Sign in car park says pay for parking on arrival. I paid £36 for 3 days. On booking in l was told I didn't have to pay. I was told this would be cancelled but am still waiting for the refund.

I was treated like a VIP!! I spent almost 3 weeks here while visiting my daughter.

Day one and I thought i was going to be hot with the heating and was offered a fan. I got ice every night for drinks in the room and nothing was a problem. All of The staff from reception to house keeping were fantastic, helpful and generous with their assistance and time no matter what I needed. They brought out colouring books and pens for my granddaughter, and did a little extra for her 2nd birthday ice cream, with a "happy birthday" in chocolate syrup on the plate! I will stay here again, but with a room with a fridge! Thank you team basildon holiday inn, you were the best!!

Walked in front door and staff called out and said Hi Welcome Holiday Inn. Possibly friendliest hotel ever stayed in. With over30 yrs as a travel agent in my past I have stayed in a lot hotels. Room spacious and bathroom good size with bath and large counter for items. Dined in hotel last night curry was very good and reasonably priced. Think £16 I’ve re booked for Dec.

Have to pay for parking upon arrival. Would have liked the option to have that included and sorted before arrival. The. Information was not clear that it is immediately outside the front door and cost set daily rate reasonable.

Excellently placed for us for visiting family and friends Friendly and helpful staff Great breakfast choices, especially as one of our party is coeliac , the restaurant staff remembered this on our second morning and brought him gluten free sausages and toast

Our room was clean but quite tired, decor wise, which gave the impression that it wasn't as clean as it could have been. Nothing that a general spruce up wouldn't fix Overall, it did seem expensive, especially when breakfast was not included in the price and we had to book it separately, adding to the cost

stayed at a number of places during 2 month stay in UK and can say without a doubt this property had THE best customer service I experienced. Booked an accessible room only to discover there was shower over the bath which i used once but felt very unsafe - so requested to be moved to 'mainstream' room as i would only be able to have a wash NOT a shower .. it happens .. At this point the operations manager was involved and tbh I doubt i have ever met anyone in hospitality more capable. of course the issue of shower over the bath could not be resolved but every effort was made to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible - thanks Christy .. just amazing

Property is not equipped to be accessible - showers are over the bath and dining room is upstairs no lift ... having said this however staff were more than happy to run upstairs and grab breakfast if i had've wanted it. As it was .. I did manage to get into the shower of a mainstream room (I know bizarre - right) and i did go back for a second stay and would not hesitate to go back again .. just wont work if you're a wheelchair user

If you’re a member of IHG the car park is free. Able to cater for food allergies/intolerances. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfasts good quality and catered for all needs. Bar food well catered. Good seating areas. Bedroom had tea/coffee facilities with good sized silent room fridge. All linen clean.

The air conditioning in the bedroom wasn’t working efficiently so room stuffy. Areas around bath taps needed to be rectified as they looked stained and appear dirty. Bathroom very small to the extent if you had an accident and fell I doubt if anyone assisting would be able to get in. Room carpet looked as if it could have done with a clean although it had been vacuumed. Lighting in the room needs to be improved as it was hard to see in the main bedroom although bathroom lights were good.

I stayed over as we had a family event on. Firstly, the staff are so friendly, polite and helpful as soon as you walk through the door. The room was a good size , very clean and comfortable. The bed is one of the most comfortable ever. Didn't want to get up for the delicious breakfast the next morning. Lots of variety at breakfast and lovely quality. Having stayed at a number of Holiday Inns, this stands out as one of the best. I liked that this is very family-friendly and with a great atmosphere. The staff never seemed to stop, but always a smile. The price I paid for the night was exceptional value for money. Have stayed before and would definitely like to stay again. Our family was very impressed with our event as well as the service we received. Thank you all.

Good sized room and comfortable bed. Powerful over bath shower. Basic tea/coffee making facilities - no biscuits! Breakfast - continental and cooked all fine and plentiful. Very welcoming staff at reception and friendly helpful in restaurant at breakfast. Location fine for our one night stay after RHS Hyde Hall visit and leaving for home next day. Plenty of meal and entertainment options on the retail/leisure site - or could have eaten in the evening at the hotel. We at at the Turkish restaurant in the entertainment centre - huge place, very welcoming and good meal. Car parking immediately in front of hotel, charged £12 for our stay from 5.30 pm to 10.30 am the next day. Charging is 'dynamic' apparently - maybe cheaper/free if IHG member????

Nothing to dislike really - if have to find something then no extractor fan in bathroom (or at least one that worked), no toilet brush, no separate hair conditioner and no biscuits!!

We were guest for a wedding and Pedro the night manager went out of his way to make our stay comfortable thanks Pedro you made our day Changing rooms to suit the needs of some of the guest waa done with compassion understanding and a lot of support the night team have great problem solving skills and gentle calm approach they went over and above to resolve complex things thank you Exceptional.stay

The new aircon was ok but it was so complicated as it had no instruction. It made noise all night we couldnt switch it off staff in all their willigness didnt know how to operate. It made air so dry n uncomfortable . Shame as the beds wete so comfy n clean but other than that it was a great room and spacious

The staff were very friendly and so helpful. I use crutches and they offered to have breakfast brought down to me so I didn't have to use the stairs.

The only complaint I have and it's not a huge thing is I had disturbed sleep the last 2 nights due to a snorer in another room. I had earplugs so it helped but it was annoying when I was trying to watch tv to relax before bed. Not much the staff could do even if I had reported it
