Absolutely wonderful!!! Location the best for fun, safe night strolling, shopping. Was w 2 young daughters. Felt safe. Staff warm, friendly, helpful. Breakfast nice. You could order/pay for other things if you wanted. Cute cafe/ breakfast place. Loved the feel and theme of the place. I read reviews that said hard to find, but no prob. It WAS small entrance. Loved it! Hope to return and stay here again! Oh, walking to Castile and Getsmani was delightful from this central location. Great food nearby. Lots of art and close to pier to take a boat to an isla.

Bathroom was small. But almost expected it in the middle of the walled city. One thing I wished for was airflow in the room. No circulation. AC was great! But, small smells stayed in room.

The room was cool and clean. It was very easy for us to walk to the main sights in the walled city. The breakfast was at a separate cafe just two blocks away, but was nice and filling. Having breakfast included definitely increased the value for money.

The room was a little small. Our window faced the street, and the noise definitely increased in the evening. Nothing a pair of earplugs couldn't fix, but it is something to be aware of when staying in the walled city.

I loved the location. It was perfect for what I was doing and what I had planned for on my ,1night stay. I wish I could have stayed longer. The breakfast is cooked to order, but not at the hotel. The hotel partner's with a cafe about 1 block and half away. When you enter the cafe, you give your name and room number. They give you a menu with the hotel's name on . You choose your breakfast off this menu.. I had a room that offered a king-size bed. The room was large, but the bathroom was extremely small. Two people can not be in the bathroom at the same time unless 1 person is standing in the shower. Security was very good. There is a buzz-in system to get in and out of the front door entrance. I never saw a back or exit door in case of an emergency. There is a small refrigerator in the room. My room was super clean. I would stay again for a short stay.Great stay.

When you come thru the front entrance of the hotel/ building, you have to walk up about 15 steps with your suitcases. The hotel is on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator to take you to the 2nd floor. The check-in process was very smooth. I saw an all women staff. The staff was multilingual. There is no lounging or hanging out outside your room. The only chairs outside your room are in the check-in area. No lobby to this hotel. The hotel is on the 2nd floor only. It is very small . I think I counted 10 rooms.My room had no window covering. Again, my room was super clean. I would stay again for a short stay.

This hotel is great! Right in the old city of Cartagena, where things get loud! However, this is barely noticable in the amazingly decorated room (even has a freaking drums).

Very minor detail; a card to enter the front door, and a key for the room. As someone that likes to go outside with minimal pocket load, i would prefer either one of two (still like the hotel!!)

The only thing I did not like about the ETHNIC Thematic Hotel was leaving.

I stayed in the suite number 1, with the balcony, it was great, it’s good enough for two people to spend a week or 2 at the city. The air worked really well leaving the room very cool and nice to sleep. The rooms were cleaned everyday and were super comfortable. They have hot water for the showers as well, that was really positive. Overall it was great!

Shower heads should be with more pressure. A little noisy at night because it’s located in the middle of the city, but not loud enough to not be able to sleep, they have sound prof windows.

The location was absolutely perfect, in a popular part of the walled city. The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke English. The Air conditioning was so good it was easy to get cold. The rooms had secure safes and breakfast was provided at a nearby cafe. For the price this place is unbeatable.

I can't even think of anything negative to say about this place.

Super clean & in the old center of Cartagena. You’re a step away from the city. Staff was super friendly and professional. my room was the cutest and the biggest. I had the balcony which was a plus!!

No coffee/ tea machine in the room No microwave in the room No duvet, I had to ask for. Hot water handle was broke, they fixed it the next morning.

Nice place in the center of the walled city. Downsides balanced out by great upsides. Small rooms, but best AC you'll have in all of Colombia. Small showers, but water gets as hot as you like. Best part is there are no windows, so you get quality sleep without hearing the early AM noise from the street below. Also, rooms have large TVs with Netflix.
