board, but no iron! Not a biggie. We didn’t even ask. Just thoughts for future guests🥰

Absolutely gorgeous space - warm, welcoming, cozy, well decorated, and lovely special touches Including an open snack pantry with local snacks, espresso bar, tea, etc. The staff was welcoming and they do a fantastic job making you feel at home and feel comfortable lounging around the hotel in your socks and sweats - just like being at a close friend’s house

The Blind Tiger on Danforth was absolutely lovely!! The 200 year old house is a gem nestled in the heart of Portland And fun like old houses can be with all their glory and lore like a billiard room in the basement that once was a speakeasy rooms ,stairways windows and gardens at every turn Our room named the Event Records (I think something like that) had a little turntable and albums!! I happen to be a huge fan of vinyl so there you go Sooooooo.... The decor and art thoughtful and engaging bathroom huge windows wonderful bed super comfy books in the sitting rooms excellent staff helpful breakfast delightful the whole atmosphere was gracious chill I would definitely go back and I would recommend to a friend in fact I already have AND they have parking on the premises

The homemade yogourt at breakfast was incredible! Staff was exceptionally helpful and kind!

The doors to the bedrooms have a large gap at bottom of door making the noise communication a problem, I would strongly recommend refurbishing the doors to have a better fit and ideally a dropsill like modern hotels…

A great boutique spot - not too close or too far from the center of Portland, and some of the best hospitality I’ve experienced in a while. The staff is excellent!

The only issue we had was the hot water took about 10 mins to get warm…. It’s an old building!

beautiful design, welcoming, helpful reception, good hands-off service, less is more nice breakfast presentation, interesting and clever offering,

self-making cappuccino machine inadequate, overhead bed lights no switch off, bathroom ceiling paint peeling, toilet seat dirty (unacceptable), key lock finicky, drafty window. finition aren't perfect in the bedroom... painting, boards missing under the bed, old window, bad painting job unfortunately those few details alter the initial impression

Fireplaces!

The sheets (micro fiber that won’t breath turning hot sleepers into sweat soaked guests). You are basically sleeping on plastic. I knew this about the Lark chain, so I brought my own sheets. Also, some rooms can be noisy based on overhead guests or hallway action. It behaves like the old house it is.
