We are locals that live out of town that came in for a 60th birthday party on the Strand. So we weren't looking for anything luxurious just somewhere to lay our head so we just needed something cheap but decent. Have to say that the Clarion nailed this. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable,and had everything that we needed. In fact, there were two bottles of water and little cartons of milk for the coffee machine which was a Nespresso pod machine which is more than I've received in some four to five star hotels!! This was a fantastic place to stay. If you're looking for something affordable, clean and tidy. And located in the city you couldn't ask for anything better.

The car Parks weren't secured. Front of house staff could have been a little bit more friendlier

extremely comfortable large beds. Rooms were spacious and a good size bathroom and sink also liked that we had a table we could sit out to eat meals and a desk too. I liked that it was very secure with swipe card entry to foyer and lifts and it had on site parking. very friendly staff and super cold AC.

no microwave or toaster was tricky for meal reheats or breakfast but didn’t bother us too much for our short stay. The fridge wasn’t overly cold at all and no freezer compartment for ice was a little disappointing. hot water took about 5 minutes to come through to shower and pressure wasn’t very good. the lighting in the kitchen bed and lounge areas are very dim with no option to make it brighter which was a bit annoying.

Staff went out of their way to accommodate individual needs which helped make the stay comfortable. Great location and close to facilities and also short walk down to the beach.

Excellent location..walking distance to the Stadium and city restaurants/bars. Very comfortable bed, quiet room and very clean. Reception very friendly and helpful.

The beds were absolutely comfortable that I did not want to wake up but unfortunately for the check out at 10am, both my 1yr old & I had to get up get ready & leave. Overall loved it ! Would definitely come back.

Staff were great to deal with and friendly. Easy access to park and room. Nice large and comfy room

There was nothing really we didn't like. Maybe only thing we could say was no lighting above table.

We didn't have breakfast included in our stay. We supplied our own.

There was no door/ curtain on the shower so there was a lot of water that went onto the floor outside the shower.

Location was definitely a factor for us. We noted distance to football stadium for future visits when NRL season commences and Clarion Hotel will be our choice to stay.

Weather was the only downside but it is nth Qld so that's a given.

Clean, nice atmosphere and very central to shops and the beach.

Outside noise is very noticeable. People in the hallways, music being played from cars on the street and next door neighbours.

I liked how the hotel is close to everything in the city. My partner and I ended up walking everywhere since it's a nice walk to everything we wanted to do in the City. The room itself was good too - nice bathroom with some trendy lighting. The bed was very comfy. The room neat and tidy too.
