I love how central Wynyard hotel is to everything!! Given that this is a budget hotel, do NOT expect the Ritz!! You want that! Pay the extra, no one will mind!!! There may not be a lift! Only stairs! So what! If its not your cup of tea! Move on, but don't b**** and complain after the fact!! ITS ALL WRITTEN INFORMATION BEFORE YOU BOOK!! FYI!... there is no spilt system!! Again so what!!! There is ceiling fans and one of those portable stand up air cons and guess what surprise it does the trick!!! Good enough for comfort!! The windows open wide too (no fly screen) And let's be honest given the price in Sydney! You ain't really gonna be using the hotel facilities!! So with that enjoy the budget hotel! It's central! It's great value for money, you have a shared kitchen (free fruit, coffee, tea, water etc) 2 x toilet with shower (both spacious) and even a laudry that has a washer and dryer free of charge!! Like how amazing is it to have have such a place! Right in the heart of the Sydney CBD... for a low cost!!! Big shout out to the staff!! They were absolutely brilliant, couldn't fault them.

Inconsiderate guests! There is a communal kitchen and 2 shared bathrooms! The entitlement that some guests think they have!! Ie leaving the shower tap slightly turned on causing the water to treckle constantly, not flushing the toilet after use, leaving the lights on, and just basic things like that!! It cost the business extra money each time guests do these things and while it may not appear to be much it all adds up...

Aside from the confronting exterior, one might assume the interior would match. In fact the bar staff were friendly and so were the patrons. the rooms were as described. basic but highly functional. i dont expect families will have a great experience, but for travellers passing through its a perfectly adequate accomodation. as a solo male traveller, didnt feel unsafe at any time.

Toothpaste and a disposable toothbrush may have been handy. Easily solved with a trip to Coles but toothpaste could have been provided easily considering everything else that was provided which was great. left my leftover toothpaste for future travellers One of the Bathroom gets flooded after a shower. Needs a little work, but does the job. Another cheap and handy addition to the rooms would have been a power board with USB ports for charging devices instead of just basic powerboards. I think many people would like not to have to carry heavy charging devices. Just a minor suggestion. Wasn’t really provided check out instructions so was left confused when no staff was at the location in the morning at checkout time: just leave the keys in the room when leaving.

We liked the rooms. Beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. There were two bathrooms in the hall which helped since they were shared bathrooms. There was a kitchen with a bit of food available (bread for toast or sandwiches, a bit of cereal, and a bit of milk). There seemed to be a lack of spoons for some reason. The pub was below us but we didn’t have a problem with noise. Maybe we got lucky. They did have ear plugs for us.

There was no AC. There were fans in the rooms, but we needed to open the window to help keep the rooms cool. This led to a bit of city traffic noise to deal with when sleeping.

Great location in the center of the central business district. Good hosts. Cool pub on the ground floor. Comfortable bed, effective portable room heater.

No elevator so we had to carry our heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Shared bathroom near our room was out of order so we had to use bathrooms farther away. Bathroom floors were sticky. Shared toiletries provided in the common bathrooms (soap, shampoo, conditioner) were not refilled promptly. Creaky room floors. The TV in our room did not seem to work.

Very reasonable price for the location. Short 10 min walk to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly in welcoming us late in the evening and getting all our overseas travel cases up the stairs to our room and then they stored them for us after checkout while we explored Sydney for the day, before heading to the airport. The beds were very comfortable with nice linen. The kitchen with continental breakfast supplies was an added bonus we enjoyed. The rooms and shared bathrooms are very basic and nothing flashy, but clean and comfortable and met our needs.

It's an old hotel and while there's been some renovations over the years, it is very basic accommodation. We were okay with that but others may want more luxury and the convenience of a lift not just stairs. There was noise from the street until quite late given it's location, which didn't keep us awake but some may find it too noisy.

Highly enjoyed my stay. The bed was very comfortable, the room was a good size, clean and had everything I needed. The shared bathroom was a lockable room with a shower, basin and toilet screened from the shower by a wall - it was clean and spacious and nicely fitted out. Two bathrooms per floor, I didn't have to wait to use the bathroom at all during my stay. The shared kitchen was also great - free cereal, milk and bread for breakfast, and I facilities to make dinner. The bottom floor is a pub (bar) but I didn't hear any noise from the bar and past 6pm there's only a little street noise which wasn't disturbing. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There's no lift, so if you're not good with stairs or have very heavy luggage you may find it tricky, but I was fine getting my case up and down.

Met expectations.

Location was very convenient for me. Close to everything I needed to do. Room was a reasonable size for the price, and had a cool view of the street below so I could watch people. Noise at night from the pub downstairs was not too disturbing. The only noise disturbance I had was a woman screaming about getting kicked out from whatever the place across the road was. I was very hungover and it spoiled my morning. the screaming lady had nothing to do with the wynyard hotel, she was just annoying.

The only thing that could be improved is a greater variety of 2-minute noodle flavours in the communal kitchen. Also, the windows need to be propped up with a book or something.

The property was in a great location, a mere few mins walk to a station and many main Sydney attractions. The rooms were clean and had all the basics needed for a cost effective stay. The bathrooms, although shared, were roomy and clean with big rainforest shower heads. The pub downstairs is decent too. The staff were helpful in taking our bags to our room for us while we were out, which was greatly appreciated. Considering this was a cheaper option than many local hostels, it was amazing.

The property has lots of road noise.

Stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. It really exceeded my expectations since I saw a lot of negative comments about the noise and the cleanliness. The shared bathrooms are clean and can only hear minimal noise from outside during night- they provide earplugs in case you need one. The bed and sheets are clean and comfortable. Staffs are great and very accommodating. On top of that, the location was so great and very accessible to public transportation. We will surely be back whenever we come back in Sydney.
