The hotel was perfect for us. We had two rooms as our base for skiing in Les Houches. The staff were always friendly and engaging. The hotel's located about a 20 minute walk from Chamonix, which was fine for us as we walked in each evening. Les Houches ski area is a 10 minute drive down the valley. The hotel also has good bus and train access to and from Chamonix. The rooms were always well cleaned, appropriately sized, with plenty of storage and a simple but functional en suite. The views from the balcony are spectacular. Always great to stay in a hotel with its own free car park!

It’s a great location - very close to the city centre but far enough to hear no noise. The breakfast buffet was also really nice.

The younger lady from the staff was super friendly and kind and while the other elderly lady was nice as well, but when I kept asking for coffee refills while having breakfast she made me feel as if those coffees are coming out of her pocket and also when she was serving the breakfast there was a shortage of food and some people didn’t even get their promised breakfast, but I don’t know who’s responsible for that.

Nice little hotel, a little dated but perfectly fine for us. Views across to the mountains from the room a nice touch. The owners were lovely, and the hotel itself was pretty quiet and made a good base at the end of the day. Rooms are on the smaller side, but perfectly fine for 2 friends or a couple to share. We paid extra for the breakfast buffet which was simple but good. Staff were attentive and we thought the food was good quality and was more than adequate for our needs. There are no cafes or restaurants nearby, so we opted to take the breakfast most mornings. Hotel 1 minute from the bus stop with buses every 30 mins to the main ski lifts in both directions. Around 15-20 minute walk from town as an alternative option. The hotel also has a boot room outside for keeping your skis etc, which was also good. Overall we enjoyed this hotel and for the budget price we can definitely recommend.

Hotel du Lacs is a long-ish walk from town, so if that matters to you then stay closer to the centre. We didn't mind this, but if you're staying longer than a few days you might want to choose somewhere in town. No shops or restaurants nearby, although the hotel next door does have a lively bar and restaurant. If you need to eat then this is always an option. Would have been nice to have hot drinks facilities in the room, a kettle would be a nice touch. Also maybe options for food storage so we could make simple dinners in the evenings - but this is more a nice to have. As a budget hotel you don't tend to expect this, but would be very useful.

The property was clean and comfortable. It has the most beautiful view, a UK style hotel next door serving good food and 10 min walk to free train to visit the Alps. Cannot go wrong with a stay here away from the main tourist town. Would recommend.

Location and the ease of checkin was excellent. Just around 15min walk from the hustle of the city centre. Small place but cozy and they also provide guest pass that allows you discount on travel passes around the city. Small but tidy rooms, all basic amenities available.

Cosy hotel with incredible views of Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc. Rooms are simple but extremely functional and great value for money. Free parking is extremely convenient and we used the car to visit different resorts. Breakfast is simple but good.

We had a very pleasant stay at this well located, clean and affordable hotel. The only improvement we can think of would be more power sockets (e.g. with extension via multiple plugs) near the bed. But this is not a big problem as there were several plugs in total along with the bathroom.

Not really anything to complain about. They did not serve supper or drinks after 9, but there was a great restaurant/bar next door.

Superb location!! Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice. Rooms and bed could do with update, bed are not too comfy but we had last room with twin beds. The view of the Mont Blanc from the window was worth the money though. Nice bar restaurant right next to it. Breathtaking walks.

Bed were hard. Room very expensive, but I suppose the location makes it worth it.
