This is a really beautiful hotel, and the location is right in the heart of CBD.

I was looking forward to some really awesome desserts, like ones I'd seen pictured online like the ice cream parfait sundae or the caramelised banana split, but when I asked room service or anyone at the Café they said they didn't do anything like that... so I was miffed... The limitless ice cream for under 12 years is a bonus and something I looked forward to with my little one. However, on one of the occasions we went to access, after she had two separate scoops, a worker told her maybe she had enough- and proceeded to ignore her and not give her another scoop. I feel like that should have been my choice. Limitless means limitless during her stay. It put a damper on how I felt about our stay. As it took some joy away from my daughters experience.

The hotel is super easy to get to from Southern Cross Station, essentially just across the street. Shopping is also good in the area, but you need to take the tram for 10 minutes to get to high end luxury shopping in the downtown area there. I didn't like that the sauna closed so early in the evening (10 PM), but it does open at six. The deluxe rooms were sufficiently spacious and had plenty of window, but the the standard rooms were a bit cramped and lacked substantial window access. We bought all three types on this trip, so it was easy to compare.

The breakfast was probably the worst part of the stay at this Movenpick. Relatively limited selection of items. The eggs were fantastic, but the vegetable dumplings were not what I expected when comparing say Vietnamese vegetable dumplings to these at Movenpick. I would have liked to see more porridge options, and more fruit.

The location was great; central but quiet. The natural air flow around pool was innovative and added to the enjoyment. Spa was the perfect temp. Rooms were well thought out; loved the coffee machine & beds were comfortable. Good sound proofing. All the styling was impactful. We were blown away by the free chocolate hour. It was very impressive! Breakfast was good and not over the top. The dumpling option for brekky was cool and a first for us. The concierge team were friendly and helpful.

Grasping at straws here really but the sauna could have been hotter and there was a weird smell occasionally around the hotel. Plumbing or sewerage. But it wasn't detrimental!

Location excellent , comfortable room, Staff throughout were excellent and very helpful. Breakfast ok but was sat at a table looking straight at the coffee machine...not great

The Shower places water over the floor as no shower door. I found this dangerous and very unpleasant when going to the toilet during the night and standing on a very wet floor and this was after using a floor mat. Personal choice , I dont like the wardrobe arrangement with an open rack set very high on the wall I also found the room decor was too black and dark.

Great hotel. Amazing location to get around Melbourne CBD from. Very helpful & friendly staff. Pool srea clean, pool could of been a bit warmer though! Menu very limited for vegetarians and kids in the restuarant but the food we had on room service (kids fish & chips and a tomatoe salad) were really nice. Chocolate hour was a bit of a dissapointment as we’d heard fab things & the website showed some great chocolate but sadly it was nothing like the website with only 3 bite sized offerings and some choclate popcorn. Nether the less was very tasty!

Great location across the road from Southern Cross Station. Rooms are nice and bathroom facilities are better than most. Quite a spacious shower.

We had a twin with two single beds. King singles would improve the experience though nothing at all wrong with what is there. Pool was very hectic, limited seating and no pool service or option to take plastic glasses to the pool. That would be amazing if there was a bit more available there. Free chocolate hour was okay = good quality but limited GF options. Clothes storage was in the open.

We were very impressed with the facility. The complimentary chocolate hour was lovely. We enjoyed spending time in the bar/cafe area. The location was perfect for us. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and modern. The pool/spa/sauna area was very impressive - clean, plenty of towels and great showers and toilets. It was very quiet, with no traffic noise despite the busy location.

I would have liked to be able to open a window as I don't like air conditioning, but it was nice not to hear the street noise. So this isn't really an issue.

The location was ideal for us, as we did not have a car. Across the road from Southern Cross where we caught the train and caught the Sky bus. The outlet centre and the tram was all so accessible. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were tidy.

The room we had, had a continuous sewerage smell, even when not in use. But we chalked it down to the toilet not having a lid and just kept the bathroom door shut. It didn't affect our stay as we were hardly in the room, just at night to sleep.

The room was spacious, clean and super comfortable. The pool and spa were also great and loved that there was fresh air coming in whilst still being undercover and somewhat indoor. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

Main reception was not as welcoming as I would have liked for a 5 star hotel. Also, I asked for an extra pillow and blanket for my toddler who was sleeping in the cott at 10pm at night. It took staff over 30 minutes to come to the room and the blanket was too thick and humongous it wouldn't have fit in the cott even if we tried. There was also no place to dispose of my sons nappies and when asked by staff they couldn’t provide me with an answer or solution - just an 'oh thats an interesting question never thought about that'.

Perfect location, just across the street from Southern Cross Station so arriving from Melbourne Airport via Skybus was a breeze. Chocolate hour daily from 2-3pm was a delightful treat. The pool, spa, sauna and gym were fantastic, lovely to have access to these facilities during our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the rooms had wonderful luxurious feel to them. I enjoyed the black and white chevron pattern used throughout the hotel. Would definitely stay here again!
