We 3 (2 adults + child 6 years), stayed 2 nights at room 23 upstairs. The Lady (with Tattoos) at the front desk was very caring and helpful. She gave us delayed check out time. Free breakfast packs are going extra mile to help customers. Big Parking (covered/secured or open) available. Big room with 2 Bed (1 Q + 1 S), many pillows. Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels, toiletries, tea/coffee/sugar/biscuits/milk boxes/water bottles. They were so generous of giving these. Hot water jug, Iron + iron board, cups, small fridge/freezer, small TV were helpful. Clean and spacious toilet/bath room. Quiet place. We like to come back.

Old, not that modern. going up on stair case with big/heavy bags were hard. Door locks were broken (but did not feel insecure), Tiled floor area was bit sticky (may be due to continuous rain those days). Having a Microwave would have helped a lot. Vale Hotel/18+ Pub (bistro)/Restaurant/Accommodation are all at the same place, confusing for Taxi drivers/deliveries. Aircon has only 1 function, cool. No humidifier or warm. Due to continuous rain those days, room was bit humid and had an (old) odor, had to keep the aircon working continuously even when we were not inside...

This place is better as it looks, the staff is super friendly, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean although a little run down and the parking is under cover and secured. We could wash for free, which was a real plus. Almost felt like home. Thank you!

Since we don't like to use the air conditioner, we missed the mosquito nets on the main windows in the room. Also, the rooms wouldn't mind some refurbishment here and there..

The location was centralised and easy to find. Room clean. We were very pleased that it had a lock-up garage. Bed comfortable. Easy checkout - leave keys on bench and lock up. Stayed 2 nights and were surprised that the beds were made up and clean towels delivered on day 2.

No one there to check us in, had to go across to hotel gaming room. Computers down (not their fault - Microsoft issue). Was unable to do pre-check in due to computer issues, too, and kept looping. Luckily, we had alternate/ garage assess because pin code we were given only worked once, then never again. The garage opener is probably due for new batteries soon, too.

The Vale Hotel is always our first choice for overnighters in Townsville on our way further up north as it is located on one of Townsville's arterial roads, is also close to a major shopping centre, a pharmacy, and if you're inclined to wet your whistle, a bottle shop. We love the security of a gated complex and the convenience of a short walk to delicious meals at the bistro. The beds are also super comfortable!

While the bathroom was clean, the floor was coated in some sticky residue, presumably from the detergent used to mop it earlier, it was dry but had a slippery tacky feeling to it. There were also a couple of substantially sized sticky stains in the carpet. It still won't deter us from coming back however I'm hoping it was a once off instance as the room we had on a previous trip was faultless.

The breakfast packages where good we collected on arrival, but we forgot to go get one for everyday as we where there for 4 nights . Friendly staff at check in .. safe car parking was great. We had stayed here before so stayed again with friends.. close to the Vale for dinner some nights

Felt very safe and secure. Car was parked in secure garage. Beds were comfortable. Basic room but it was very tidy. Beds had very clean linen. White towels replaced daily. Travel size toiletries body wash, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Had tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits each day. Coffee cups, glasses and basic washing up products provided. Milk in fridge. Was very quiet. Shower was spotless.

After hours check in was in the pokies room at Vale Hotel. We waited for over 30 minutes in the pokies room near the bar late at night among patrons who were UIL…which was pretty uncomfortable. Directions regarding access to motel were not great.

Didn't realise the was a breakfast room till the end of our stay. We love the rolling gate for letting car in and out plus good for keeping cars safe, great to have a airconditioned room.

A second washing machine would have been good ,as there were times we had to wait to use it, a microwave in the room would have been good too, The bathroom ceiling has quite bad mould starting and the old air vent in the ceiling would look better either repainted or removed and put a panel over the hole. The light on the veranda out side out room did shine in though the blinds, we had to put something up to block out the light. Suggestion that you paint the corner window with some sort of frosting to help block the light.

Apart from signing in thru the games room, stay was pleasant, great food, comfortable beds, clean rooms

Signing in thru games room with children having to stand outside in pub area alone, the side gate people walk thru bangs loud all thru the night and early morning. Hearing people walking past your door all hours talking loudy

The room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Linen clean. So was the room and bathroom. Staying over the far side was quite and I had a good night's sleep.

Having to wait 30 minutes to check in on a Sunday afternoon. I was forgotten by staff. However staff were gracious and gave me a complimentary glass of lemonade. No one's perfect and we all make a mistake every now and then. I will definitely stay again, however if after hours, I've heard via another traveller to organise the room key to be left in a combination drop box.

beds are getting quite soft and depressed when sitting on the side of the bed. There appeared to be gum or something sticky imbedded in the carport in unit 1, main bedroom heading to bathroom. The little breakfast packages on arrival are a lovely thought although you did not have stock available over the 2 night stay we were there.
