Close to South Melbourne market, good price for a hotel stay in Melbourne, room was large and had a good sized work table with a table lamp. Contactless check in was smooth.

The tap at the sink next to the microwave was not properly affixed and veered to the left, so I had to hold it in place when washing dishes so that the water flowed into the sink. There’s quite a bit of noise from the bar downstairs from 6pm to 10pm. The walls are not soundproof so I could hear the guest next door snoring. There’s no one on site to assist with things during my stay like a normal hotel, e.g. clearing my trash bin in the afternoon.

The location was excellent and was perfect for what I needed it for on the day. The beds were very comfortable. The TV was so big and had lots of options for viewing. The shower was amazing (spacious). Communication with the staff was easy. I have never done a check in and check out via SMS, but it worked well.

The only feedback I would like to provide is about the ground floor. It wasn't obvious that it was the ground floor to the Clarendon and there were big posters/signs pushed to the side of the room which made it looks a bit uninviting. For me and my partner, it was no problem at all. But for someone else, they may not have the best experience when entering the building.

I had 2 business meetings in the same suburb so location was perfect. The bed is comfortable and the showers are good. There are water bottles in the fridge which was very handy. Someone is available at reception from 10am - 3pm but you can contact them by mobile phone (notified in the confirmation & the mobile number is on the desk on the 1st floor). Very easy to catch Uber from here.

The hotel below (ground floor) is closed at present (being refurbished?) and I was expecting to get meals including breakfast inhouse. There is a great little cafe (Pho 121) nearby and a variety of hotels & other options so minimal inconvenience. The room had a micro mini ironing board that sat on a bench/cupboard - this is a disaster for a business traveller - please supply a real ironing board!. There was a sofa and single chair in the room to sit at the table, but the seat is not connected to the chair and slides off when you get up. Would not hurt to update the roman curtains.

Location, modern bathroom decor, friendly staff, flexibility (could leave cases in their care for an hour after checkout), trees outside the double glazed windows, bar fridge & aircon worked well. Lovely tall ceilings.

Grotty entrance laneway (some rubbish amongst leaves), inside stairs need vacuuming, handbasin is only about 70 - 75 cm high, so very low for a tall person to wash their face & clean teeth etc. No bedside lamp on one side of the bed. Needed another chair in the room. Can’t open the windows so no fresh air. Not much space around the basin.

Second time staying here. Located in South Melbourne which is still close by to Melbourne cbd. Tram #12 is right outside the intersection. Basic room and amenities with wifi and small kitchenette, but thats all enough for our 7 days stay. Room is spacious. Cafe, supermarket and market are all within walking distance.

Light sleeper - bring earplugs as you can hear some construction noise in the morning or tram. Not a bad loud noises but you can still hear them. Those who are driving, may be quite a hassle to keep Moving your card during weekdays parking restrictions. But if you are Mostly out and about then no issue.

Quiet at night although at check in, a couple was reporting too much noise on rooftop party venue 2 am. We saw the wedding party. Suggest management cease at 11 pm. Chairs etc stowed next day. Our stay was quiet , nice linens, big room and shower

A continental breakfast would be great. Room had coffee pot and supplies a microwave fridge There cafe”s and dinner options within 3 blocks. Probably staffing issue as checkin window is limited but you can access easily with a code NOTE; entrance is on the side street to left in a cobblestone alley Did not feel unsafe

We had travelled through 3 airports that day. Then Skybus from Melbourne Airport to City, then a tram to the accommodation. The manager & his staff couldn't do enough for us. He upgraded us from a 1Br to a 2Br so we could be on the same floor as our friends. There were 5 of us travelling together. We were going on a 24-day Cruise the next day. In the morning, they looked after our luggage while we went & had a coffee. When we came back, they carried all our suitcases out to the side of the hotel. We were going down to the wharf by a bus taxi. When the taxi arrived, they then helped the driver load all our gear in the bus. They couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recommend The Clarendon Hotel in Clarendon St, South Melbourne to anyone. It is a great place to stay overnight before you go on a cruise as the shipping terminal for our cruise is not far from there. Nothing everything was good, weather, accommodation, staff. We are 5 very happy customers.

I thought the Clarendon was very good value for money. Being on the South Bank it was close to the city centre but not noisy at night. The refurbishments were lovely.

There were a few details in the room that should be fixed. the lock on the ensuite was taped over. Looked very amateurish. The bedside light was snapped off and not replaced and there was a carpet bare spot in the room. Very odd.

Great location, lovely huge bed in a spacious room , great roof top bar, microwave, pleasant helpful staff. It may not be for everyone but we liked the fact that the room doesn’t get serviced every day but if we had any issues or needed anything replenished etc we could just ask the guy on reception and and it was sorted in minutes.

The sink area of the bathroom was a little small as the space was taken up by a very generous shower room.

The room was so comfortable! Checkin was also easy with clear instructions even with our late arrival. Our point of contact, Nik, was an excellent host and very easy to communicate with. He generously looked after our suitcase on our last day after checkin so we could explore the city once more before heading to the airport in the afternoon. Overall a very comfortable stay!

There was very loud music from the rooftop bar, particularly on the Friday night. Perhaps because our room was next to the elevator shaft, it was loud - we could hear the music clearly and the thudding bass as well. It seemed to quieten down after 10:30–11pm, but it was very difficult to get to sleep that night!
