The room was spacious and comfortable. Although it's on the highway, it's set back far enough with lots of trees around to nearly mute the road noise. The best thing about it though was Leanne. She was so friendly and has frozen, home-made meals for the hungry traveller, just bring cash with you. I can recommend the chicken and roast vegies. Amazing service, I'll definitely be back.

Parking was tight for my 14t truck but I now know what size truck I can get in there. haha There's no food close by but Leanne's frozen meals make up for it.

Very convenient for early 10 min drive to Magnetic Island ferry along Southern Port Road. Large mall 5 minutes away. Owner was the most generous and accommodating business owner we've ever had in a motel. Current motel manager was also helpful and kept the rooms immaculately clean. Nice bed linen and towels, well laundered. Older style motel, and very good value. Stayed a night each side of our island trip.

Host Lynda was very welcoming, accomodating, cheerful and knowledgeable. She made us very easy welcoming to her hotel, very informative about Townsville and surrounding areas. The room was exceptionally clean and comforting away from the noises of city, all greenery around with plenty of birds chirping away, good location. All in all we really enjoyed our two night stay there and will definitely go back. Thank you Lynda for your hospitality- Jose & Annie.

Only honest suggestion to provide a bit more utensils in the room but can,t fault as she was at hand for any request.

The property was on the highway but still only a short distance from the city. Leaving for home was easier. The Manager was extremely friendly and allowed me to check in 3 hours early as one room was ready. The free wi-fi worked perfectly.

I have stayed in dozens of motels and Sunbird provided everything I expected based on the price and location. Small, family run business.

Room was great - very roomy. Grounds were very restful with frequent birdlife, including Sunbirds in the morning. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of room for parking. Very quiet, especially as it's beside the highway.

Everything was great - perhaps the bed was only an 8/10 but still very comfy.

The staff was very helpful and suggested a lot of things to do around the area. We even got a tip about how to reach the city while avoiding traffic!

The motel's location is not ideal, but it's not too hard to reach the city if you're okay with driving.

Very impressed with presentation, cleanliness, very good price and service. Also the owner took the time to tell us about the attractions in the area. The motel is called Sunbird as the birds around the property are the Sunbird breed, very pretty.

Wi- not very good… but not a great problem if you can use your own. Highly recommend this property and would stay again.

Very clean. Had everything we needed. Felt safe and able to park our car in front of the room. Comfy bed, decent little area to use microwave/make tea etc. Nice clean toilet and shower. Staff were also very helpful, the owner gave introduced us to townsville and gave us helpful advice on where to go.

Decor was a little plain but nothing really to complain about.

Good value. Easy access to South Townsville for the footy. Nice setting out in the southern hills area on the Bruce highway. A 24 hour service station just town road sells food.

Nothing really. Limited food utensils as there were only cups and spoon.

Friendly staff and comfortable room. Wanting to stay out of town a couple of nights and this was just right. Although it’s located on a major highway it was very quiet at night.

The right hand turn off the highway into the place, coming from Townsville is a bit hairy. Better off coming from the other direction
