Nice beach, beautiful landscape, breakfast has a lot of choices.

We stayed at villa #7 to start, but we had to change to villa #4 after 2 nights due to loud noises from the mechanical issues. However, villa #4 is even WORSE, and 2 of the 3 rooms we had were so terrible, loud noise, we couldn’t sleep at all. At the end we had to switch back to #7 for the rest of our trip. They should really do something about their infrastructure , they should upgrade their facilities, who is willing to stay at a room with loud noise?

The property and the facilities are generally excellent and the food, while expensive compared to local offerings, was great.

Too far from other places on the island and the lack of flexibility. I tried to book a room with two beds for my son and I too share and was told this was too hard to arrange. Really? Every other property i stayed in while in Vietnam was able to happily meet this requirement as it is not a very unusual request.

Villa was clean, spacious and well-appointed. Nice private pool. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. My complaint about the tour operator the resort refers guests to seemed to have been taken seriously. The gym is really nice, as it has a good variety of modern equipment. Breakfast buffet is varied and of reasonable quality. Overall I would consider staying here again.

The tour operator the hotel refers guests to for local activities is not professional and I was surprised a 5-star resort of an international brand would work with such a company. It failed to follow basic safety standards, like providing life jackets for all boat passengers, and did not follow the itinerary. I didn't like the fact that the resort allows buses to park along the road adjacent to the villas during the day, and to let the bus drivers sit on the grass there. It's off-putting to go outside and see a long line of buses and bus drivers hanging out like a picnic steps from your villa.

This hotel is all out fantastic. The staff is delivering service on a very high level catering to your every need. The food is great and the breakfast is perfect with a very big selection of Asian and western food. The private beach at the hotel is just wonderful

Could have been more sun beds at the beach, but it is a minor detail. In general we do not have anything to say about the negatives

FANTASTIC location if you are on holiday to relax on the beach and enjoy views. Keep in mind that the location is a bit secluded from the main towns, so in order to get around you will have to book a taxi directly with the hotel which is a lot more expensive rather than using a grab. The food is great, and service is prompt! The hotel hosts a lot of fun festivals or mini parties throughout the week which is fun. Great place to relax and rejuvenate.

Most of the staff don’t understand English. We experienced SO MANY mix-ups due to miscommunication. The staff who do understand English are too shy to confirm or clarify if they are confused by your request. On our first morning at the hotel, we were turned away from breakfast because we were 1 minute late. The staff starts cleaning up breakfast roughly 5-10 minutes before 10am. If you are a person who works online in a different time zone, beware that you will most likely not be able to wake up early enough for your breakfast. Other than that, everything was great.

Quiet place away from town centre, however there is a regular free bus service that stops just outside the hotel, on the main road. Free shuttle bus provided to and from the airport. The superior room with sea view was spacious, and the balcony was awesome. The only minor inconvenience was the quick pooling of water in the shower cubicle during baths. Awesome breakfast with slight variations every day and a wide spread. The pool was clean and big. Buggy service available to the beach. Lots of free activities throughout the day. Staff are polite, approachable, and helpful all around. Will definitely return.

The service is more of 3-4 stars, I’m not sure if it’s about this hotel or Vietnam in general. There is Aura beach club in the hotel area and the waiter literally screamed at me for asking to separate the bill. Staff doesn’t speak good English, sometimes just just ignore your requests. It happened at least 3 times during our stay. It’s the only hotel I stayed in Vietnam, so it’s hard for me to compare. Also cleaning level is below average.

The environment and service is very nice. The beach and the swimming pool is beautiful.

Nothing

Staff was nice in general. Everyone was really helpful and seemed truly happy to help their guests with all their hearts. The best porter we have ever met, Antony(his English name he told me), is who I wanted to give the praise for. He was truly kind and nice, always greeting the guest with big smiles and in a very welcoming manner. He made our family trip so much more pleasant, I wanted to leave the thank you letter for him, which I couldn’t find how, so here I am leaving the thank you letter for him. All the other agents and staff were all very nice and always helpful. Bit hard to communicate sometimes as not many of them speaks English, but I could genuinely feel they are trying their best to help us.

Most of the popular restaurants and cafes are down the south so location wise it’s bit far away from everything. But if you are looking for chill and relax vacation this is the one you should go for.

Facilities

ALL of Phu Quoc Island has a serious pollution problem. Rivers and beaches are VERY littered with plastic and other trash, it's VERY visible in the beach and water. The beach in front of Mövenpick is no exception. I hope Mövenpick works with other big brand hotels in the Island and the Vietnam government to tackle this problem, because honestly it's not good for business. I really enjoyed staying at Mövenpick, but solely due to the Island's pollution problem I wouldn't come back.
