Fantastic Upper-Floor 3BD Apartment with Stunning views. Our stay in this upper-floor, three-bedroom apartment was nothing short of exceptional. The breathtaking views of the Strand and the island were a highlight—we could even spot turtles and fish in the ocean from our balcony. While we didn’t catch a glimpse of the resident crocodile, the scenery more than made up for it. At night, Castle Hill was lit up and a marvellous nighscape. The location is ideal, situated at the quieter end of the Strand. On previous visits, we stayed at the busier end and near the casino, but those areas proved to be quite noisy. This time, we truly appreciated the peace and serenity. While the nearby restaurants would have been within walking distance, they were unfortunately closed due to the weather event. The café next door at the Marina served excellent coffee and breakfasts, showcasing that signature North Queensland hospitality. A special mention goes to the outstanding management at Mariners, who handled the adverse weather conditions with professionalism and care. Despite torrential rain, flooding, and a delayed flight, they kindly accommodated our request for a late checkout. Their friendly and empathetic approach was truly appreciated, even though it wasn’t expected. We did make the last flight out of Townsville before the airport closed due to floodwaters. The apartment itself was cosy and equipped with all the comforts of home. Given the extreme weather event, we felt safe and secure—a wonderful place to be stranded. We are incredibly grateful for the experience and had a pleasant, restful stay. Highly recommend this accommodation! We will be back next year. Thank you from the Gold Coast gratefuls! :)

Nothing with the accommodation. Our stay was too short. The insane once in 100 year extreme weather event.

A great family friendly complex with helpful, friendly staff. Our apartment (number 45) was a very good size, clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful view of the water, Castlehill and the Strand as well as views of the mariner from the bedrooms. We enjoyed the use of the pool, spa and tennis courts, which were all well kept. The kids also enjoyed the free WiFi. Located in a great central location, within walking distance or a short car ride to most things. Off street secure parking was also supplied. Afterhours check in was very easy, with no issues. This apartment is great value for money.

The Laundry Bathroom requires some improvement. The shower in the bath is a health and safety concern especially for the elderly ( we 82,79,79,74.) more so the floor tiles slippery / dangerous when damp. Antique bath should be replaced with walk in shower and some sort of non slip matting on floor tiles (replace with more suitable flooring ( I actually slipped heavily ) The door on this room requires resecuring ( will not shut properly) Toilet seat has seen better days . We over come these concern had to use ensuite bathroom note always appropriate

From arriving at the place, all the way to leaving, customer service and administration was amazing! I was notified that we could check in from 12pm via text the day before our arrival which was exceptional. Beds and pillows were so comfortable! Couldn't rate highly enough how comfy they were. 2bdr apartment was spacious via the stairs, easy access into all facilities

Only let down was the lounge was a bit dated ans a bit stiff. And 1 warm blanket between 2 single beds to share in the rooms were the let downs. Other than that, all good from family of 4.

Beachfront view facing North. Large Pool. Tennis Court. Location was a few minutes walk to food outlets and "The Strand" walking path. Quick drive into CBD (but theres not much in there). Not much really at "The Strand". If you want something more than a Pizza Shop, Fish and Chip takeway, 2x Pubs and Coffee Club, you will need to drive a few kilometres.

Only negative is the shower. Worst showers i've come across in a long time. Almost zero water pressure and really tiny shower heads. On a side note, The Male who looked after the pool needs to take a chill pill. Abusing small children for jumping and splashing and basically being kids and then having a crack at people for moving from the pool to the the spa and "cross contaminating the chemicals". Chill ole mate. We are on holidays.

In the apartment (37) we occupied the Queen Bed could be upgraded comparatively economically to considerably enhance the experience. The TV could do with a basic sound bar as the sets sound quality is very poor and boarders on annoying / unusable.

We had a pleasant stay at Mariners North. We had a spacious apartment that overlooked the stand, the ocean, and we could even see Magnetic Island quite well. We had 2 bathrooms, which was excellent when travelling with a teen who enjoys her own space. The staff were fabulous on check in, we were actually able to check in early, which was fabulous after being in a hot car for several hours. The pool and spa areas were great. We spent quite a bit of time there.

The apartment is quite tired, with a lot of damage to walls and skirting boards - it actually appears to have been flooded at some point. There were no TVs in the bedrooms, despite having the antennas hanging there. Furniture was tired and damaged. There was a lot of wear and tear in this apartment, random hooks and holes in the walls. There was no bathroom door in the ensuite room, which was particularly annoying as who wants or needs to listen to anyone in the loo. The laundry had a very strong mouldy smell, which was unpleasant, and the clothes airer was broken and unusable. I also removed rubbish from under the beds from the previous occupiers. For the price we paid for 4 nights accommodation and the location, it was disappointing to note so many issues.

We enjoyed the well maintained pool and tennis court. The large clean apartment and the view of the bay and castle rock. The location was excellent, close to town, the Magnetic Island ferry and the Strand esplanade of course.

We found that a outdoor lounge setting was used inside for the main living area, it was very uncomfortable. We used the kitchen alot and a few things were lacking, like a large non stick frying pan instead of the worn out electric frying pan. Just a few more basics like full salt and pepper shakers, perhaps some spray cooking oil.

Just fantastic- exceeded expectations - we had a ball and Townsville has so much to offer - mariners north absolute location plus and with fabulous amenities for travelling with children - could not fault - maybe some plastic plates and cups for young children but other than that kitchen fantastic with everything you could possibly want - we will be back😀

Nothing - you guys are fantastic

This place is such great value! Loads of space, all the comforts of home, a stupendous view, easy parking/check in/check out, great pool, tennis court with incredible view, perfect location right on The Strand… I actually don’t think you could top it in Townsville. My teens loved having their own bathroom, the little “study nook” for using their laptops, the gigantic fridge and kitchen.

Some people would not love the stairs/no lift.
