It was all about the view, location and the beautiful breeze throughout the apartment. When we entered the apartment we were stopped in our tracks and just gawped at the stunning ocean, beach and park in front of us. We never tired of it. We could see it from the kitchen, the lounge and the outdoor area. Joanne Apartments are located opposite Happy Valley, Caloundra. Although there is plenty of beach and ocean this is not a swimming beach, however a short walk will take you to Bulcock Beach. This is an excellent beach for children as it is not a surf beach, however it is deep and has a strong tide. But it is patrolled by lifesavers. At Bulcock Beach is an array of restaurants and bars all with beach views and breeze. We loved the walk in the opposite direction (10 minutes along the boardwalk) to Kings Beach as we preferred a surf beach. And there are plenty of restaurants and bars here as well. And again plenty of things to do for the children, including a play park area, an ocean pool etc. It was the complete convenience of being able to easily walk to everything, including to an IGA supermarket, bottle shops, cafes etc. We did not use our car once. So much better to be located centrally rather than at one particular end - we had an abundance of choice.

In the bedrooms the shutters do not block the light so our rooms were very bright by 5.00am. But it helped motivate us to get going early. It worked for Caloundra because by 8pm there isn't a lot going on. Very quiet. So getting to the beach early and having a big day out definitely tires you out for the evening.

Arriving at 5:00 PM on a Saturday, for a two night stay I had a bit of an adventure locating the reception and car park, but once I found them, I was pleasantly surprised. The secure private parking was a definite plus, and the sea view was absolutely stunning—an added bonus to an already charming area. The unit itself was a delight: well-equipped, impeccably clean, and beautifully tidy. The bed, though on the smaller side, was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. Having two bathrooms and toilets was a huge advantage and made the stay even more convenient. On the downside, most of the FOXTEL channels weren’t working, which was a bit of a letdown. Additionally, the nighttime noise from local cars did disrupt the tranquility a bit. However, the location more than made up for these minor issues. The beach, restaurants, and cafes were all within easy walking distance, making it a prime spot for exploring the local scene. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with a few quirks but plenty of positives to enjoy.

Foxtel channels not all working

The accommodation was excellent. Ocean view from the front verandah was fantastic .Beach lagoon was great for the grandchildren to splash around in, also had a great park for the grandchildren. We enjoyed the heated pool at the apartments.

We were on the third floor, a lot of stairs as there is no lift. We tried to limit how many times we walked up and down the stairs, as older grandparents, we had our daughter and two grandchildren with us. We choose Joanne apartments as it had three bedrooms

Location was excellent! Could park the car and leave it all weekend, everything walking distance. 2 pools, 1 heated which was amazing for the cooler days. Staff very helpful. Loads of extra pillows and blankets. Foxtel and Wifi was a nice surprise too.

The shower was very awkward (skinny and long) and pressure was terrible.

Close to restaurants beaches, walking distance to sights,beach view from room and balcony was lovely

No lift, and we had a few bags and had to take them up flights of stairs, and our room had a raised shower so a couple of stairs up and down, has a hand rail, but be careful.

The beds were super comfy and the location was perfect with a choice of beaches with a lovley view. Loved that the kitchen was fully stocked which included containers to transport food for a picnic ect,

Lounge room furniture was very uncomfortable and not welcoming for a family of 4.

We had a fantastic stay at Joanne Terrace Apartments over Easter. The unit was perfect for our family and our young boys loved being able to walk to the awesome park down the road, the beach and the river. We would recommend staying here and will look to visit again for sure.

Very nice location, right across the beach. The view from the balcony was superb. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Although the apartment is a bit dated, but it was clean. Although the check-in time was 2 PM, we were notified via text that it was ready before 9 AM and we could check in early if we would like to. That was a pleasant experience as compared to many other places where they don't entertain even half-an-hour before schedule check-in.

The communication & warm welcome - apartment was really clean & in an excellent location and very well kept

Couple silly little things - there was a couple pieces of chipped crockery which I feel should have been removed & it would have been nice to have a box of tissues in the shower room - very minor - apart from that, absolutely no complaints

Location was perfect for access to beach, shops and restaurants. View from the 3rd level apartment was incredible. Large spacious apartment. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

No elevator - thankfully our children were old enough to walk the stairs comfortably and no longer in prams. Strong smell of cigarette smoke coming up from lower apartments. Apartment is tired and dated but still clean and comfortable.
