This is a lovely hotel, which balances a beautifully restored Bel Epoch exterior with a sleek modern interior. Our room was not huge, but it was convenient and attractive and offered an appealing view of the 19th-century buildings across the quiet street. The staff could not have been kinder and went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast buffet, at 22 euros per person, is a little steep, but it is also excellent, with a chef on site making delicious omelettes to order. The location was great too, an easy walk from the seaside promenade, and we were able to wheel our bags to the train station. Other locations (like the not-to-be-missed Chagall Museum) are more of a hike, but the city trams are convenient as well. A great place to stay in Nice.

We can't think of anything, really. And if the breakfast seems too pricey, there are promising cafes within a block or two in any direction. We chose to eat breakfast "in" one morning and "out" the other.

The hotel is newly renovated, some of the color choices and choice of furniture are a bit strange (something between brown and yellow in our bedroom and furry chairs in the lobby that seemed a bit out of place). All in all a very good impression. Stunning bathroom, very comfortable beds and quiet room with a little balcony. Friendly staff and the location is A+. Close to the beach and the shopping area. Can highly recommend the restaurant around the corner Nespo, pricy but worth it. My teenager also had a massage in the sister hotel that he was very happy with.

The colorchoices, some areas of the hotel did not feel fully finished and there were works going on in our floor. It was a smell of paint and glue in the hotel room before opening the windows.

I just had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gounod, a pristine, newly remodeled hotel that just relaunched in June 2024. My experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Situated equidistant from the Nice Ville train station, Avenue Jean Médecin shopping district, and the Blue Beach ocean promenade, it offers unparalleled convenience for exploring Nice. The highlight of my stay was the exceptional service, particularly from Juliana. She went above and beyond to provide the best service I have EVER experienced at a hotel. After discovering that my luggage was missing at an airport in Italy, Juliana tirelessly tracked it down and ensured its safe return. Her kindness, dedication, and relentless effort turned a stressful situation into a testament to the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. I am forever grateful for her outstanding service. Would also like to mention we have also been looked after and cared for by Frida, who has been LOVELY, truly genuine, and helpful. We are so impressed by the professionalism and high standard of customer service we’ve received here. In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend Hotel Gounod. With its perfect location, stunning design, cleanliness, and unmatched service—especially thanks to the incredible Juliana—this hotel sets a new standard for luxury and hospitality!

The room was very comfortable with two small armchairs which were very useful and it was a double aspect room, too. The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. The bathroom was nice and warm and we appreciated the spacious sink on which we could place our toiletries. We also appreciated the use of a kettle for our hot drinks. The staff were friendly, the breakfast very good and the location of the hotel near the Jean Medecin tram stop, the main Nice station and the Promenade des Anglais made it a very good location. We were always glad at the end of our outings to retreat to our room out of the cold North East gales which plagued our stay. Fortunately we know the Cote d'Azur well at this time of the year and the awful weather this time was exceptional.

A very small thing. The wardrobe was in a rather dark corner of the room - a light in the wardrobe would have been useful.

We loved everything about Hotel Gounod! We returned to this hotel as the first time we visited Nice was in 2020 and once we saw the hotel was renovated we decided to give it a go once again. It was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we entered the hotel, the entrance was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and the reception area smelled wonderful. The lovely man welcomed us and checked us in promptly. Our room was stunning, the bathroom tiles stole our hearts. The whole stay was fantastic, the staff were all amazing and so friendly. We loved our Christmas in Nice and we will definitely return and it will definitely be to the hotel Gounod. The hotel deserves to be a 5* hotel. Thank you very much for such an amazing stay.

We loved absolutely everything there is nothing to like about this hotel!

This is one of the best-looking hotels we have ever stayed at. The lobby and the rooms are wonderful, beautiful and spacious. We did not try their breakfast, but I'm sure it's good. The room we stayed in was always kept clean, and they gave us bathrobes. You also get access to the Sister hotel "Splendid" with all their facilities as a gym, rooftop bar and pool and the spa. The location is perfect, right by the Metro and you get to the city and the beach in just 5 min. Their staff is just perfect and friendly.

On Booking, the Junior Suite was not clearly listed as a wheelchair accessible room, so the bathroom was made for wheelchair users and lacked some storage options, it is still a wonderful room, but maybe change the title of the room on Booking.

Hotel Gounod was a lovely hotel, slightly set back from the coast but peaceful and quiet. Our suite was spacious and well-appointed. The staff were friendly and professional, and we appreciated the allocated parking and electric vehicle charging — a definite plus. We also enjoyed access to the rooftop pool next door, which offered an incredible 360-degree view over Nice. We would happily stay there again.

The lift was a little small and slow.

The renovations that everyone is talking about are very good. Our room was great and the property felt like a nice boutique Parisian hotel. Take advantage of access to the neighboring hotel, Hotel Splendid, that you get complimentary access to their roof/pool/gym. Their rooftop had the BEST views in Nice. You can see all of Nice practically and the staff at that hotel was very accommodating.

The AC could have been a bit stronger. My gf woke me up in the middle of one of our nights cause she was too hot. There isn’t much staff could do however.

The rooms are beautiful and the staff are very kind and welcoming. The location is great. Highly recommend, we will certainly return and refer to our friends and family!

It seems that because they are undergoing hiring since their big renovations that they are short on staff so things like more towels took some extra time but nothing we were bothered or impacted by.

I am very impressed by how lovely this hotel was from the aesthetics to the customer service, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend it. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, with a special thanks to Frida for assisting us on our trip she was fantastic. Can’t wait to visit again!
