The location is perfect, within easy walking distance of many of Halifax's most visited features, including the waterfront, the citadel and the public gardens. The king bed was super comfy and the room had a nice big TV, although the channel selections were a bit disappointing.

The parking is a few blocks from the hotel and costs $30CAD per day. The in-hotel restaurant was very busy for breakfast and there was a long wait time to get a table and then to get food. One family told us it took an hour to get their food. Rather than wait so long, we walked a couple of blocks away to the Blue Nose 2 restaurant, which was a nice cozy restaurant serving a nice breakfast and fast, friendly service.

The room (#212) had everything I needed: comfy bed, large bathroom, mini-fridge, tv, coffee/tea. I did not notice much noise coming from adjoining rooms or from the street, so I was able to get a good night's sleep. The location was very good. The airport bus dropped you off right across the street from the hotel. There were lots of restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. The staff was efficient, no issues checking in and out. The price I paid was more than fair.

The hotel was listed as a 4-star hotel on Booking.com, but it was more like a 3 or 3.5-star hotel. The furniture was a bit dated and worn. Nobody came to change the towels or tidy up the room during my four night stay. You could have requested the service, but for a 4-star hotel, you shouldn't have to do that. If this was a 3-star hotel, I would have been very happy. For a 4-star-hotel, it was just a bit underwhelming. All things considered, I would stay here again.

Very nice and accommodating staff and comfortable quiet rooms. The hotel location is excellent; I was able to walk everywhere in downtown Halifax with no issue and it was especially easy to get to the waterfront. Perfect for a short stay in Halifax.

Like other reviews have said, the decor at the hotel and the rooms in general are incredibly dated. This doesn't affect the quality of the stay at all except for the fact that the room didn't have modern outlets, USB ports, etc. that you'd find in hotels these days. There also didn't appear to be any AC and it got pretty warm at night.

Location is wonderful

The parking lot is across the street in a parking lot garage that is not easily accessible. If I were traveling on my own without my husband - I would be very nervous parking my car there and making my way to the hotel on my own in the evening. My husband and I were approached and cornered by a homeless individual in the secluded area by the elevator leading down from the parking. The individual was not aggressive and did back off but if I was on my own I would have been very disturbed on what might have happened

A gem and the best hotel I have stayed in in years.. Quiet, very good beds, in good sized room with fridge and coffee maker, very reasonable rates..On site restaurant has three types of Eggs Benedict+poached eggs on fishcakes for breakfast that were all extremely tasty. A few blocks from the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic which is worth a whole day. You can see a deck chair from the Titanic and sit in a replica. Citidal is a slightly longer walk and all uphill which my son described as "good defensive territory". One to two short blocks to good pubs for lunch and only another couple of blocks to excellent restaurants for dinner.

Just a note that there is no housekeeping for stays of less than four nights But I don't get housekeeping at home and have learned to hang up my own towels so not an issue.

The room was fine - my family members all had a really large room with one bed. I shared with a friend with two beds and the room was rather small. Bathroom was spacious. Location is great and easy to get to things downtown Halifax.

I prefer hotels with included breakfast. The hotel restaurant is rather pricey. The parking is in a parkade in the mall. It was simple enough to use but the distance was a little trickier for older parents. Parking is expensive but suited our needs for our stay.

The location was amazing, super easy parking at the Scotia Parkade, all inside walking to the hotel, the hotel is like 2 blocks from the waterfront boardwalk, easy drive to the outlet malls and the hotel will validate the parking for you. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast downstairs was yum. Already planning our next stay!

I read the reviews before going and some people complained about outdated decor, I thought it was fine. The carpet in the hall was a bit bumpy, and the carpet behind the bathroom door was fraying at the end a bit, the wallpaper had a scuff on it. Some smaller details, but overall the room was clean and comfy. Great value for the price for downtown Halifax, and the location is worth it.

The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and the furnishings in the room are pleasant wood, good quality. The front desk staff was helpful and even printed paper directions for driving to Cape Breton. The location is within a 5-10 minute walk of almost every tourist interest point, shopping and dining and the waterfront. The hotel is attached to a good restaurant that is open until 10 PM.

These are minor, but not insignificant for me, points - the in-room telephone did not work, and despite my mentioning this, it was not made functional for me. -it would be nice to have room garbage collected daily. -the dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel (attached to the shower area wall) were stiff and difficult to use and the shower gel dispenser was empty and not refilled during my 4 night stay. One expects accessible toiletries in one’s hotel room.

The room was large and clean. Staff were very professional and helpful. They have security at night which made me feel safe. One of the most convenient locations out of all of the Halifax hotels. Restaurant is good with a coffee counter for the morning. Was very quiet also!

The lighting in the room wasn’t great at night. The toilets have extremely high water which is typical in most older Halifax buildings but is slightly discomforting for me. They don’t do room cleanings unless you stay for more than 5 days so you can have to call for extra washcloths, etc. but they’re usually pretty fast to get them to you. Very minimal complaints!

Location was great close to all ameneties downtown

Nightly rate was too high Fridge took awhile to get too cold No laundry facilities Need to update rooms, wallpaper outdated peeling off walls No microwave ××××Did not like parking arrangement whatsoever, way to much to charge per night, $26.00 plus tax and you have to walk a block in a half in busy traffic, upstairs, escalator, elevator, and my ticket didn't work to get in or out the first time after being validated at Barrington××××
