Junior Suite review The property was really nice it was newly renovated so looked really nice and clean and the doors at the front opened automatically which was a vibe and the housekeeping did a amazing job every time making the bed which was so nice to come back to a freshly made bed the location of the hotel just a 5-10 min walk from lots of shops 5-10 min from nice ville train station and a 5 min walk from the tram stop so really good for that vibe. In the room there was a kettle and coffee machine with a fridge with things that you could buy.

I liked everything but the only thing that was not very good is the housekeeping didn’t shut the door on accident because you have to pull the door hard in order to shut the door so it was left on the latch but other than that the housekeeping did an amazing job.although I think it’s in a nicer area at night walking back you do feel slightly on edge because it’s very quiet but it’s fine.

Beautiful hotel in a good location and very friendly staff at breakfast

The cleanliness of the room. There was dust on the headboard. The bin was not emptied for days. The shower soap was not replaced when it was empty. The wall is thin and the position of the bed is awkwardly located. The bed is next to the door so you could hear your neighbors open and close their doors. If you are a light sleeper this could be a problem. Breakfast is boring and repetitive and it is not up to a 4 starred standard. You get tired of the offer after 3 days because they are always the same. All in all, it is not worth 300 Euros a night. I’m quite disappointed.

This hotel had a very curated and up to date feel. Every facet seemed intentional. Whatever you set your eyes on was pleasing. Even the smell when you walked in help set the tone. The staff were warm and helpful.We especially loved the location. Walk out the front doors and take a right and you will quickly wind up at the Sea. The neighborhoods are charming and the Rue de France is just blocks away.

It’s a small boutique hotel so the only downsides we found are what they don’t offer (Restaurant/Bar) but the do have a partner hotel next door with rooftop pool and spa that are included with stay.

Great great great staff! Very helpful and always in a good mood with smiles and enthusiasm. Especially Eric, Frida, and Orlando… all incredibly gracious and experienced. Also greatly enjoyed the gym and rooftop pool at their sister property next door.

The room was extremely dark because they assigned me an interior room with only very indirect light from windows. Had to rearrange lighting and ask for additional lamps so we could see in parts of the room. But, in no way did it affect our stay and our enjoyment of the property in general !

The room and bed were both extremely comfortable, with great decor and the bathroom very well appointed, with bathrobes and slippers, as well as nice large bath towels. The decor is really nice throughout. Staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. Location is excellent, 5-10 minutes walk from the old town, the sea front and also the shopping district in town, yet not on a main street so very nice and quiet.

The room was a little dusty (particularly the shelf behind the bed) and one of the clean unused towels had a dirty mark on it (this was replaced without any trouble at our request but should have been spotted by staff beforehand). Towels and bathrobes are both a little tired and could do with replacing. Just a little more attention to detail for these things would have seen a perfect score.

This is a lovely hotel, which balances a beautifully restored Bel Epoch exterior with a sleek modern interior. Our room was not huge, but it was convenient and attractive and offered an appealing view of the 19th-century buildings across the quiet street. The staff could not have been kinder and went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast buffet, at 22 euros per person, is a little steep, but it is also excellent, with a chef on site making delicious omelettes to order. The location was great too, an easy walk from the seaside promenade, and we were able to wheel our bags to the train station. Other locations (like the not-to-be-missed Chagall Museum) are more of a hike, but the city trams are convenient as well. A great place to stay in Nice.

We can't think of anything, really. And if the breakfast seems too pricey, there are promising cafes within a block or two in any direction. We chose to eat breakfast "in" one morning and "out" the other.

The hotel is newly renovated, some of the color choices and choice of furniture are a bit strange (something between brown and yellow in our bedroom and furry chairs in the lobby that seemed a bit out of place). All in all a very good impression. Stunning bathroom, very comfortable beds and quiet room with a little balcony. Friendly staff and the location is A+. Close to the beach and the shopping area. Can highly recommend the restaurant around the corner Nespo, pricy but worth it. My teenager also had a massage in the sister hotel that he was very happy with.

The colorchoices, some areas of the hotel did not feel fully finished and there were works going on in our floor. It was a smell of paint and glue in the hotel room before opening the windows.

Staff very super helpful and accommodating. They managed to check us in a bit early and also kept our bags the whole day after we checked out and provided us with shower facility in hotel Splendid next door before our flight home. That meant we could have a whole extra day on the beach which was a bonus. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, including fresh fruit and freshly cooked omelette to order and delicious pastries too. Room was clean and a good size and tastefully furnished. Hotel is very well located and has easy access to promenade and the Old town.

I just had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gounod, a pristine, newly remodeled hotel that just relaunched in June 2024. My experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The highlight of my stay was the exceptional service, particularly from Juliana. She went above and beyond to provide the best service I have EVER experienced at a hotel. After discovering that my luggage was missing at an airport in Italy, Juliana tirelessly tracked it down and ensured its safe return. Her kindness, dedication, and relentless effort turned a stressful situation into a testament to the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. I am forever grateful for her outstanding service. Would also like to mention we have also been looked after and cared for by Frida, who has been LOVELY, truly genuine, and helpful. We are so impressed by the professionalism and high standard of customer service we’ve received here. In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend Hotel Gounod. With its perfect location, stunning design, cleanliness, and unmatched service—especially thanks to the incredible Juliana—this hotel sets a new standard for luxury and hospitality!

The room was very comfortable with two small armchairs which were very useful and it was a double aspect room, too. The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. The bathroom was nice and warm and we appreciated the spacious sink on which we could place our toiletries. We also appreciated the use of a kettle for our hot drinks. The staff were friendly, the breakfast very good and the location of the hotel near the Jean Medecin tram stop, the main Nice station and the Promenade des Anglais made it a very good location. We were always glad at the end of our outings to retreat to our room out of the cold North East gales which plagued our stay. Fortunately we know the Cote d'Azur well at this time of the year and the awful weather this time was exceptional.

A very small thing. The wardrobe was in a rather dark corner of the room - a light in the wardrobe would have been useful.
