Very clean, staff are awesome. No awkwardness entering and exiting the building. Perfectly organised cleaning schedules. Rooms are awesome. Very large and great beds and facilities. Stayed for a month and felt like home. Images of hotels do not lie. They are perfect.

The shared washing machines and dryers are perhaps a bit weak and small, still usable though, but there is an awesome launderette about 3-5min walk away with big machines and dryers. Get your whole load washed and crispy dried in an hour.

The location is amazing, so close to the station, Ueno park, shopping, restaurants, convenience stores & good coffee. Rooms are large, we had two single beds, bunk, seating area & kitchenette we only used the fridge. We liked that are room got serviced each day. Beds every 2nd day. The staff are lovely & they have good options of places to eat & things to rent. Ueno station is a major access point with JR Rail, Metro & Airport Express making it easy to explore Tokyo.

We had no view outside, our window was a safety exit that faced a wall. They do have large Japanese screens covering as a window feature but if you like to see outside perhaps make sure you book a train view room as you can feel a bit trapped. It was like having an inside cabin on a ship. We were out all day so it didn’t bother us in the end but wish we knew before we booked so we could have made that choice. You also need to step up into the toilet & shower rooms if you have accessibility needs.

The staff was great, the location was great and our family really enjoyed the stay. We had a family room with bunk beds for the kids. Great with separate toilet and shower room. Great with a proper place to sit after a full day out and about. Would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed 14 days, and had a few mishaps. Room cleaning missed us two times during this period and when we arrived, the room had a very strange smell. Staff was quick to accommodate us with a new room however. Rooms had somewhat sparse interior.Beds are hard.

This hotel is in an excellent location, making it ideal for family trips. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. All the staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, but Marc truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. When I mentioned my concern about the potential noise from the trains outside, he patiently showed us other quieter room options to ensure we were comfortable. This thoughtful gesture immediately put us at ease. What really touched us was how Marc noticed my son’s fascination with trains and surprised him with a beautifully crafted toy train as a gift. It was such a kind and unexpected gesture that made my son’s day—and ours as well. Staying at this hotel felt more than just a comfortable experience; it felt like being cared for by family. Marc’s exceptional service, combined with the hotel’s convenient location and overall warm environment, made our Tokyo trip truly unforgettable. We will always cherish the memories we created here and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place that goes beyond expectations.

We stayed in the Family Apartment and the layout was perfect for our family of four (with two teens). There were three separate closed spaces for the shower, sink and toilet areas, allowing everyone privacy and space when needed. The bunk beds were comfy and long enough for my tall teenage son, with chargers and a shelf for their phones. Also, the staff could not have been more nice and helpful. They answered many questions and spoke good English.

My pillows were a little hard but I think that may be typical for Japan. As far as the location, it is a little bit of a walk from the train station to the hotel. Exiting using the Iriya exit makes it a lot easier because it takes you partly there. Ueno is very centrally located in Tokyo and the shopping/dining area just south of the exit was great.

Room is clean and tidy. The setting and size are good for family staying. The cleaning was done properly. I was able to borrow a small oven for breakfast. Staffs are with international background, means, they can communicate properly in English. I was able to book the transport for my way to airport through the front-desk.

The location is a bit too far to Ueno high street and station. It is a 10mins walk from the hotel to the Ueno station, 15 to Ueno high street. If you are travelling with young kids you must get prepared.

We have 4 adults and 2 kids traveling together, so the room (family apartment) best answers us (it is quite hard to find a room to accommodate 6 people in Tokyo area, and finding 2 room with 3 beds each is quite challenging). The room is clean and has a stove / kitchenware to prepare some meals. The staff is very friendly. The location is near Ueno station and there is a Lawson mart nearby.

Mostly none. But be aware that although the hotel is near JR Ueno station, it takes about 5-7 minutes to walk to the station which might need some effort, especially if you come with children and luggage. It takes even more time (about 10 minutes) if you want to take the Keisei line (via Keisei Ueno station) to and from Narita airport.

Convenient location next to Ueno station. Had a mini kitchen where we could prepare a simple breakfast, and a nice double decker bed for the kids. They thoroughly enjoyed that !

My particular room, had a faulty Aircon which didn't provide enough heat even I turned it up to 35 degrees Celsius. But this might be specific to only my room. Dryer in the laundry room were also not hot enough, dried my clothes for 1 hour but they were still damp. However the nice staff expressed their sincere apologies when I highlighted this to them

Ueno was great for our family for four! A 5-7 minute walk to the station, and we had a spacious room for our family. The front desk is english speaking with 5 star hospitality. The facilities are unmatched for a family. We were so comfortable with our large room, seating area, kitchen area and toilet room and shower. 7-11 and Lawson's were close by for snacks and easy breakfast. We made coffee in our room with our electric kettle. I would stay here again and again and again. Loved it! Thank you, Mimaru Ueno North!

Considering the Tokyo standard, the room size is extremely spacious and comfortable for 4 people to share. This is the big plus since other hotel rooms in Tokyo are so tiny that you can barely open your luggage. The staff are friendly and helpful, all of whom are international staff and speak very good English. The hotel is quite a walk from Ueno station (around 10 minutes, more with luggages) unless you exit the right gate (Iriya gate). In the room, it is equipped with kitchen utensils so it's quite convenient to make breakfast and coffee/tea in the morning.

1. This is the first hotel that I've been to that doesn't provide a shower cap for guests. I asked for one from the staff and they said it's not available at the hotel. I think it's the basic amenity that every hotel should have but obviously not this one. 2. The family apartment that we stayed in has no window. Well, there is a window but it's locked and we're not allowed to open it, making the room dark and depressing. 3. My husband and son cannot stop sneezing when in the room. They're allergic to dust so we can only assume that the room is rather dusty probably because there's no ventilation as the window cannot be opened.
