The location in Palmer Street is wonderful as so much choice for eating out. The bed was so comfortable I slept really well. I did find the room a little dated and on my first night when really tired I thought the available channels on tv very limited. I also wanted to do more cooking but found without an oven and only a small hob this was limited. I also put a bottle of wine in the shelf of the fridge door which promptly fell out and smashed. Took about 30 minutes to clean up. I was tired so probably me, but I could not see how to work the microwave and also the dryer so I had wet clothes when I left which I left on my site over the weekend and are now finally dry. However once I felt more relaxed, I went out anyway to eat and as I said the location and the comfort of the bed more than made up for other shortcomings. The only other issue for me being not the most mobile these days, was the shower over a high sided bath. I did manage but would prefer no bath.

Everyone was lovely, the facility is lovely :) the reception staff went above and beyond, even helped me print out a form for my medical appt. The staff also helped us by letting us know about the different breakfast options in town when asked.

If you could install a kitchen or liaise with a restaurant to offer room service! That is the only thing that could have been better for us. Also, I’m sure it’s no one’s fault but the phone in our room didn’t work. We were unable to contact the front desk with the room phone. No dial tone.

The property was in an ideal location, very well maintained and very spacious and comfortable. The apartment was well appointed and super clean. There are lifts, a pool and spa, reception open till late, secure parking and good sized tvs to watch. Oh and most importantly, the bed was lovely and comfy and extra pillows too.

Some things are beginning to show age, bathroom and kitchen for example, however these are big ticket items that take time to replace so not a big deal. Overall well maintained and clean.

I only stayed for one night in Room 271 at the Grand Hotel, Townsville, but it was an experience to remember. The room was cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated, providing the perfect retreat after a busy day. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and even though it was just one night, I had one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time. Waking up refreshed, I couldn’t help but admire the stunning view of the city’s skyline from the window. The towering buildings made for an impressive sight, especially as the evening lights lit up the horizon. What really made the night special was the Douwe Egberts Cacao Fantasy Drinking Chocolate. Enjoying a cup before bed was the perfect indulgence—rich, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. It added a luxurious touch to my brief stay and made the night feel even cozier. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that I wish I could have stayed longer to explore more of what the hotel and Townsville have to offer. But for a short visit, the Grand Hotel exceeded my expectations. Room 271 is ideal for anyone looking for comfort and style in the heart of Townsville. I’d definitely love to return for a longer stay in the future.

Honestly, my stay was nearly perfect, but if I had to mention something, I wish there had been more sachets of the Douwe Egberts Cacao Fantasy Drinking Chocolate! It was so delicious that one cup wasn’t enough. Having an extra sachet or two would have been the cherry on top of a great night.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect for what we needed. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was surprisingly sound proof.

The kitchen tap would be my only WT moment. For such a well thought out room plan and decor the kitchen tap over the sink was near impossible to turn on as it was placed so close to the wall.

- It had all the accessories required for a longer stay inside the apartment room - The TV had a welcoming with your surname on the screen - Free WIFI - Good selection of movies - Air con in good working condition - It was centred where all the food restaurants are located such a BONUS!! - The pub, steakhouse, bottle o, convenience store, cafe, ice cream parlour just PERFECT!! - Walking distance to the Footy Stadium with a beautiful view from our balcony - e-scooters available for travel (first time users we loved it) - The casino is close by we walked to and scooted back - Bottled of water provided free at reception - Property is very clean

- The coffee cups provided were smaller, would prefer mugs as the coffee sachets were bigger and made the taste more stronger than required. - The balcony view was half blocked by the metal lattice - The outdoor timber chairs were very hard to sit on would love to spend more time outside - We had to pay extra $15 for secure parking inside the facility per night. - The pool and jacuzzi is not heated especially in the colder weathers

The apartment was big, very clean, had a nice spacious balcony. If you have the pleasure of running into Aled, you're in luck - he was just the sweetest (staff in general were very sweet and welcoming) Reception had complementary bottled water everyday which just shows their care

Parking cost money since we didn't book directly with them, but on the other hand we've never had problems finding free parking right outside the hotel on the street Also had a slight problem with the washing machine but the staff immediately addressed the issue and came to the room to check it out and ensure we were able to do our laundry

Very spacious and bright apartment. Would be suitable for a long stay. Very comfy bed and great shower. Happy to have washing machine/dryer in apartment. Has all kitchen appliances and utensils you could need. Very quiet in apartment. Tv in sitting room and bedroom. WiFi excellent. Really liked spacious balcony area and sitting area.

7am fire alarm and evacuation but a guest is to blame not the property lol

The room was very clean and comfortable. Location is perfect, with pubs, bars and restaurants within an easy walk. I’ll definitely be back! I also just wanted to thank Yasmin the receptionist as she very kindly replaced my bottle of red wine, and cleaned up after me - as I dropped my bottle entering the room - exceptional customer service!!!! Thanks Yasmin, you’re amazing! Very friendly reception staff. See you all again soon

The staff were super friendly and helpful, one girl in particular but I've forgotten her name sorry. younger blonde girl with shoulder length blonde. Super central, tidy and comfy.

The shared little corridor with the room next door. Very noisy on the weekends. Also the battery died in my safe which wasn't helpful at all. Place was mostly clean, there was a couple dark hairs in the shower but I suspect they might have been the cleaners as they did quickly clean the room so I could check in early.
