The motel is located on the New England Highway but was free from road traffic noise. The room was neat, clean, comfortable and contained the basic amenities to be self sufficient (microwave, plates and cutlery). Internet was fast and the TV was capable of accepting streaming from personal devices.

This is not a criticism but just an observation. The room is older but kept in good condition and the bedding and linen were modern and fresh.

The rooms are small but clean and tidy. There is a microwave oven and a fridge for those who don't want to go out for the night. Aircon works well and the beds are comfortable.

The wifi is a bit slow and throttled to about 5Mb/s, so not too good if you want to FaceTime the family. Just enough for TikTok and YouTube. If you need to do real work like me, just use your phone.

For a small motel on a country town the accommodation was great, the room had crockery and cutlery and glassware, complimentary toiletries and thick absorbent towels, I had stayed in other motels that cost more and they had none of the extras that the Altona Motel provided.

Casting media from my phone didn't work due to having to use the motel's WiFi to do it, the signal dropped in and out, making it impossible.

The location as it was very close to the family we were visiting, we also had a warm welcome to the property which was nice and pleasant..

The cobwebs on the shower curtain and the fact it sticks to you while you’re showering making a very awkward and irritating time.. I also couldn’t wash the dishes I had used (the bathroom sink was the only option and it was too small and no dishwashing liquid)..

I did pre book my room on line. When I got to Armidale which was roughly 20km away my car broke down. I rang Ken who manages the motel with his wife and told him my situation and I would not be able to get there he said no worries. Just let me know where they tow your car to and I'll come and pick you up. Not only did he drive the 20 plus km to pick me up but he drove me back the next day to pick my car up. Appsolute champion! I was so lucky to pick this motel because I don't think I would have got this kind of service many other places. Plus the room was very clean and comfortable.

The motel ownership has changed but the motel hasn't. Basic and old fashioned - just the way I like it. Why pay extra when you just need a room to sleep in? The room was comfortable and they still use blankets (I hate doonas) and have face washers. It's on a busy road but we were not bothered by the noise because the room remained quiet. I always stay here when I'm in Uralla and I will continue to do so.

Only one suggestion - a tea towel would have been useful after cleaning cups and plates.

It was an exceptionally clean facility. I have stayed in many 4 star+ facilities that could learn a lesson from this motel. The manager was welcoming, cheerful and accomodating. The motel although basic had everything required including a comfortable bed.

Nothing… if only the weather had been as accomodating.

Excellent communication before arriving and a friendly greeting with a smooth check in upon arrival. Our room was meticulously cleaned with modern decor. The comfortable bed and blockout blinds ensured a good nights sleep. We appreciated the thoughtful guest provisions and local information. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.

I liked everything pretty much it had a blow drier, towels, soaps, shampoo and conditioner, cutlery, cups, bowls, plates toaster idk if I saw a kettle, extra pillows, tv and free wifi. It was very warm nice little room

I couldn’t connect chrome cast the tv wasn’t connecting to my phone and I believe there should have been small milk in the fridge so I could have my coffee with milk

I received amazing hospitality at Altona. I would give this motel an 11+ out of 10 score if that were possible. Everything was perfect right from Ali's friendly welcome on arrival, easy check in, spotlessly clean and very spacious room, to the beautiful comfy bed and great shower. Highly, highly recommended.
