The location was wonderful. Walking distance to dining and a lake that you can swim or fish. Absolutely beautiful hotel that felt more like a home. The owners and all of the staff are lovely people who treat their guest with joy and amazing hospitality. The breakfast is a must purchase at the location. We loved it! It was a very hot week, but they provided a fan. The schnapps that is made locally on the property is outstanding! We purchased several bottles to bring home. The parklike back yard is wonderful to sit and enjoy your stay. We loved the bartender and the drinks. Not far from The Eagles Nest or Salt Mines. Easy trip to Salzburg. Wish we could have stayed longer, but 2 nights is all that we could do at this stop. The owners are the most lovely people and care and love what they do!

Nothing! We loved it all. Wish they had AC but most of the country did not expect a heat wave while we were visiting. It was hot in all 4 countries we visited. They did their best to accommodate the heat. We appreciated the fans. As most do, the open windows were a huge help. It made me appreciate the AC in the US. :)

Amazing staff and personalised service; you can feel that it is a family-run business, and you are made welcome in a sincere way. The location is very central, only a few steps to the main square and the train station - yet quiet and comfortable. Some other sights, like the lake, are also a short walk away. The breakfast was really nice, with a variety of food and choices, and again with a personal touch. I plan to return also for a private stay and explore the surroundings by hiking and cycling.

It was quite hot while we were there (unusual for the location, as it is surrounded by mountains and nature), and there is no AC (but fans have been provided). Despite this, the building is well built, and did not overheat, so it was manageable.

Everything about this property was excellent! The family who owns and runs the hotel were gracious and personable. They pay particular attention to detail. The woodwork and decor were perfect! And we loved the town of Kuchl, especially the small lake just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel was next to a train station which made it so easy to get to the city center. We so enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel!

Everything at Hotel-Pension Wagnermigl was excellent - from the start to the end. Super friendly, hospitable and helpful staff (thank you again for great help with our car tire - you saved our trip :)), very rich breakfast with only best ingredients, extra clean facility and rooms, comfortable beds. There is no restaurant at the hotel if you want to have a dinner, but it's not an issue at all - there are a few just around the corner, and if you already managed your hunger, you can enjoy some relaxing drink back at the hotel. Can't recommend enough Hotel-Pension Wagnermigl. Definitely one of the best stays we've ever had.

We were received super friendly and personally by the hostess. The rooms are very clean and fully furnished. For the evening meal we were informed about a few good restaurants in the area. The breakfast is really delicious.

My room was at the front of the hotel, located on a main road, when you sleep with the window open the noise from bystanders/traffic can be annoying when you are used to silence while you sleep

I don't know how to describe how wonderful this hotel was. The welcoming feeling was like walking in to your best friend's house for a short stay. The owners were helpful with all of our questions and directed our traveling partners to the best sites to see in Kuchl. I won't reveal the special little touches generously provided by the owners. The breakfast was outstanding. We spent the month of September traveling in Austria and northern Italy staying in many different hotels so you notice the little things in the design of the room that you wish were in each hotel room. The thoughtful design of the room checked off everything on my list of items I like in a hotel room.

Only staying one night. We were in Salzburg unexpectedly at the end of our trip looking for a hotel for one night and we seriously considered taking a train back to Kuchl to stay at the hotel.

Exceptional hotel with exeptional owners. I arrived after an accident and needed a rest few days. Theo owners and the staff did everything possible to assist and feel better. Above this the hotel is beautiful, clean, excellent breakfast. The area around is beautiful with a lot if small surprises and personal care. Highly recommend! And thank you again for everything, sure we will return.

All is great

The rave reviews on this place are fully justified - the hotel is truly exceptional in every respect. Kuchl is a small, but very attractive village about 20 minutes by local train from the Salzburg HBF. I had been cross country skiing there many years ago, and when finding many hotels in Salzburg fully booked or over-priced, we decided to go to Kuchl, and I was impressed by the great reviews on Booking.com, and the hotel turned out to be even better than expected! A hotel of comparable quality in Salzburg would cost at least 5-times as much (and maybe even more). The hotel is attractive in the style of an Austrian village, and although in the valley of the Salzach River, it has amazing views of the high Alps that separate Austria and Germany. Ther are numerous opportunities for hikes in the region, from short easy walks to serious mountain climbing. However, the best thing about the hotel was the warm, welcoming, friendly staff who provide personal attention. Even though the hotel was not crowded, they provided a full, delicious Austrian breakfast with more options than even the most famous hotels in Austria. They recommended a great restaurant for dinner, which serves both excellent Austrian and Balkan cuisine. The room was reasonably spacious and well equipped, with a nice balcony overlooking the Alps. Furthermore, the hotel is a one minute walk from the train station, with local trains to and from Salzburg leaving every 30 minutes. Except for a few central hotels in Salzburg, it was almost as quick to get to the sites in this city as it is from many hotels in town. I have been to Austria many times, and the Wagnermigl and the town of Kuchl represent the best of traditional Austrian life and local color. I recommend it most enthusiastically!

Everything was superbly provided and executed by the highly respectful lady owner and her husband & family. Her graciousness and courteous attitude was evident in every corner and staff member at the hotel. She deserves a 7-star rating.

Lack of Air Conditioning to combat unusual summer temperatures.

Nothing less then a 10 for this hotel. The owner/host was really attentive to all the guests. She explained the various options for sights to see or bonuses to get with the card you are given when you arrive. The hotel gives you a local public transport card, that you can even use to go to Salzburg and back for free. We stayed two nights and every day we received an ice cold bottle of sparkling water. Even when we were out, and left a "do not disturb" sign on the door to save the staff the trouble of cleaning the room, the water was left next to the door. The hotel had a modern lift and the overall styling of the hotel was quite eye-catching. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. When checking out the host gave us a couple of goodbye presents and wished us safe travels. One of the best experiences as far as hotels go.
