The large walk-in shower with 12 wall shower heads, two waterfall shower heads, and a large overhead rain shower head is GREAT! Great water pressure & lots of hot water. Same with the spa whirlpool tub. It fills fast, has good jets & is plenty big enough for two. Great addition also, having our own sauna in the room. Everything was clean and orderly. Also nice, is having your own little back patio complete with chairs & a small table that overlooks a wooded area. Good breakfast with a very tasty potatoes & sausage dish, waffles, good selection of pastries, cereals, yogurt, coffees, juices & all the things you would expect.

Needs a clock radio. I think they're currently having an issue with the pool smelling musty, (humidifiers running in the hallway) and our room was near the pool so it kinda smelled that way too, but we opened up our door to the patio for a while & it aired out. This is an older hotel. It needs updates, especially in the downstairs hallway. My advice is to not pay too much attention to the rest of the hotel, because it's a whole different world when you enter the Fantasy Suites rooms and they are GREAT!

This was our very first visit to Galena, and we truly can't wait to do it again! Best Western was a great place to stay would definitely stay there again. The breakfast was phenomenal. We truly can't speak highly enough about Miriam the front desk agent 🫶🏻 From the first moment we met her for our check-in till the time we checked out she is an absolute fabulous employee you have there. We told her at our checkout we truly hope we see her again & will definitely look her up next time we visit Galena Illinois!!! 💕

Staff was excellent. Very accommodating and available. Front desk area and breakfast area clean. Food choices were ok … nothing fancy but able to fill your belly and be on your way. Bed mattresses were ok. A little worn in for my standards but again got our short trip they worked out fine. Towels were newer and absorbent .. not luxury towels but better than most places. Easy access to town and to ski area.

Older flooring and mattresses. Nothing disgusting just used and looked it. Mattresses were very soft.

Location for breakfast was very convenient. I love the balcony. Wish I could have arrived before dark. Very quiet heater/conditioner. This is rare. Very comfortable bed. Real bar soap for the shower! A very pleasant stay. A real value.

Breakfast selection at 7:45 am was somewhat limited. I normally hate reserving with a 3rd party. I wish hotels would show their phone #. However, booking.com (Monday nite) was seamless. I was able to pay at checkin and get a receipt with no hassles.

Loved the jacuzzi tub in our room! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. My husband says he could tell the breakfast was made with love. Nice selection of bagels, cereal, hard boiled eggs, hot eggs, biscuits and gravy (delicious), yogurt, orange juice, cranberry juice, milk, and a 24 hour coffee bar. Pool was nice, just small. We ended up spending more time in the room jacuzzi. Room was fairly large and bed was comfortable. We had plenty of towels available.

Bathroom was a little tight quarters, room was a bit dated but could see that it had been partly updated. Curtains had a rip, and wall decor was old. Don't feel that paying extra for a balcony was worth it unless you stay on top floor because ac unit from room balcony above drips water on you while you're sitting in the chairs.

Room was comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was GREAT

No TV channel guide in the room. Had to write the channels down on piece of paper, instead of having to remember the channel guide on the TV. I wonder why you offer 4 HBO channels and 4 ESPN channels. No Sci-fi, Game show network. No Sports program channels were I could watch the Cubs, Cardinals, or White Sox

Hotel was fantastic. The weekend ended up being rain and fog, so we were not able to enjoy the annual downtown Galena night of luminaria and living windows on Sat. 12/14. That was the only bad thing about this weekend

Room decor was nice with the cabin feel. nice to have a door to balcony.

Shower did not drain - I had to lift the spout to drain water. no elevator to top floor. garbage was over flowing in lobby/kitchen when we checked in @ 4:30 from breakfast.

The freshness of everything was comforting. The location was perfect

The heat was going up the drapes. We used a few items to block the drapes away from the airflow

The hotel was clean and the employees were great.

More diabetic friendly breakfast items. Sunday the only protein I could have had was eggs…. The other days had sausage avail too but sunday it was replaced with biscuits and gravy.
