Perfect location, love that it has a pool. Breakfast was great and the staff are next level in their service. Shout out to the concierge, Peter, who is better at his job than any 5 star hotel I’ve stayed in around the world. You can just message him with any questions over WhatsApp and he can organise everything for you, tell you where to go, make restaurant bookings etc.

They want you to pay in cash when you arrive. This isn’t advertised on the booking.com page so we weren’t prepared. We did push back because all our holiday money was on the credit card, and they did let us use the card, but we incurred a 5% fee.

All likes! Staff: Vivien was our main point of contact at this hotel, and they truly made our time a delight here. They checked in with us every day (as did other staff when they weren't there) to make sure we had a good night and breakfast, and if there was anything to improve. If we wanted to book a massage at the hotel's spa, a table at the restaurant, airport travel, the water puppet show etc., we just had to message Vivian on WhatsApp and they'd sort it out for us. Vivian also recommended us some food places in Hanoi, and she did not steer us wrong as all of them hit it out of the park. In general, the service from Nyugen, Eugene and the rest of the staff (too many to name here as they are all great!) really made our stay here the highlight of our trip and a real home base we were comfortable coming back to after surviving Hanoi City centre! A nice touch was that they helped us cross the road when trying to get into the hotel, which takes a bit of practice in Hanoi if you're not used to it. Tour bookings: We booked all our tours through them and they did not steer us wrong as we had a wonderful time at Ninh Binh and a cruise through the UNESCO sea area (included Ha Long Bay). (Vivian sorted this too!) I really liked how each of the tour ideas was a physical book we could flip through which was a nice touch. Room: Considering it is the old quarter of Hanoi, the rooms aren't huge, but they are a decent size. The mattresses are a nice firmness, the shower has good pressure and the toilets have a bidet. The cleaners do a good job every day. They also checked the room to see if we had forgotten anything as we were checking out too! Which I've never seen anywhere before. General hotel notes: It smells really nice! They have these diffusers throughout the hotel (you especially notice it when you first come in), and if you like the smell you can purchase it. If I ever return to Hanoi, I'm booking this hotel.

Great hotel in the heart of Hanoi tourist area. Go outside of the hotel directly to restaurants, spa and massage places and full of shops. The hotel and rooms and very comfortable and nicely designed and stuff is eager to help.

Only payment option was cash. We were even willing to pay by credit card with commission, but the option was not there.

This is a lovely hotel so convenient for all the sights of Hanoi Old Town. It felt like an oasis coming in from the busy streets. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Breakfast was delicious with pastries, excellent coffee, fresh fruit and a choice of eggs and traditional Vietnamese food. Fantastic views across the city from the restaurant as well. The Sky Bar has a panoramic view of the city as well as excellent cocktails. It was a special experience to watch the sun set over the Hanoi skyline. The pool was small but great for cooling off, again with a stunning view. However, the most special thing about this hotel is the staff, who were welcoming, friendly and really made us feel at home. Special thank you to Taylor and Vivian who went above and beyond to give us lots of tips and recommendations. I would absolutely recommend GM Hotel to families travelling to Hanoi.

Hmmm.. just kidding! Don’t even hesitate and book your stay in this hotel straight away! The location is excellent, the rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is tasty and the views from the pool and sky bar are spectacular! Impossible is nothing for Ms Vivian she will help you with anything at any time! Thank you for looking after us and making our stay unforgettable :) we will definitely stay with you again!

Beautiful hotel in good location in the old quarter. The staff were very friendly with no pressure. Vivian was particularly kind and ensured we truly felt at home. After we left we needed some advice which Vivian provided. We were so impressed we booked to stay here again when we return to Hanoi next week. Highly recommend

Pool was very small. Pictures are deceiving. Don't stay here is you plan on lounging by the pool. There is literally nowhere to sit and sunbathe.

The hotel is immaculately clean, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The pool is nice and cold which is great for the Hanoi heat! All the staff from the minute you walk in are very friendly and helpful with bags ect and welcoming you. We stayed twice once before going to Halong bay and then when we came back. We were given a free upgrade on our room on our first stay which was great. The hotel is a great central location so close to everything, beer street and loads of shopping and good food places! But still felt like a relaxing place to stay in the middle of Hanoi. We had the lovely Hope check us in and was our first point of contact for anything we needed. She was fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Hope answered questions and sent information for reunification day/train street and regularly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Overall we loved the hotel and would definitely recommend staying here.

The bar is a little pricey for Vietnam standards but is still cheaper than UK and the cocktails/food we did have were really good.

From the moment we arrived till the day we left, the GM Hotel and its staff offered exemplary accomodation and service. Nothing was too much trouble - warm smiling greetings everyday, valuable local knowledge, professional concierge bookings, prompt room service, top notch laundry service, willingness to listen to requests and any incidental yet considerate offerings. Our terrace room provided a private space and sanctuary for our 8 day stay mid May. Either early morning or late at night on the terrace with a cold drink in hand absorbing the amazing surrounding sounds and sights of Hanoi. The GM Hotel is ideally located. Communication prior to arriving was professional and helpful The generosity of spirit on offer made us a little sad when saying good bye to the GM Hotel and the friendships we made with the thoughtful staff.
