Every single thing. The property has so much history and you get a history tour of the whole property, it takes you back in time. It is a brilliant place for families, plenty to do with the kids, you would not have to leave the property. The kitchen has cooking facilities unlike a motel. You have the whole property to use and roam around and explore. It's just amazing. The beds were huge and comfortable, the staff were amazing. If you were an older couple perhaps try to get a ground floor. Also if you are asking if there is a restaurant, no there isn't. Do they need to have one, no they do not. There is plenty of nice eating places around the area. However they would like to eventually have a restaurant available for their guests.

Large family accomodation, Quite location, warm rooms, comfortable bedding, great kitchen, loads of free activities for the whole family. Great family destination close to Ballarat central and Sovereign Hills. Friendly and helpful staff.

A restaurant would have been nice. The room smelt like prawns. Unusual and not pleasant to have a person try to force us into a 1hr 30 min seminar about joining the timeshare club, upon checking in. Felt awkward that the person kept trying to dangle the $100 gift card "emailed" for more than 10mins, even after I repeatedly declined. Made me not want to come back.

I love the history trail upon my arrival. It happens n every Monday and Thursday. It enriched my stay at the property after learning its history from the property manager. The accommodation is a destination itself. My children don’t even want to step out of the property. It is a nice place to spend over the weekend or relax. The layout of the room is lovely. I am also thankful to the staff for their quick response whenever I need help. Access to the facilities (swimming pool, canoes, bikes) is secured but easy. I enjoy sitting by the pond and paddling the boats with my kids. Quality selection of hot drinks and toiletries available in the room.

If only there’s restaurant or cafe within the property.

This place is a beautiful old collection of buildings surrounded by amazing birdlife and wildlife. The room was large and comfortable with everything that we needed for 4 adults. We loved waking up to the crazy birds, wandering around spotting the rabbits or seeing the possums in the evenings. Having on-site laundry facilities was handy and the Pool and spa was awesome. Located in a lovely quiet area less than 10 mins from the CBD.

Not so much a didn't like, but there wasn't a lot of info available. So we didn't find out till we asked that rooms aren't serviced but you can get replacement everything at reception. Our room did smell damp and it turned out there was a leak in the shower which we reported to the Reception team.

The high ceilings, stylish furnishings, lush carpet, big rooms, full kitchen, good heating, just such a cosy & luxurious atmosphere. But most of all loved the history of the property. We did the 4.30pm Monday history tour of the property. Grounds were beautiful & old buildings exquisite. Definitely recommend!

4pm check in is too late, though I rang & was able to get in slightly earlier

We liked the beautiful grounds, the disc golf course and tennis courts. The reading rooms were nice too. Didn't get to use the bikes or e-bikes or the pool but their availability was appreciated. The unit was comfortable and well appointed. TVs in each room with Chromecast was appreciated too.

The games room could have been more in keeping with the style of the rest of the facility, eg, a more comfortable larger room with comfortable chairs to sit, relax and watch a game of pool while waiting a turn.

Internally renovated as new, the same time maintained inside out historic appearance which is a great job done. It's well equipped in the room also provided with pool, bikes, canoe, tennis court, chess, gym, table tennis etc. facilities at the estate. Staff is reachable 24*7 for late check-in etc.

Pillows are all a bit hard to my liking. Shower drain was a bit blocked with water buildup. No tap function for security bond payment. Room fees were c harged twice by both booking.com and reception. Different staff gave different explanation....

Lovely spacious room which easily fit our family of 5, appreciated the two updated bathrooms and full kitchen. The room was clean and warm, the beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed the pool, spa, and kids playground. The setting is very pretty and we could easily have stayed longer to enjoy all the activities on offer.

The location worked well for us as we were visiting family in the suburbs, but is a bit far out of town if you wanted to spend more time in the city of Ballarat itself.

The stairs to the first floor were very high and difficult with luggage, especially for my elderly parents. No elevators This should be mentioned with option to select ground floor at booking

Just 10 minutes from most of Ballarat, it felt like everything was easily accessible from the Wyndham. The kids loved the pool, but I didn't venture in because it was a fair walk back to the room, and it is cold in Ballarat in July. I also loved having plenty of space for the kids to run around. The gold panning activity was an unexpected bonus. Hot water and water pressure in the shower were fabulous.

The sheets for the fold out bed were a bit too small for the bed which meant they were constantly coming untucked. Also, there were only two white towels plus two pool towels in the room which was booked for four people.
