The breakfast was a nice addition to our stay, nice selection of fruit, cereals, pastries, bacon & eggs. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the Skybus/Southern Cross Station and within easy walking distance to many great restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. The room was very clean and nicely presented and appears relatively new/refurbished. Staff were friendly and helpful. The block out blinds are excellent if you are a shift worker or you had a late one and need a good sleep in.

There is a Damages bond that you must pay, and the hotel holds onto this bond for 7 to 10 business days. This is not ideal with such a large time to return your money seeing the room would be cleaned and assessed on the day you leave, really unsure how this arrangement works. Although it did not bother my partner and I, the shower/bathroom is surrounded by frosted glass. If someone is showering, then you can make out their silhouette. This was something that didn't bother us, but other may want to consider.

Location was excellent and walkable to many places including Skybus Melbourne City drop off point at the basement of spencer outlet center. For the price paid, I think it was a great deal. Came with breakfast included that was sumptuous every day. The staff were polite and professional; one of them even offered me an umbrella when she ran into me in the lift on a particularly rainy day! Stayed here for 5 nights and housekeeping was done really well every single day. Loved the bedding & pillows - on the softer side but really comfortable! Rooms were quiet and a good size; would definitely stay here again if I ever find myself in Melbourne in the future!

The room was an 'accessible' room as we were able to check in early and that was what was available. Staff member was very pleasant and check in very smooth.

The shower curtain in the room was not nice. It should be washed every time, or at least after a few uses. The breakfast was not as appealing as on previous visits because a) porridge is gone b) eggs were runny c) no mushrooms or predictable tomatoes in the cooked breakfast offering. I can see that the larger audience is being catered for, but ... Also, chairs in the lobby are gone which were very useful for disabled people like me while waiting for other people, a taxi or whatever.

My children have food aversions and my daughter only wanted to eat Margaretta pizza or garlic and cheese pizza from the menu and they never had it. We have two children with ASD and it’s hard to take them out and walk around the city looking for food. Also they had run out of chips on the first two nights we were there which is a staple. Kids would have liked an option of pancakes at breakfast. Staff were very helpful and buffet was well stocked. Room service often forgot to leave us clean flannels when they removed the old ones

I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn a few times and generally really like it. The location is super convenient, close to public transport, cafes, restaurants, and a supermarket. The decor is modern, the rooms are very clean, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. WiFi works well, and if you're on a higher floor, you get a lovely view of the city.

Unfortunately, we struggled to sleep this time due to quite a bit of noise, both from outside and within the hotel. At times, it even sounded like the windows were creaking or cracking, which was a bit unsettling. Also, if you're on a lower floor or the sides of the building, the view isn’t great – just facing into other buildings. The biggest letdown was the breakfast. Even the basics weren’t done well - the scrambled eggs were inedible, the pastries tasted stale, and there weren’t any milk alternatives for coffee, which is surprising these days. I’d recommend skipping the breakfast and heading to one of the many nearby cafes instead.

I asked one staff if they have tour services and he was very shocked by my question . he replied that this hotel is only express unlike big hotels so they don't provide. said I have to go online to book search info for myself. 3. when I went to use washer service at basement, out of 4 machine , only 1 was working. 4. no water bottle and indoor slippers but is ok.

Great facilities . Breakfast included in the rate was varied and fresh, always topped up. Location is very convenient, walk distance from many trams/trains stops and city trademarks. Good size rooms. Shower is good, all the amenities are included. Bed is ok (spring bed, not my personal choice). Friendly staff.

Housekeeping could give more attention to cleaning. Overall is clean, but better cleaning would make the experience a 10/10. During our stay the cups/ glasses were not changed and I noticed rubbish that was not removed .Bathroom definitely needs deeper cleaning. Previous guest hair claw left on side bed, makes me wonder that housekeeping did not do a deep cleaning before we check in and attention to detail is low.

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The bedroom looked nice and had a lovely view of the city. The bed was large and comfortable. The location was great, close to Southern Cross Station and 2 min to tram stops. The bathroom was clean and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Pinky in particular was exceptional. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

We didn't like the breakfast at all. The eggs had too much cream or something else in them, they made me queasy. The pastries tasted like they were from the day before or before. Very limited fruit and healthy options. Very crowded. The bathroom walls were made of opaque glass, which is not great for privacy. No one wants to see someone else on the toilet.

This hotel is very conveniently located to all the transport modes in Melbourne CBD, no car needed. It is modern, comfortable and quiet. The price is very reasonable when a high standard breakfast is included. We are regular visitors to Melbourne and have tried other hotels in this area. This is the best hotel deal by a stretch.

The room size was a bit tight when twin beds are installed. Also there is no 'facilities/services guide book' in the room. The TV remote had none of the required buttons to access functions on the TV such as 'My account', nor the SBS channels.

The included buffet breakfast was broad in its range of offered food types: mainly Western with both cooked and cold dishes, but there were also some Asian breakfast foods. The location was great being at Melbourne's train hub, and also only metres away from the free CBD trams. The express bus to the airport was also located at the train hub.

My only criticism of the hotel was concerned with the included breakfast. There was a shortage of places at tables, so if you got up to get another coffee you might come back to find that your seat had been taken by another diner in your absence.
