It was only £22 for three nights and the best thing was it was family run and owned. Really helpful and friendly. Right in the middle of the old quarter. They did my laundry in re hours, washed, smelling nice and pressed, all for less than £1.

Nothing.

The hotel is in the center, but not in the middle of the chaos, so it’s quiet, I slept like a baby every night. The water was hot, room was very clean, you get water everyday. Lots of restaurants around, train street is like 8min walk from the hotel, the cathedral is like 10min walk, there’s an small supermarket open 7/24 5min away walk. I took a grab to visit the other attractions and they were pretty close. The owners are friendly and helpful, they arrange me transportation from the airport. I would definitely choose this place in Hanoi!

I just feel a little bit bad to wake up the guy to open the door for me cause I arrived late, but that’s on me haha.

Our days in Hanoi were enriched by the family running the hotel. They were extremely kind, patient and helpful. Simply wonderful people. The very best :) The hotel is very centrally located, yet in a quiet little street. It was not noisy. The rooms are of a good size, have air conditioning and separate bathrooms.

All in all, we left our accommodation feeling very positive and cheerful, as the family made up for any shortcomings with their endless kindness. Unfortunately, I have to mention that the hotel could do with some renovation and painting.

So happy we chose Tung Trang for our stay/base in Hanoi. Best location in the Old Quarter, located in a quiet alley way. Part of the alleyway around the corner becomes a local hive of activity in the morning with fruit & meat venders selling their produce. Fabulous to see. We had a room with balcony looking over the houses and a beautiful tree. The room & bathroom were spacious & had everything you need. Nhung and her family were so helpful the minute we arrived and she booked our transport to Cao Bang for us. We are looking forward to coming back after some exploring in the north. Cam on Tung Trang for having us.

The best place I stayed at in Hanoi! Very conveniently located, a few minutes walk to one of the main streets in the Old Quarter, but my room faced a smaller street, so it was rather quiet. I got a room on the 5th floor with a big balcony, which I absolutely felt in love with! The facilities are modern, there is a lift (not every house in Old Quarter has it...). The room was nice and comfortable. The staff was really helpful, with good English, so no communication issues at all. I arranged for a laundry to be done, and it came back the same day, all perfectly washed and ironed. Many thanks, will come back!

I had some troubles with my room card, but that's just me not being tech-savvy, so nevermind.

I had a great stay at this hotel in Hanoi! The location in the heart of the Old Town was absolutely perfect—close to everything, yet wonderfully peaceful due to the no-car access. It felt like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The family-owned atmosphere made the experience even more special. The service was impeccable; every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were always happy to assist with anything I needed, from local tips to arranging transport. The warm and personal touch, combined with the quiet, central location, made this hotel a standout choice. I couldn’t recommend it more and would definitely return!

This is a family run hotel in a very special location on a very ancient street and what i wonderful family from the beautiful 96 years old great grandmother to the 8 months old baby - wonderfully curious and the 73 years old Irishman and his guitar. I think everyone working there was family and when i commented to Nhung on how impressed i was with the kindness of her sister, Trang, she explained that the hotel policy was firstly to care for the guests and that the money was secondary. This wasn’t just talk but exactly how it felt. Cam on. I’ll be back.

There was nothing not to love about it - a very old building but every bit as modern inside as much newer buildings.

The location was the best, it was near to almost all the must visits. Best part, it was situated in an alleyway whereby larger vehicles cant enter, only bikes or cycles making the place rather quiet and peaceful. Within a short walk, less than a min, u reach a street full of street foods on one side, and on the other, a wet market which you get the experience the daily life of locals coming to get local produces. Very friendly service, my TV in the room was not working, they quickly replaced it with a new unit which worked fine upon feedback.

The food provided in the minibar had expired, the staff probably did not realise. Feedback to the host during checkout, she took note of it. Other than that, everything else was fine.

Excellent location in the old quarter, convenient to a wide range of food choices, but also really quiet since it's on a small alley with no cars. Beds are comfortable, shower was good, elevator to reach upper floors was helpful. Staff was wonderful, with the exception of the night person, who my daughter found difficult to work with when she had some serious maintenance issues in her room. The maintenance issues were resolved.

The room I was in was smaller than the photos indicated, and it was difficult to open our suitcase all the way and still have room to walk .

The location was perfect for us, right in the old quarter near great restaurants, yet very quiet at night, due to its location on a narrow alley. The staff was great, except as noted below. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. We felt the hotel was a good value for the price.

Our room was smaller than we were expecting, and it was pretty tight with our luggage. While we had no problems with our room, our daughters' room had a few issues (the first night their door alarm kept going off in the night, and they returned one evening to find the refrigerator had leaked a lot of water onto the floor). They called the night manager for these issues and apparently he was pretty rude to them.
