Conveniently located just next to Ueno station. Makes it very easy to travel by trains - both metro & shinkansen stops in this station.

We had 2 bookings at this hotel. Our first room was extremely crammed although this was to be expected. What was very disappointing was that we booked a non-smoking room specifically and our room reeked of cigarettes. The smell even ended up infesting our clothes. Our second room was much better, a bit more spacious and did not have cigarette smells. So thankfully we ended our trip on a positive note. The AC settings are not modifiable. In the morning till about 8pm it’s set to cooling. At night only heating is allowed. Despite keeping our AC turned off the whole time, the rooms were so stuffy at night. We had to open a window as it was too hot inside. I think the building needs better ventilation.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Rooms and bed were perfect size for 2 people with enough room for luggage. Location was fantastic, right behind Ueno station and 5 minute walk from the busy Ameyoko shopping street with tons of restaurants and bars. It was perfect for a short stay before flying out, with direct access to Narita airport via the Keisei skyliner.

2 minutes walk to Ueno Station. Staff (front desk and housekeeping) was friendly and helpful. The room amenities, from shower head to kettle, show attention to travelers’ needs.

There were a short flight of steps leading to the hotel entrance. This might be challenging to people with heavy luggage or physically impaired.

Location is around 10 minutes from Keisei Ueno station which has direct access from Narita (around 40 minutes travel time). From Keisei Ueno, the path towards the hotel is flat, so it won't be much of a problem even dragging 2 suitcases. There is an entrance (Iriya exit) a block from the hotel to JR Ueno, which is one of the major stations, but to get to the subway (non-JR lines), you have to go to the main entrance which is around 5minutes from the hotel. I love the fact that the window can be opened, so we were warned upon check in that because it is winter, the heater is on, so we can turn it off and open the window. They also have option for eco cleaning, where only the garbage is cleaned instead of replacing the sheets daily. Although it is across Ueno station, you can't hear the trains. A Family mart is also located behind the hotel. Breakfast is ok, with several Jap and Western options (buffet style), but at around 1700 yen per person, you can purchase from the convenience store the night before and use the microwave at the lobby to heat it up.

There are 4 pillows in a double room, but each pillow is too flat to my liking, so you'll have to end up using both. Late at night, you can hear drunk people shouting with the windows open. I haven't tried closing my window at night because my heater is turned off. I find the water pressure from the Japanese bidet a bit lacking even if it has been turned to the max level, but no problem with shower water pressure. One major thing is that the entrance has around 7-8 steps (stairs), and there is no ramp to drag your luggage/luggages, so you have to be careful when with luggages.

The location is excellent, being so close to Ueno station, convenience stores, restaurants, shops, Ameyoko markets and Ueno Park (great for viewing cherry blossoms!). The room, although small, was clean and quiet. Pricing is reasonable, except at peak times (e.g. cherry blossom season).

Only 1 small pillow supplied per guest, which was filled with beads and not very comfortable. The bed was situated against the wall, which makes it awkward to exit the bed. Limited storage available. Having to carry luggage up and down the stairs at the entrance to the hotel - however, if the staff at reception will assist you if they are available. Lack of bottled water, unless you opt for eco cleaning (involves trash being removed from hotel room only, no cleaning or replacement of towels). If you request eco cleaning, you need to ask for the bottled water from reception - it would be easier if the housekeeping staff supplied the water when emptying out the trash bins.

the location is very good, From narita airport , we can take the keisei train , then about 5 minutes walk, then to JR Ueno is 3 minutes walk, good for us to use bullet train to go the other cities.

the only thing is there are several steps in front of the hotel, may be not convenient for some customers and also the air conditioning sometimes is too hot,

Location: close to train stations, making it easy to travel to and from Narita and other parts of the city; quiet although within the bustling commercial areas of Taito city; konbinis, restaurants, shopping centres within easy reach; very close to a large park: Ueno park, ueno zoo and other attractions Staff: the front office staff were very polite and helpful; bathroom essentials were replenished daily Air conditioning: easy to control, made the room very comfortable; the bed was firm enough.

The location of the hotel was perfect - within easy walking distance to Ueno Station, Ueno Park, and shopping and eating areas. Via the Yamanote Line at Ueno Station, we could easily get to Gyoen National Park in Shinjuku and to the Ryogoku Kokugikan for Grand Sumo. Via the Ginza Line (access next to Ueno Station), we could quickly get to the Sanja Matsuri festivities in Asakusa. We wish we had more time to really explore the museums at Ueno Park and visit more of the restaurants in the area. Service was excellent - at the Front Desk, with Housekeeping, and we especially like the fact that we could easily make the hotel reservations online through Booking.com. We stayed there 10 nights so it was also convenient that we had access to washers and dryers on the same floor and the ice-making machine.

It would have been nice to have a microwave oven, if not in the room, at least on the same floor. It would have been nice to have a ramp at the entrance so we wouldn't have to lug our suitcases up the stairs. The rooms were small, no dresser and with a closet only big enough to hang 4 items. But I understand that space is limited.

Perfect location adjacent to Ueno Station and in short walking distance of many dining options. Reception offered umbrellas when going out which was much appreciated.

Nothing really.

The breakfast was a buffet. They give you many options for both Japanese and western breakfast. About a dozen platters are laid out for you to help yourself. Some are hot like they have fish and there’s hamburger patties. Of course there’s rice in a cooker and miso soup. and some dishes are cold like there’s a mini salad bar, and canned fruit cocktail. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. I speak very little Japanese and they were so patient. After we checked out, we were on our way to another city when my husband discovered he lost his car keys! We called the hotel and they checked the room for us. Again I am not good at Japanese so I had trouble with communicating what I needed. But they stayed with me on the phone and were willing to try and understand me. (In the end, my husband found his keys— they were hiding in his luggage with his clothes) I recommend this hotel and the staff 100% they are the best! Kind patient courteous generous

everything was wonderful! I recommend this hotel and the staff 100% they are the best! Kind patient courteous generous. Location was super close to Ueno Station and many attractions.
