Location to metro was good Staff was friendly

The picture on the booking site did not match the room we got. Room 34 Had to shut the kitchen door to use the stove, not enough glassware stocked in kitchen, shower had to be used 30% or it would flood the floor, no iron & board, all bedrooms did not have a/c.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Porta Al Prato, and it truly fulfilled my expectations. The hotel's location is quite convenient, with excellent bus and tram links making it easy to explore Florence, while still being situated in a quieter, less touristy area. If you enjoy walking, it’s just a 20-minute stroll to the heart of the city. The accommodation was spacious and well-equipped. The room was comfortable, featuring a lovely balcony and efficient AC. What stood out most was the friendly and helpful staff, who went out of their way to ensure my stay was enjoyable. They assisted with arranging taxis and even agreed to pick up packages filled with business items before my arrival to make my check-in smoother.

As it is a residence, cleaning is only provided upon request for stays longer than a few nights, typically once a week. This may be inconvenient for some guests.

Everything was great. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. We had a huge balcony, wich was nice. The staff was great and always happy to help The location was very clean and close to the city centre and train station. In the lobby you can find two vending machines, one with coffee and one with water, soda an snacks, wich, in my opinion, is a nice touch and very helpful. In the area there are a lot o shops, bars, restaurants and pastry shops. Closeby you can find a tram station and bus station. I would deffinetely recommend this place, it has everything you need! They also have a goodie bascket in the room, with sweets, toast, jam, tea and instant coffee.

The only minus was soundproofing. You cand hear everything from the neighbours.

I loved the fact that we were pretty close to the City Center, but still not in the crowded area. There were several options of restaurants (good ones), supermarket also located nearby. The staff was very helpful with advices and useful information. They were friendly, we loved that. The private parking was a big + for us and the price of it also . Very clean and comfortable.

The size of the suite is very comfortable, there's also a cute lobby downstairs (it just lacks a bar with drinks and snacks). The furniture and interior are a little outdated, but it did not bother us. It is also very convenient to have your own kitchen.

I thought a 20 minute walk to the center was a short distance, but the streets of Florence are so narrow, dirty and noisy that it became a disaster. This is not a problem with this apartment, but there are no good cafes, restaurants or stores close by, so be prepared to walk to the center every time. It was a nuisance.

The location is great, away from the crowds but easy enough with local transport to get to the center of Florence. Large room with good kitchen facilities and nice big balcony with city view. Bathroom good with enough towels and other amenities for our whole 4 day stay. Dual lifts ensured quick access any time of the day to our high floor.

Lighting in the room could be better, a bit dark for finding items in our suitcase. The bathroom basin area was a bit tight.

Very spacious room that we were pleasantly surprised that it was more like a one bedroom suite. The hotel is an easy 15 min walk to and from Firenze S.M. Novella station but you can opt to take the city tram about 200 yards away from the hotel. We also enjoyed their recommendation to have dinner at Trattoria La Carabaccia a short 10 min walk away. Trattoria Baldini is another great place to have dinner where it’s about 5 minutes from the hotel and where local patrons out number tourists.

The only small issue was the toaster oven didn’t seem to work but that’s ok. It gave us a reason to go out to eat more often. As we prefer staying at a hotel away from the crowded streets, the trade off is that it’s a little farther away from some of the major attractions …eg about a brisk 20 min walk to the Ufizzi Gallery.

Three of us stayed here for one night in Sept 2023. The apartment was clean and a reasonable size. Since we spent the evening out we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. There was a balcony but it had a view of the car park at the rear of the building. Check-in was easy and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The tram stop to the station was nearby. The bedrooms weren't actually separate rooms but just divided off from the main room with half a wall and a wardrobe. We rented a car at the airport the next day and I drove back to the apartment which was only about a 10 minute drive away. On the whole, we liked it for one night.

It is a one-bedroom apartment with kitchen! This is exceeded my expectations. The location is good, walking about 15 minutes to railway station, less than half an hour to most attractions. We almost walked to everywhere without taking bus. There are several very good taste pizza restaurants with good price. The front desk is very helpful, and always has staff until 11pm.

No exhaust fan in bathroom, which can be ignored. Some mosquitoes.

Residence Porta al Prato gave us all that we needed for our 5-day stay in Florence: space for 4 adults. With all the amenities, 24-hr hot water, clean rooms and bathrooms, A/C, well-equipped kitchen with a lot of snacks and goodies and all the things people wrote about it on bookings.com. Though what people didn’t mention was the interesting view from our 5th floor balcony. It was great to wake up to and a tad sad when we had to leave. The location was a bit away from the Centre (10-15 min walk) but we enjoyed the walk after the sumptuous Bisteca ala Fiorentine and the works. The advantage of not being in the Centre: decently priced rooms and the walks along the ‘Arno’ river with a line-up of the most gorgeous buildings. However, the tram to the Centre (one stop) was a 2-min walk with excellent frequency. Full marks to the staff at the reception. They were courteous, knowledgeable and their tips on what and where to eat (where locals go) were spot on. Thank you.
