This is the best hostel in terms of the staff, facilities, cleanliness & social functions. They make every attempt to include everyone, and I mean every attempt. Pool table, beer pong, social events every night, and don’t get me started on the inclusiveness of the staff. Angus - a lad? Nah his muscles aren’t big enough for a lad. Angus is a MAN. He will help you out with anything. He’s also a certified situation defuser. The notorious burger & chip thief at the hostel was making his attacks, night after night, and finally he was caught by a witness. That witness being me. Angus was the support I needed after a broken heart and unfulfilled stomach. Soso - what would the reception team do without her? Someone needs a raise. Faye - Faye was the stunning light in every manner of her personality that made this place a haven. Especially her honesty in telling me that if a review includes the name of a staff member, they get 1 good coupon. So guys make sure to include names in the reviews to feed the lovely team! Also apparently it only accounts on HostelWorld so this review will leave them hungry. Lin - she needs to stop playing pool every day because at some point she might beat me. Give it another few years.

The beds were spacious and so was the bathroom in my 6-bed female dorm. It was super clean and hygienic. Enough activities are organised. It’s a professional space.

They try too hard to make it a party hostel with the music playing all the time and reaching every corner of the hostel. There’s no quiet place to have a phone conversation without the music in the background. Also, they don’t allow outside food into the hostel which is inconvenient for a city like PP where every local eatery prefers takeaway. I understand the need to maintain cleanliness, there should then at least be a kitchen(like most hostels around the world have), or a place where people can sit and eat food got from outside.

I like the customer service from pre check communication to check in and check out. They communicate with English that is number 1 great factor since I dont speak their language.

No elevator, I have my aunt and my mom who were at their 60’s they are short of breath after 2 floor stairs and I ended up carrying their luggages. No assist and consideration for seniors. My bad I didnt asked so I cant blame the staff. So overall price for hostel is not cheap compared to other hotel which could be better option for senior guests.

A very centrally located hostel with loads on offer in terms of tours and evening activities. It is undeniably a very big party hostel with lots of loud music and happy customers. The staff were mostly pretty helpful and the room was pretty clean.

This is quite an expensive place to stay - my friend stayed at a 4* hotel round the corner for the same price. The music goes on very late (they say quiet time from 23:00 but it didn’t end until 01:00 most evenings). As I was ill whilst we were there, this was really not the vibe. Also our window looked directly onto a corridor so people could see into our room unless we had the curtains shut the whole time.

AMAZING STAFF, Great organized events and alot of social opportunities. This is a very social party hostel, so if your looking for a chill hostel this isnt the place for you. But if you want to meet a lot of people and go to a place that organizes a bunch of tours this place is AMAZING. There is a travel desk where you can organize transport to other cities and other tours. Highly recommend the killing fields & S21 tour. Also there is a whole bar and restaurant in the lobby so this hostel really provides anything you can need as a traveler- tours, accomodation, pool, food&drink- you almost dont need to leave haha

The pool didnt look to clean, bar played loud music, no elevator which isnt a problem for me but a workout every time I wanna go upstairs

The female dorm was really comfortable, with a lot of space and a huge and clean bathroom. Activities are held everyday so you can never be bored in this hostel, a plus for solo travelers. The staff were incredible, nice and friendly. Especially Soso and Kimsin that took great care of me during my stay. Everything exceeded my expectations, I would love to come again !

The hostel might be noisy if you want to relax but that's what makes it fun

The location is great, there is a nice open communal area down stairs, which is good for socialising or finding a spot for yourself. The staff are great, shout out to Tintin for his great help in booking onward buses. Yes it is a Mad Monkey so you do have many opportunities to party and drink but if you’re looking for a vibe in between full party mode and max chill, this is a good option.

Thé tours organised through the hostel are on the expensive side (30USD for S-21 and Killing Fields, when my other hostel had it for 5USD)

The hostel is very central, the staff is friendly and there’s always something going on. I’ve met a bunch of cool people and overall had a great time. The hostel also offers some tours to the main Sightseeing spots which I really enjoyed. Also, I thought the food and drinks were very good. They offer breakfast, all sorts of lunch and dinner options (local dishes and western food) and plenty of drinks to affordable prices.

Felt cold at night as there are no real blankets, just some thin sheets.

Comfortable bed, each dom room has their own bathroom inside (not sharing with everyone from the same floor like usual). Good location, have nightly activities downstairs at the bar, also serve food and have a big swimming pool. Plus a working space that provides much needed privacy when you have to work.

The bathrooms were a bit smelly. Sink is too small so water splash out every time I tried to wash my face.

Mad Monkey is a perfect place to have fun! There's a pool, good facilities, and the staff can help you organize tours and visits to the city center. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We booked a private room with a bathroom, very clean and spacious. If you're looking to meet new people and have a good time, whether you're traveling solo or in a group, this hostel is absolutely perfect!!
