The name Mega View Hotel couldn’t be more fitting — we had a room on the third floor with an absolutely stunning view of the mountains. The room was clean, cozy, and we especially loved having a private balcony to relax on and soak in the scenery. The hotel offers very affordable and delicious breakfasts. One morning we tried eating out in town instead and honestly regretted it — the hotel’s food was much better! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the owner was incredibly helpful, providing us with a list of recommended restaurants and spas. The ones we tried were excellent. We also really enjoyed the trekking experience to a nearby village. Our guide was from the Hmong tribe and spoke excellent English, which made the experience even more special and insightful.

Loved this place - Wonderful service (and jokes) from the host- he booked me a fantastic bus to Ninh Binh with picks ups to/from hotel and it was effortless! Very attentive and has an amazing memory for all his guests activities! I also went on the one day trekking tour with a guide NiNi which was EXCELLENT - authentic, beautiful scenery and she took us away from other tourist groups. Location is awesome, close to plenty cafes/shops. Yes there are stairs, but if you are mobile it’s fine. View from the rooftop floor is epic - perfect place for a coffee or beer!

some street noise as expected (probably would be minimal from the higher up rooms!)

I had an absolutely amazing time at the Mega View Homestay! After 1.5 months in Vietnam, I can confidently say it was one of the best accommodation I've experienced. It's in an incredible location, right in the heart of the city but still super quiet. You're right near both city attractions/restaurants and stunning natural beauty. The owner is incredibly kind and can arrange everything for you, like bus transfers, tours, and more. He's always there for you, ready to answer any questions or just chat. My family room was stunning — huge, super clean, and beautifully furnished! The breakfast selection is delicious, and the homestay also offers trekking tours, which I highly recommend.

Be prepared to walk up and down a lot of stairs - but that's not the homestay's fault :-)

The mega view hostel, is exceptional in so many ways, the host Diego is a legend, always happy and checking everything is OK, he went out of his way to help me with my transfers. The food is lovely and the variety is good. The hostel is very clean and cosy. They arranged my trips and provided maps of the town with points of interest. The showers are hot and beds clean and comfortable, I would stay here again and again, highly recommend this beautiful hostel, with stunning views from the roof top terrace. It takes a lot to beat such high standards, I was very happy here.

There is nothing I did not like about this hostel. The location is on a road with steps, however it is accessible for scooters and has a ramp running along side the steps.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the staff were super, incredibly helpful and nice, telling me what there is to do around, booking the fansipan, my transport to Hanoi (a VIP bus that had a free breakfast at the bus station). The 1 day trek was really good and recommend it! I liked the common area, was great to socalise and talk to others. There is a separate room for luggage. The view top is amazing! Super cheap but what you received is not "cheap" per say

Tgere was no light by your bed, so it was hard to see anything in there. Had to keep using my phone flashlight to do anything. You have to pay to refill your drink bottle, which I thought was a little cheeky.

Good location just off the main street. People have complained about the steps, but they're not that bad. Possibly more difficult if you have a suitcase, but otherwise fine. Room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The people on front desk were also very helpful with any questions we had. We booked a tour through them and were lucky that no one else had booked on and basically had a private tour of Sapa. Our guide Nini was lovely and we really learnt a lot from her about her life.

Sometimes the staff tried to be overly helpful with booking tickets for things that we could do ourselves. Sometimes this made me feel uncomfortable as I had to keep saying no in a situation where I felt slightly pressured to say yes. A more hands off approach by other members of staff was preferred. Otherwise everything was good.

Liked being in a quieter area, but still only a 3ish minute walk from the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was very good and filling, for only 60,000VND. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of outlets in the room. You can sit in the lobby after you check out which is really kind of them. The views from the roof and from the mountain view rooms are amazing!

There isn't anywhere very comfortable to sit in the room. Accessing the hotel requires going down about 100 steep and uneven stairs, which could be difficult for some travelers.

Great view. Clean. Spacious. Big comfy bed. Balcony. Homely. Quirky. Located on a quiet road not accessible to cars with lots of children playing and having fun. It was lovely. We arrived at 5.30am on the overnight bus from Hanoi. Free shuttle bus. Foyer was open and I was able to freshen up. I was offered breakfast on the morning of my arrival instead of an alternate day as I had a very early start to climb Fansipan and early breakfast could not be accommodated

Breakfast not as generous as other accommodations we experienced in Vietnam. For example, only one drink in the morning. I had to choose coffee over a juice. My partner thought the bed was too hard but I liked it a lot.

Diageo and his wife that run the property are soooo hospitable and it felt like home as soon as I arrived. I came in late on bus and they made sure I get in ok 😊😊 Most comfortable bed and sheets Heating for those cold Sapa nights and days so so warm!!

Breakfast could’ve been bigger! I could’ve eaten double what they gave me. Shower runs out of hot water, wish I’d known so I could be more speedy! Great tour of rice fields offered by hotel, reasonable price. Only thing is I wish we’d been told about the Hmong ladies who will want us to buy things at the end of the tour, just so I could’ve been prepared. Only small, everything else perfect and I didn’t want to leave 😊
