Amazing location - right in the heart of Bern! The hotel and rooms were really clean, and we loved the cute little rooftop bar. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were recommended this place by friends and could definitely see why. The prices were reasonable (for Switzerland!), the beds were comfy, the walk to the train station was a breeze and overall it was a great stay.

The only downside was that the rooms we booked were pretty tight for two people with large suitcases. We'd stay again, but would definitely book a larger room if more than one person is staying.

I don’t often give a 10 especially as hotels are flippin expensive in Switzerland. However, I was actually sorry to leave Hotel Bern. The staff were fabulous issue with our aircon first night.. fixed which was bliss as it was 35C + outside! Coffee machine wasn’t working 2nd day fixed immediately. Room spacious, very clean, lovely bathroom, great shower and lighting. Bed big and comfortable, separate duvets .. love that! Aircon, fridge, tea and coffee machine, large towels, water supplied in fridge although Switzerland water from the tap is amazing! The roof bar!!! Not cheap but nothing is.. but a lovely spot to relax with a drink and there was a breeze up there, they also had lovely staff! Please give them aircon.. the bar area was very hot and I felt sorry for them! Can’t critic the food as we didn’t eat in the restaurant. Definitely we would return here!

Great location as Coop is just next to the hotel. Walking distance from Bern station and many bus stops. Clean room and very good sound proofing. Can't hear the loud music along the corridor. Provided 2 small pieces of toblerone chocolate on the bed and 2 free drinks at the cafe, which we didn't utilize. The toilet is very clean and there are lots of space to place my toiletries. The air conditioner is strong. The counter staff was very helpful on how to plan with my leftover cash when we checked out.

The room is small with hardly any walking space after our 2 big luggage. No nice view from the balcony, only walls of other buildings.

This hotel is fantastic! It is the only hotel we stayed at out of 7 as we traveled across Switzerland that had air conditioning. Not only that, but the room was beautifully decorated, with herringbone floors, a modern design, and an ornate pale blue ceiling. It was a small room, but built-ins helped make the space flow efficiently. I’m not 100% sure what room type we were in. I’d booked a Boutique Room in the Annex, which per the description, said that it was not accessible via the main building. However, our room was definitely part of the main building, so I think we were in a different room type. Whatever it was, it was amazing! Our room had a fridge, safe, and fancy coffee machine (that took a few tries to figure out, even with instructions!). The bathroom was a good size and had a waterfall shower head and a lighted magnifying makeup mirror. We also had a balcony, with a charming view at the back of the building overlooking other beautiful historic buildings and rooftops (the entire old town is architecturally protected). The hotel is in a great location just a block away from the clock tower and a few minutes’ walk away from many restaurants and pubs. I loved that it has a Coop next door with an in-store restaurant. We had breakfast here each morning, and also ate a lunch and a dinner here. Super convenient and much more affordable than dining out in Switzerland! The other great thing about this hotel is that it has a beautiful rooftop bar. Note though, that when it is full the elevator will not let you go up. We tried this and wondered why we were pushing the elevator button for the bar, and nothing was happening. Eventually we went down to the front desk who clued us in. However, the receptionist overrode that and sent us up in the elevator to try our luck since we were hotel guests.

The only weird thing about this hotel is that when we first checked in, we had two facecloths, but after housekeeping cleaned our room the first morning, they never gave us facecloths again. They replaced all of the other towels but for some reason, never facecloths. Not a huge deal but something to note (I carry my own, just in case). Also, I wish the balcony had chairs and a table so we could actually sit out there and enjoy it.

Nowhere to open suitcases. Our door was right on the corridor wall, could hear a lot of pipes / water moving through them during the evening. Had to wear ear plugs. Having to also pay so much for parking and move the car by 9am meant we had to be up early, check out and get on the road which didn’t really allow us to enjoy our stay or sleep in. Based on this I probably wouldn’t book again.

Hotel location is great. It is in the old town and in vicinity of all important landmarks. Garage is also very near and the discount hotel provided was a nice surprise. There is a big choice of restaurants in the vicinity, but also Coop with all sorts of options for food, either breakfast or lunch/dinner

The room we got was facing inside the building, not much daylight, with the window of the room on the opposite side just a couple of meters away. There was a noise (loud music) coming from somewhere, probably rooftop bar. The stopped around midnight, fortunately.

Good location：not far from train station on foot, close to bus stop, near main streets and zytglogge. Next to a coop super market. Nice staff: always with warm smile, try their best to help us. Clean room: every corner is clean! Equipped with nespresso machines. Bottled water(gazed and still). Welcome chocolate. Nice breakfast: multiple choices.bread and smoke salmon are delicious.

Room is a bit small.

The location of the Hotel is great. Everything is nearby. The room was quiet and clean. The breakfast was ok, but nothing special, usually as in all other hotels.

I reserve that hotel (is not the cheapest one) because of the Roof terrace (my wife was with me). But I couldn't use it, because it was always full. I had meetings over the day and I couldn't use it in the evening. And if there were some time in the morning.. it is closed until 11:30. So next time, a cheaper Hotel, and as a visitor I will use the Terrace (if free). If there will be a breakfast option on the Roof, then room prices are worth the money.. ;)

We had suite which was big and very nice. The bed was comfy. The hotel is newly renovated. Location is just great. The staff was very helpfull and polite. Really nice. Parking in nearby parking house.

Aircondition in our room made lot of noise with little effect. Slept with open window, which worked. Untasteful breakfast. Poor area for breakfast. You just want to leave the space. Despite completely new the hotel absolutely disrespects the nature of the beautiful building. On the other hand it matches best western philosophy. I have seen that some of the rooms face very narrow courtyard. Not sure what kind of room is that.
